From Paris France during the French Revolution to Ancient Egypt in 300 BC all while providing the player with a wide variety of different methods to defeat their foes ranging from different weapons to different paths.

I'll tell you my top 7 of the 13 games in the series new players should play in 2024.

7) Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood 2010 (PS3 & Xbox 360):

We’ll start our list off at number 7 with Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Brotherhood takes us back to the Renaissance in Italy. Players step into the iconic boots of Ezio Auditore, continuing his quest for justice.

Rome becomes the sprawling battleground as Ezio aims to dethrone the Templars, eradicating their influence in the city.

What sets Brotherhood apart is the introduction of the Brotherhood system, allowing players to recruit and deploy fellow assassins, and being the first game in the series to feature a multiplayer mode.

6) Assassin’s Creed Rogue 2014 (PS3 & Xbox 360):

Dropping down to number six we have Assassin's Creed Rogue, this installment throws a complete curve ball to the fans, as players take on the role of Shay Patrick Cormac, a former Assassin turned Templar.

The game explores the other side of the blade, delving into Shay's motivations and the consequences of his actions when he was an Assassin. Taking an unexpected turn where the Assassins are now your enemies.

With naval gameplay and ties to previous titles, Rogue stands out as a hidden gem in the series. Any more information about it would spoil the amazing story and truth behind the plot twist.

5) Assassin’s Creed Unity 2014 (PS4,Windows,& Xbox One):

Sneaking into the fifth position is Assassin's Creed Unity taking place during the French Revolution.

Despite being a buggy mess upon release, Unity over time became a great game.

The game shows off breathtakingly amazing visuals, with an overhauled parkour system that took everything from the original games, polished them up, and cranked them up to 10.

Unity had a one-of-a-kind parkour feel that allowed players to freely traverse the amazingly recreated and highly detailed streets of Paris during the French Revolution.

The addition of co-op multiplayer adds an amazing social element, the ability to work with friends to coordinate and take out targets made Unity a memorable experience; every new player to the series should check out.

4) Assassin’s Creed 3 2012 (PS3 & Xbox 360):

Claiming the fourth spot on our list is Assassin's Creed 3, set during the American Revolution.

Players step into the shoes of Connor, a Native American / British American Assassin on a quest for justice and to defend his people during the conflicts between America and Britain.

The historical setting, combined with Connor's battles, creates a captivating story.

The Naval battles, the introduction of hunting, and Connor's style of parkour utilizing the natural landscapes add layers to the gameplay, making the game stand out in the series.

3) Assassin’s Creed Revelations 2011 (PS3, Xbox 360, Windows):

Revelations take us to the sprawling city of Constantinople. The game mixes the stories of Altair, Ezio, and Desmond, bringing closure to the story for long-time fans.

The addition of the new hookblade completely changed the parkour mechanic allowing for new styles, paths, and faster climbing.

Lastly, bomb-crafting brought a fresh element to the game allowing players to make bombs to choose their style from lethal thunder bombs to tactical smoke screen bombs.

2) Assassins Creed 2 2009 (PS3 & Xbox 360):

Landing in second is the game that gained the series its popularity, Assassin's Creed 2.

This game introduced us to the poster child of the series, Ezio Auditore, this game laid the foundation for the franchise's success.

The Renaissance setting, winding storyline, and memorable characters make it a timeless classic worth playing alone.

1)Assassins Creed Black Flag 2013 (PS3, Xbox 360, & Wii U):

Ending our list and taking the top spot as the number one must-play Assassin's Creed game is the all-around favorite of the series Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

We set sail on an adventure as Edward Kenway in the Caribbean Islands on his ship the Jackdaw.

Kenway, a pirate-turned-assassin, gets into countless naval battles and explores the seas and islands around him. The intense ship-to-ship combat, and an amazing storyline, make it one of the best Assassin's Creed experiences despite parkour not being at its core.
