Given the name, you'd think your main task in Graveyard Keeper would be to look after your local cemetery. But, surprisingly, the position comprises a lot more tasks, one of which is to conduct sermons, or prayers, at the Church. While this is an important job, players must first complete tasks for the Bishop and obtain the Preacher perk before they can perform sermons.

By preaching, players get Faith, a valuable resource that may be used to study objects at the Study Table, make more sermons, craft higher-tier stone works, and generate zombies. Some sermons also grant players brief benefits that aid in farming, battling, and collecting more donations.

5. Prayer for Shoots and Roots

With this prayer, a few words about the importance of agriculture, fertilization, and, interestingly, personal hygiene are preached. Performing this sermon will provide you with a Fertility effect that affects the growth rates of crops.

This works with writing different written crafts, such as stories, chapters,  notes, etc. For the sermon to be successful, it needs at least 20 Church Rating.

The quality of the sermon depends on the quality of the materials used, and for the sermon to be successful, it needs at least 15 Church Rating.

To make that happen, they can create a prayer just for it, called the Prayer for Repose. This prayer is essentially an advertisement that all the deceased are welcome in your graveyard! It also provides the Repose buff over several days and affects the skull rating of the corpses Donkey brings.
