Welcome everyone, welcome to the world of Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Come on ,don t be afraid, let me walk you in. It's a world full of miracles, dangers, elves, dwarves, monsters, and pretty women, where can you beat monsters, have many girlfriends, get drunk until the morning, all while being wrongfully accused of slaying a king and half the world hating you for that. All of these is powered by REDengine, which is very impressive graphically, including ultra-res textures and a lot of advanced lighting effects. While the previous installment was very good, this iteration breaths a lot of life into the RPG genre by adding a stylish combat, a potion mastering system, with a ton of side quests to drift you aside from pursuing the main story and get lost in the wonders. Geralt of Rivia, the main protagonist, is a witcher, meaning he gets paid by killing monsters while also being a mutant. For him, life is a tough one, but i'm sure, we the gamers will help him on his journey.

It's hard not to notice how Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings is a testament to the influence gamers have over the companies they buy their products from. And I say that because although many of us loved the first Witcher game, it was rather hard to recommend it to new players, who had never experienced its combat system, especially in a period when developers were searching for a more "real feel" to their games. As a result, CD Projekt managed to integrate all the good aspects which the original Witcher game offered and further improve on the more lacking aspects. So we now had Witcher 2, or what some called "the fantasy version of Mass Effect, minus the squad". And I tend to agree with that comparison, given the fact that both games manage to successfully achieve almost the same objectives - an in-depth story, based around fascinating novels (which almost no one read, but that's another tale), an intricate (and revamped) combat system, immersive character design and a very detailed choice system, with a plethora of options to make your character actually feel like it's yours. In a world of dirty politicians, ghosts, hookers, double-crossing mages and witches and surprising allegiances and betrayals, the player take on the role of Geralt of Rivia, a character which has been at the heart of the matter. Travel to the marvelously-designed lands of Kaedwen, Redania, Nilfgaard, Temeria and many more, for business or pleasure or even both! Experience the world of Witcher 2, which manages to beautifully mix together gambling, bounty hunting, contract killing, politics, Fight Club-styled arenas, sexual intercourse, betrayals and friendships; all of these, combined with a Dark Ages theme, offer the player an immersive fantastic analogy of many of today's realities.

If you long to spend 80 or 90 hours in a fantasy world that doesn't pull punches or bull**** you, you'd love being Geralt of Rivia. A stoic hero and a prolific lover, Geralt is the ultimate alpha male in a fantasy world that is refreshingly devoid of the trite, unsubtle, "these-are-clearly-the-good-guys-and-they-must-stop-evil" nature that seems too common in the genre. Geralt's world is full of shades of gray, with well-intentioned thieves, corrupt politicians, and rapist kings. As a result, the world feels truer and more believable than perhaps any fantasy realm that came before it.
