FF14 Best Ways to Farm MGP

Senor Sabotender of the Manderville Gold Saucer

Whether you’re a veteran player or a newbie to Final Fantasy 14, you’ve no doubt run across the kooky gambling hall, The Manderville Gold Saucer, and have seen some of the exclusive mounts, hairstyles, and emotes offered as rewards. These rewards can only be bought with MGP, a currency obtained through mini-games in the Saucer, rather than gil, making them a little more difficult to buy. However, prioritize these five methods, and with a little luck, you’ll be racking up MGP in no time.

5) Mini Cactpot

Mini-Cactpot Info

The Mini-Cactpot is a daily scratch-off card that costs 10 MGP to play and rewards range from 36 to 10,000 MGP. The game partially relies on luck of the draw because some cards may have lower MGP prize caps than others, and it can only be played up to three times a day. The Mini-Cactpot may not reap insane amounts of MGP, but if done daily and with the help of a solver, the rewards can add up.

4) Gold Saucer VIP Card

VIP Card Info

Unlike the other methods on this list, the VIP card isn’t a game that rewards MGP but a buff, and a pretty hefty one at that. Once used, the VIP card boosts MGP gain for 2 hours by 15%. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with any Free Company buffs or on the weekly challenge log rewards, but it can boost the rewards from the individual challenges themselves like the GATEs, Chocobo Races, and Lord of Verminion as well as big MGP earners like the Weekly Fashion Report and the Jumbo Cactpot.

3) Jumbo Weekly Cactpot

Jumbo Cactpot Info

Although only a weekly prize, the Jumbo Cactpot offers far higher rewards than the mini-cactpot and is always worth cashing out a couple MGP for. On each Cactpot card, you’ll pick four numbers, with rewards growing depending on how many of the four numbers were correct. The cards cost 100 (with each card you buy after that costing 50 more MGP) up to a total of three cards for the week. Jumbo Cactpot numbers are announced on Saturdays at 2 P.M. universal time, and with three chances at over a million MGP and other MGP prizes, the Jumbo Cactpot is an easy way to grab some MGP. You’ll also be able to snag a bonus if you pick up your Cactpot reward within one hour of the announcement.

2) Weekly Fashion Report

Fashion Report Info

The Weekly Fashion Report is a pseudo mini-game that is actually easy to miss even though it offers a pretty substantial amount of MGP for very little effort. Updated every Tuesday, the Fashion Report has you speak to NPC Masked Rose who will give you a hint to what the week’s fashion theme is. Typically, the items needed are fairly easy to obtain if you haven’t already obtained them just playing through the game, and sometimes all you’ll have to do is dye a couple of items in the gear set. If you receive a score of 80 on the report, you’ll win 50,000 MGP along with the 10,000 participation reward. Additionally, you’ll have up to four tries at the report per week. If you’re having trouble deciphering the theme each week, check out players like Kaiyoko, who posts Fashion Report items for each week.

1) Weekly Challenge Logs

Challenge Logs Info

Completing your weekly challenge logs for Gold Saucer events and games will give you the bulk of your MGP. Most of the logs are fairly easy and reward you a couple thousand MGP for playing a certain amount of mini-games, or participating in chocobo races and GATEs. Most of the logs don’t even require you to win the games for rewards, only participate, and the rewards range from 1,000 MGP to 12,000. If using a VIP card, you can boost MGP gain while running through each of the logs.
