New Gameplay Footage Released from the upcoming Dishonored 2.

Dishonored 2 is one of the most anticipated games for the upcoming holiday season, and this newly released trailer shows some of the unique and bloody ways you can dispose of enemies.

1) About Dishonored 2

Dishonored 2 takes place fifteen years after the events of the first game, when Emily Kaldwin, the daughter of the previous empress, is abruptly overthrown by an otherworldly entity. After a certain point in the game, players can choose to continue playing as Emily or switch to the original protagonist of the first game and Emily’s father, Corvo Attano. Like the previous game, missions can be completed violently or stealthily, with an overall chaos system used to determine the state of the world and the behaviors of the NPC’s within.

2) Creative Kills

The new trailer shows off a variety of powers that can be used individually and combined with others to dispose of enemies in a number of ways. You can summon a doppelganger of yourself to misdirect foes, link multiple enemies together and destroy all of them in one fell swoop, or stop time to position targets in the blast of a bomb. These powers are unique to either character, and can be individually developed along lethal or non-lethal branches, depending on your preferred play style.

Gain access to new powers with Dishonored 2’s female protagonist.

3) The News So Far

Traverse new locations for you to unleash your otherworldly powers.

The majority of Dishonored 2 will take place in the city of Karnaca, with the main goal for both characters being to restore Emily to the throne. A new mechanic in the sequel is the random assignment of NPC  “states” at the beginning of each mission. These states are sympathetic, guilty, and murderous. NPC’s that are killed will fill up the chaos meter an amount that is dependent on their state- sympathetic ones will earn more while murderous ones will earn less. Players also have the option to reject the powers offered from the Outsider, leading to a new challenge in gameplay. The game’s creator has also reported that there will be more than two endings available, dependent on the amount of chaos accumulated by the end of the game.

Dishonored 2 is looking to be a promising enhancement to the original game’s mechanics as well as offering some exciting new additions. The game is currently set for a November 11th release date on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
