With over 100 perks for survivors in Dead by Daylight, it's safe to assume players have a plethora of ways to contribute to the game, help their team and outlast relentless assaults from the killer. Naturally, some are more powerful than others and today we're going to look at the top 10 strongest perks for survivors up to Chapter 29: Alien (released Aug 29 2023).

10. Hope

This is an end game perk that increases your movement speed by 7% for the rest of the trial. An end game perk only activates once all the generators are completed or when you're the last survivor standing and the hatch is closed.

This is the only perk that increases movement speeds of walking and running without causing the exhaustion status effect in the whole game. As soon as the exit gates are powered you gain a 5/6/7% Haste status effect. Haste increases Survivor movement speed.

9. Lucky Break

From character Yui Kimura, this perk allows your scratch marks and pools of blood to be hidden for a max of 60 seconds. Once the timer runs out or you've been healed the perk deactivates. You can recharge the timer by 1 second for each second spent healing another survivor. This perk is great at escaping the killer's grasp and paired with other perks like calm spirit and iron will make it rather difficult for the killer to find you.

Lucky Break activates any time you are injured. While Lucky Break is active, you won't leave trails of blood or scratch marks for a total of 40/50/60 seconds. For each 1 second spent healing another Survivor, increase Lucky Break's duration by 1 second. Lucky Break's duration cannot increase beyond its starting value.

8. Prove Thyself

This is a perk from base survivor Dwight Fairfield increasing the rate at which you and your teammates repair generators by a compounding 10% within 8 meters of each other. Before it was nerfed, this perk granted a 15% compounding bonus and was solely responsible for the ‘gen rushing’ era of Dead by Daylight.

However, it is still a very powerful and reliable perk able to put immense pressure on the killer to secure the win. For every other Survivor working on a generator within a 4 meter range, gain 6/8/10% repair speed bonus. This same bonus is also applied to all other Survivors within range. Survivors can only be affected by one Prove Thyself effect at a time.

7. Bond

Another perk from Dwight Fairfield, we have Bond. Bond allows you to see the auras of all other survivors within a max range of 36 meters from your location at any given time. This perk synergizes well with prove thyself as you can see who's working on a generator and provide a boost.

Also, this is a great information ability as you get to see exactly where your teammates are, what they are doing and how you can help. It even works when your teammates are injured and in chase so you can go for a heal or pinpoint where the killer is. Unlocks potential in one's aura reading ability. Allies' auras are revealed to you when they are within a 20/28/36 meter range.

6. Resilience

The injured speed boost perk that is resilience is one you will see a lot being played. This perk gives you a 9% speed bonus to just about every survivor action: repairing, vaulting, unhooking, cleansing totem, healing etc.

This is the only perk of its kind in the whole game and when paired with made for this (before nerf) was a deadly combo. You are motivated in dire situations. Grants 3/6/9% additional speed when repairing, sabotaging, healing, unhooking, vaulting, cleansing or blessing a Totem, opening exit gates, and unlocking while injured.

5. Deja Vu

Deja Vu was not a good perk, but since its rework and immense buff, this perk has surprisingly become one of the most used survivor perks in the game. Deja Vu lets you see the aura of three generators within close proximity to each other in red. Working on one of those generators gives you a permanent 6% repair speed boost.

What makes this perk powerful, especially in comparison to other generator progression perks like prove thyself, Is that One: it gives you information on where the generators are. Two: It allows you to stop the dreaded "3 gen" which was the basis for the rework (3 gening is a term used for when only one generator is left that needs to be completed but, they are all in close proximity to each other to where the killer can snowball the team or stall the game). Three: It doesn't require other teammates for the speed boost nor do you need to be injured.

The auras of 3 generators which are in close proximity to one another are revealed to you. Gain a 4/5/6% repair speed bonus on the revealed generators.

4. Windows of Opportunity

Escaping the killer can be challenging. So as a survivor, having a lay of the land is crucial. From Kate Denson, enters the perk Windows of Opportunity. This perk (within a 32 meter range) gives you the aura of all pallets and vaulting options.

This perk allows you to plan for the inevitable and increases your chances of getting away as this perk can be solely responsible for looping a killer for hours. Unlocks potential in one's aura reading ability. Auras of pallets, breakable walls, and vault locations are revealed to you when within a 24/28/32 meter range.

2. Sprint Burst & Lithe

Tied for second we have the two most powerful exhaustion perks in the game from Meg Thomas and Feng Min respectively. Sprint Burst makes you run 150% faster for 3 seconds when starting to sprint. Lithe makes you also sprint 150% faster for 3 seconds, but after doing a rush vault. Sprint Burst is easier to pull off between the two so most would assume that perk is better. However, both of these perks have their own situations in which they do really well.

Where Sprint Burst shines in getting out of sticky situations fast. For example: Let's say a killer's coming up behind you right before finishing a generator, you can finish it and then immediately sprint burst away avoiding being hit. Lithe shines in occupying the killer. For example: Let's say you're being chased and you start to run making it to a pallet or window location. You then run the killer for as long as possible and right when the killer thinks they've got you, boom! rush over that window or pallet getting, a speed boost and avoid being hit.

Although they are both the strongest exhaustion perks in the game, due to the fact they have the same function while being beneficial in different circumstances they are both tied for 2nd place. Sprint Burst: When starting to run, break into a sprint at 150% of your normal running speed for a maximum of 3 seconds. Causes the Exhausted status effect for 60/50/40 seconds. Sprint Burst cannot be used while Exhausted.

You do not recover from the Exhausted status effect while running. Exhausted prevents Survivors from activating exhausting perks Lithe: After performing a rushed vault, break into a sprint at 150% of your normal running speed for a maximum of 3 seconds. Causes the Exhausted status effect for 60/50/40 seconds. Lithe cannot be used while Exhausted. Exhausted prevents Survivors from activating exhausting perks.

1. Alert

The killer is the only thing that can remove you from the game besides a faulty internet connection. So knowing where they are at all times is the most crucial to your survival. Alert is another perk from Feng min and shows you the aura of the killer for 5 sec whenever they do a break action.

No matter where they are on the map and as long as they aren't undetectable (a killer status effect that stops their aura from being read) you will be able to see them when doing a break action.

Many would rightly assume that if a killer is undetectable this perk is useless. Surprisingly; it's not. Why? because if you hear a break action while having this perk, but it doesn't show you the aura of the killer, that can give you a lot of information very early in the game such as: which perk the killer might be using and which killer you may be potentially going up against.

Dramatically enhancing your survival, the knowledge you gain from utilizing this perk makes Alert the stronger survivor perk in Dead by Daylight. When the Killer performs a break action, the Killer is revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds.
