Looking for some new games to play.

Hey folks, im just wondering if you can help me find some new games to play, preferably in the RPG genre, but anything thats relatively story rich and has good gameplay will do. Please exclude any AAA titles like skyrim, or mass effect. Im looking for out of the norm games that i probably wont have even heard of. Thanks in advance!

Marc Ecko’s Getting Up. One of the Top 5 Most Original Games I’ve ever played. Intense story line, Visually stunning graphics and an innovative Graffiti system that was ahead of it’s time.

A few that haven't been mentioned, but there's a better chance you've already heard of them:

Aragami

Sundered

Nier: Automata(I know this one came from Square Enix, but anyone who hasn't played it,
should; social and psychological commentary a plenty here.)

Far: Lone Sails

Prey: Mooncrash(It's a DLC of the base game that's, in my honest opinion, better than the game.)

Well, there are a lot of great RPGs out there; I don't know whether you are looking for free-to-play games, or for paid titles, but I have a few recommendations for each. ADOM is a fantastic roguelike RPG that has both a graphical mode, and a traditional ASCII interface for those with a nostalgic bent. It has a decently deep story, and various endings possible depending on specific actions taken during the game. Also, the sheer degree of potential character customization is great. Siralim 3 is one I am playing right now. It's less of a traditional RPG, and more along the lines of Pokémon... if the monsters were less cutesy, the tactics were way deeper, and the storyline were at least a little better developed. This is a paid title, but totally worth every cent of the cost, and the rest of the series is good too. Iji (especially the 2017 update) is a sci-fi themed action RPG. It's lots of fun, and a very interesting take on ARPGs in general, and also features a lot of different ways that different story events can play out depending on prior choices/behavior of the player. Also, it's free, so if you're on a budget, give it a go. Alvora Tactics is a great tactics-style RPG for Windows. It's about 10 bucks, if I recall correctly, but again, it's worth the price of admission; the potential number of team designs is staggering, and I love the retro feel of the graphics in the game. Asylum: Secret of Caledria is a great free JRPG with a solid story and a lot of interesting mechanics inspired by many of the great games of old. It is, so far as I know, still in demo mode, which is a bit of a downer, but it shows a lot of promise, and the content that DOES exist is engaging, so it might be worth your time to grab it and give it a look. I will no doubt come across others as I go through my library of games, but these alone should keep you busy for a long while if you choose to check them out.

I would reccomend this game called OneShot. It's more puzzles than anything else but the story is really cool and it's a lot like Undertale.

If you're interested in CRPGs then Pillars of Eternity is a good one. The setting is a bit "darker" than most, in some ways but it's quite good. The system is also a bit more modern and it's just generally a very good game. This next one depends on how interested you are in evil settings but Tyranny could be a good one. The game has a great twist to the typical fantasy plotline in that you are working for the bad guys. And you aren't just working for them, you are literally one of the chief lieutenants of the evil overlord's right-hand man. Making questionable decisions is incredibly commonplace but they approach it in an excellent way that really makes you consider how far you are willing to go for the sake of "peace". And I just feel like it does a great job at it. Besides that, maybe give Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 a look. I hope that helps. Have Fun!
