The protagonist using fire to fight an Athenian soldier

Trying to conquer Ancient Greece but your weapons are useless and as ugly as Hephaestus? Fear not, I’ve got you covered! Throughout the game, you’ll encounter thousands of weapons that will help you become legendary misthios. I’ve created this article to help you see the stats, information, and tips on the top 10 best weapons you can find early to late game.

Short remainder and explanation - the weapons in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey vary in terms of their boosts and damage per second depending on their level. Some weapons can be upgraded constantly, raising their DPS. Some weapons, if obtained later in the game at a higher level, can also have different stats. In this article, the stats are according to weapons obtained at a given level.

Without further ado, here is the ranking:

1. Spear of Kephalos

Kassandra using the Spear of Kephalos

Do you want a rare weapon right at the start of your Odyssey? If yes, then Spear of Kephalos is exactly what you need to get. Named after a figure to whom Kephallonia owns its name, the spear is one of the first rare armaments you can lay your hands on.

The spears throughout AC: Odyssey are great if you like long-distance fighting. They let you keep your distance, but at the same time, they deal a lot of damage. This can be combined with certain abilities to make your fights even more effective. Before ending the first act of the game at Kephallonia be sure to get this weapon. It will make the early gameplay much easier and more enjoyable. Nevertheless, spears are not suitable for super fast attacks. Despite this, I would still recommend getting the Spear of Kephalos, because getting better weapons later on will be easier with it.

For the beginning of your odyssey across Ancient Greece, this weapon will come in handy.

What we love about Spear of Kephalos:

  • a perfect weapon to have when ending the first chapter of the game
  • do you love long-range fighting? Then this spear is for you
  • rare item you can get early in the game
  • gives you boosts in hunting

How to get Spear of Kephalos:

When you begin the game on Kephallonia Island you can find the quest “In the Footsteps of Gods.” During the quest, you will go to the Melissani Cave. Once there, after diving and getting back up to the surface, you will have to kill foes and grab the treasure with the spear. Once you go back to the priestess you have to lie about finding the spear to keep it. To retain the spear choose the dialogue option “I couldn’t find it.”

Spear of Kephalos stats:

  • Stats for level: 2
  • Rare Spear
  • 26 DPS
  • +5% Hunter Damage

Description: “A spear like this one could only be the stuff of legend. A gift from the gods, it should never miss its target

2. Nikolaos Sword

Kassandra using the Nikolaos Sword

When starting your adventure in Ancient Greece, this weapon is a must-have. Obtained not too long after you leave Kephallonia, Nikolaos Sword is an excellent tool to help you through early-game. Nikolaos Sword kills in a fast and quick way. The weapon is perfect for battle and gives extra perks when fighting the Athenians.

It is also a great combination when used along with the Spartan Kick ability. This way you can become a true Spartan. This sword is the best option to start the adventure with. If you want to feel like a true Spartan soldier, then this is the right weapon.

Fun fact, it was designed based on the “300” movie’s swords so that is a great plus.

What we love about Nikolaos Sword:

  • easily obtained right after leaving the home in Kephallonia
  • the stats are great for early game
  • legendary type weapon
  • it buffs Spartan Kick ability so you can kick your opponents off the cliff yelling “This is SPARTA!!!”

How to get Nikolaos Sword:

To receive this sword you need to complete “The Wolf of Sparta” quest. Do not worry, since you cannot miss this quest, it is part of the main storyline. Once you leave Kephallonia and get to Megaris just follow the orders given by Stentor and after the battle, you will meet Nikolaos. After a conversation with him, you will get the sword.

Nikolaos Sword stats:

  • Stats for level: 9
  • Legendary Sword
  • 161 DPS
  • +7% Warrior Damage
  • +8% Damage on Athenian Soldiers
  • +20% Damage with Sparta Kick Ability

Overall, it is a must-have for Sparta-loving players. It is a badass weapon that makes you feel like Leonidas from “300”, what else is there to add?

Aiming Artemis's Bow

For all fans of archery and hunting. This is the perfect bow at early levels too. Firstly, it is a legendary item. And secondly, it has great stats.

The Artemis’s Bow is especially great for hunting and killing prey. It deals additional damage to them, while also having buffs to bow charging speed. A fast and powerful bow to have in your inventory. Its name derives from the goddess, what else is there to say?

It is a great bow, powerful, and ideal early in the game. The stats are very decent, especially when having “Predator Shot” ability.

4. Hammer of Jason

Kassandra equipped with Hammer of Jason

Strong and heavy weapons are perfect for you? Then you should get Hammer of Jason. This heavy blunt is a perfect legendary weapon for the mid-game, which you can get fairly quickly around level 20. Like all heavy blunts, Hammer of Jason’s main focus is on brute strength. You will swing this weapon with a huge force, crushing your opponents with it. The huge damage as well as additional perks of the blunt will help you kill adversaries in just a few heavy blows.

I am not a huge fan of heavy blunts, as they are slow and I prefer more fast-paced battles. However, if you like this style of play where you bash enemies with heavy damage, then Hammer of Jason will suit you perfectly. Additional perks of the weapon will also make it easier to go against shielded and more difficult foes.

What we love about Hammer of Jason:

  • boosts warrior damage
  • perfect to use with Shield Break Ability
  • huge damage weapon for the beginning of mid-game
  • additional damage is added when using it
  • it is a legendary item

How to get Hammer of Jason:

To get Hammer of Jason you need to go to Mycenae Fort located in Argolis. There are a lot of soldiers at the fort, so you will have to clean it while looking for the hammer. It can be found in one of the chests inside the fort.

5. Prometheus's Sika

Using Prometheus's Sika

Fire is your greatest ally, or at least with Prometheus’s Sika, it can be. This sword is perfect to use when you have Flaming Attacks and Fire Mastery abilities. The sword is worth bearing the name of the fire thief himself.

In my first gameplay, I used this weapon for a very long time. I loved the fire abilities and this sword was ideal to combine it with them. When the abilities and the sword are combined, it makes for a true hell of a weapon.

What we love about Prometheus’s Sika:

  • boosts warrior damage
  • boosts fire damage significantly
  • boosts fire buildup
  • ideal if swords are your go-to
  • makes massive damage when used with fire abilities
  • getting it is challenging but rewarding

How to get Prometheus’s Sika:

Now, here is the tricky part. It is not very difficult to get the sword, but it may take some time. To get Prometheus’s Sika you need to defeat Mercenaries. One of them will drop the sword at random. Look for mercenaries with “Spark” in their name. Don’t be discouraged though, this will help you level up, defeat new enemies, and get much better gear.

Prometheus’s Sika stats:

  • Stats for level: 26
  • Legendary Sword
  • 871 DPS
  • +11% Warrior Damage
  • +12% Fire Damage

6. Dagger of Kronus

Kassandra wielding the Dagger of Kronus

Ok, this one is a badass weapon in every sense. Dagger of Kronus is perfect for players in mid-game who love quick battles and like a weapon perfect for assassins. This dagger has all the necessary components to be perfect for such a style of play. The dagger kills in a very swift way. It is perfect for attacking when sneaking from behind, but also when attacking enemies with a bow, as it boosts your ability. All in all, a very multifunctional weapon. In my opinion, this one is perfect. I loved using it, I loved its boosts, and loved the mythology hidden behind it with its name and description. I love rapid battles and this one is perfect for those. You can also see this link to get an overview of this awesome weapon:

What we love about Dagger of Kronus:

  • extremely all-rounded boosts
  • perfect for quick attacks
  • the best kind of weapon to use while sneaking
  • for people loving feeling like “real” assassins in new RPG-style Assassin’s Creed games
  • a huge bonus for attacking from behind
  • staggering design of the dagger

How to get Dagger of Kronus:

Usually, you will end up gaining this dagger around the 30th level. To get it, you need to kill all of the members of the Eyes of Kosmos. Once you do it, you will uncover the identity of the Sage, Nyx the Shadow, who will be in the Heights of Thorikos. After killing Nyx, loot her to obtain the dagger.

Dagger of Kronus Stats:

7. Arachne's Stingers

Kassandra using Arachne's Stingers

On my last play through this was the one weapon I used all the time since getting it. It is so perfect! If you want to feel like an assassin and if you want to use all poison abilities while gaining bonuses, then this weapon is the one you need. Arachne’s Stingers, just like all daggers, is a quick weapon, perfect for assassins sneaking and trying to attack in secret. It is used to kill in a very swift manner. If you are using abilities that apply poison to your weapon, Arachne’s Stingers boost those abilities very efficiently. You probably guessed by now that I really like this dagger. Daggers are my favorite weapons in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, so I used this weapon a lot in the mid-game. However, if you do not have any poison abilities, then I would rather recommend you use a different weapon.

What we love about Arachne’s Stingers:

  • high DPS
  • legendary dagger
  • perfect for assassin attacks
  • works perfectly with poison abilities
  • swift and murderous weapon
  • ideal if you apply poison damage

How to get Arachne’s Stingers:

Getting this weapon is almost the same case as with Prometheus’s Sika. You need to defeat a mercenary with “The Weaver” in their name. Once you find such a mercenary and defeat him, don’t forget to loot his body to receive Arachne’s Stingers.

Arachne’s Stingers Stats:

  • Stats for level 36
  • Legendary Dagger
  • 1498 DPS
  • +13% Assassin Damage
  • +20% Poison Damage

8. Hades's Bow

Kassandra using the Hades's Bow to shoot fire arrow

Is this the best bow in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey? Probably yes. If not, then it is the coolest. Its design is perfect, the stats are insane and the boosts are ideal. Hades’s Bow certainly lives up to its name. After all, every arrow shot from it becomes a fire arrow. Moreover, it boosts fire and warrior damage significantly. Perfect killing weapon straight from hell. As with most mid to late-game weapons, Hades’s Bow suits the player best with certain abilities. If your gameplay is oriented on fire abilities, then this bow is perfect. However, remember that if you do not necessarily use fire abilities, or you hunt with your bow a lot, then you will not use Hades’s Bow to its full potential.

What we love about Hades’s Bow:

  • the design is straight from hell
  • fire boosts
  • let everything burn just as if you were in Hades
  • extra warrior damage inflicted
  • all your arrows become fire arrows
  • the best or one of two-three best bows in the game

How to get Hades’s Bow:

Such a strong weapon needs an uncommon way to obtain it. Once you hit level 44, you can be targeted by the mercenary “Of the Ashen Wake” in their name. Once you defeat this mercenary, you can loot his body to get Hades’s Bow. Here’s the tip to get it quicker - try raising your bounty level to maximum and wait for this mercenary to appear.

Hades’s Bow Stats:

  • Stats for level: 44
  • Legendary Bow
  • 1823 DPS
  • +15% Warrior Damage
  • +20% Fire Damage
  • Basic Arrows become Fire Arrows

9. Mallet of Everlasting Flame

Kassandra wielding the Mallet of Everlasting Flame

Now it is time for a heavy blunt that was created to bring hell to your enemies. Mallet of Everlasting Flame is a legendary weapon that burns constantly, inflicting fire damage to your opponents. If you want to see it in action, just go see this video:

This weapon smashes. Literally. Its main focus is to execute your enemies with heavy and strong attacks. Plus, while doing it, it sets your opponents on fire. Brutal and deadly.

As I already mentioned, I am not a fan of heavy blunts. However, when using fire abilities, this is my go-to. This weapon is the highest point for any player using heavy blunts throughout the game.

What we love about Mallet of Everlasting Flame:

  • boosts warrior damage
  • boosts fire damage
  • it literally burns all the time
  • legendary weapon
  • huge DPS
  • design
  • greatest heavy blunt in the game

How to get Mallet of Everlasting Flame:

There are two conditions to obtain this heavy blunt. Yet again you need to defeat a mercenary to get Mallet of Everlasting Flame. The mercenary will have “The Smoldering” in their name this time. Secondly, you need to be at level 46 at least. Don’t forget to loot the body after the fight.

Mallet of Everlasting Flame Stats:

  • Stats for level: 46
  • Legendary Heavy Blunt
  • 2260 DPS
  • +15% Warrior Damage
  • +20% Fire Damage

10. Harpe of Perseus

Kassandra wielding the Harpe of Perseus

Here we are, the last weapon on the list. I used it obsessively at the end of the game. The blade of legendary Perseus himself. What’s more, it is the perfect weapon to slaughter your enemies effectively when finishing the game.

The Harpe of Perseus has one huge advantage over other weapons in terms of how it kills. It gives a cooldown effect for all abilities. Plainly speaking, you can use the abilities more frequently and kill your enemies much easier by fighting more offensively. In my opinion, this is certainly one of the best weapons in the game. It allows you to use all abilities in reduced time.

On my part, Harpe of Perseu fits very well with my very offensive style of play, where I like to fight huge numbers of enemies at once. The perfect weapon for such a style of playing.

What we love about Harpe of Perseus:

  • cools down time to use abilities
  • legendary sword
  • weapon of the one and only Perseus
  • huge boosts
  • perfect for an aggressive style of play
  • ideal when battling a lot of opponents
  • the best weapon to use when fighting conquest battles
  • might as well be your final weapon to use in the game
  • a bit curved look of the sword

How to get Harpe of Perseus:

I strongly recommend you get this weapon at level 50. There are a few quests you need to follow to get Harpe of Perseus and the first on the list is “Romancing the Stone Garden” which can be found in Petrified Valley on Lesbos island. Once you complete a few quests, the final one will see you fight Medusa, probably the strongest opponent in the game. This battle is a tough one, so make sure you are at level 50 and your gear is adequate. After you beat her, you can receive the sword.

Harpe of Perseus Stats:

  • Stats for level: 50
  • Legendary Sword
  • 2599 DPS
  • +15% Hunter Damage
  • +25% CRIT Damage
  • -25% Cooldown  Duration for All Abilities
