Morrowind is home of the Dunmer, or more widely known as the Dark Elves. It is a beautiful land of  mysterious magic but also one of great danger. For some time the dark shadow of the evil god Dagoth Ur has been spreading over the land unopposed. It will only be a matter of time before all of Morrowind is consumed by the dark forces of evil. But there is still hope, a prophecy told aeons ago, that the reincarnation of the great Dunmer hero Indoril Nerevar will come and save Morrowind in its darkest hour.

You are this hero. Also known as the Nerevarine you are tasked with putting a stop to the machinations of Dagoth Ur and saving the world. Travel across the land of the Dark Elves and learn about their unique history and culture, before raising your sword in defiance of the evil god.

The game introduced me to the wonders of open-world gameplay. It can be too overwhelming if you're used to more linear games, but once you get used to it it's one of the best gaming experience you'll have.

The sheer scope of the map was unlike any I encountered when I first played this game. I was at a loss when I dropped into the world, not sure what to do. This is one of those games where it is extremely important to listen to what the NPCs have to say. My only complaint would have to be this: the death of NPCs you might never run into can break the main quest. ALWAYS save your game, even if it's every five minutes. You'll regret it if you don't.

First elder scrolls game I played, and definitely one of the most (if not THE most) memorable gaming experiences ever
