Top 10 New Adventure Games 2019 That Will Blow You Away

New Adventure Games 2019
Well, good morning to you too!

Here's a list of 10 new adventure games to play this year.

10. Days Gone

(Who is the true enemy? The hordes or your fellow man?)

If Jon Snow rode a motorcycle and dressed like a zombie apocalypse survivor, he would be the protagonist of Days Gone. The game is centered around Deacon, a man who is a loner, afraid of being needed but embraces the call as a battle of morality rises among the humans who haven’t become part of the zombie horde.

Top 3 Things That Make This Game Great

  • A great collection of weapons at your disposal.
  • Good character development that shows a steady progression.
  • Of course, killing hordes!

Never ask for directions.

Good doggy...

9. Outer Wilds

Outer Wilds Gameplay

If you had 22 minutes to live, what would you do? This is a pointless question since in the game Outer Wilds those 22 minutes will be spent to try and find a way to survive on a harsh planet that the player has no idea how they got to and where the sun will be going supernova.where the sunwhere the  sun will be going super nova.

This is a race against the clock scenario where the end of the 22min countdowncount down spells death but returns you back to life with a little more knowledge of how to make it to safety. Think Edge of Tomorrow vibes.

Top 3 Things That Make This Game Great:

  • Great immersion into the story.
  • A fun mystery/puzzle game that keeps the player engaged, even after death.
  • A surprisingly challenging experience.

One of the few dangerous inhabitants of Outer Wilds.

This remins me of a funny joke....run!

8. Shenmue 3

After achieving a successful Kickstarter page to push for development, the third installment of this martial arts saga is slated to come sometime during the fall of 2019. We will see the main character, Ryo Hazuki, continue his journey as he searches for those who killed his father., something that has spanned two games already.

Shenmue 3 will be a nice mix of fighting and storytelling, something that a pure fighting game never does well. It’s trailer at E3 has only added more interest for those who were fans of the first two games and even for those who have never played them.

Top 3 Things That Make This Game Great:

  • A fluid story that feels connected to more and not just a throw in.
  • Fighting controls are easy to manage.
  • RA realistic training to make the character stronger. and makes training in a game actually fun, since training in real life is…well...blah.

Looks can be decieving....

Hand to hand combat is fluid in Shenmue 3

7. Metro Exodus

The year is 2033 and you are born into a post-apocalyptic Moscow, tasked with the mission to communicate that an impending danger is fast approaching. The only problem is you were born underground and have never seen the surface, welcome to Metro Exodus,. This is a stunningly gorgeous FPS., unlike anything seen before.

The story will be told both in dialogue and in landscape as your character transverses the world, dodging hyper evolved rats, apocalypse standard mutated humans, and of course a few uncooperative survivors. The firing system is smooth and though the game is a search, discover, and kill kind of flow, it never gets boring.

Top 3 Things That Make This Game Great:

  • Adrenaline pumping action whether with giant rodents, infected people, or jerks in masks.
  • The weapon selection makes shooting things so much fun but keeps a realistic feel so your guns do jam and ammo can be scarce…I mean we are in an apocalyptic world.
  • The landscape is stunning, mixed with this beauty of nature and the dark appeal of the apocalyptic world. Soo, it is easy to be immersed in being this post world hero.

Apocalypse never looked so good.

Give us a kiss. (Research lap ape)

6. The Sinking City

The Sinking City Gameplay

Merge L.A. Noir with BioShockBio Shock and you get this H.P. Lovecraft inspired game that is full of twists and dark paths that will keep the player engaged. You are a detective in 1920s Oakmont, Massachusetts investigating a mysterious flood that has captured the city.

There is no shortage of weird creatures and strange encounters in this unfolding story and it will keep you gripping the controller, even when the weirdness gets a bit frightening.

Top 3 Things That Make This Game Great:

  • A great mysterious story line that makes every discovery worth it as you find out more of who you are and what this place is.
  • Pretty damn great creatures you battle that will make you semi squeamish
  • A very functional game play that seems smooth which makes playing the game enjoyable.
  • One of the many stray animals in this lovely town.

What a lovely family?

So, is this where the tour starts?

5. Yakuza Kiwami 2

Yakuza Kiwami 2 Game Play

A remake of a remake, the story feels more like a collection of DLC content as it seems to continue along the story path of its previous game. You are Kazuma Kiryu, called back from a life of less violence and murder, ordered to now find a new chairman of your clan to avoid an all-out war between the two dominant families in crime.

The action is what it should be, violent and full of fists cracking jaws. There will be no shortage of that, and I anticipate some heavily dramatized dialogue, but if you are in need of a way to relieve some stress, this is the way to go.

Top 3 Things That Make This Game Great:

  • Duh, kicking butt as a Yakuza is all the reason you need…right? Ok, well how about the awesome collection of weapons at your disposal like hot ramen and a dirty plunger? Yep, knew that would get ya.
  • A good dialogue that propels the story, which is needed in a game like this.
  • Awesome collection of side games, like urinal high scores, gambling, and golf.

You can tell they are bad asses from the diapers.

When you do what you love it isn't work.

4. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Gameplay

A hero named “One Armed Wolf” in a game of feudal 1500s Japan is too good to pass up. You are athe disfigured and disgraced warrior seeking to recover his captured lord from the hands of whom seemone seem to be some pretty freaky looking characters and a powerful enemy lord.

It has an Onimusha feel only from the supernatural influences in the game, I mean where else in Japan can you find dudes who are 20ft tall swinging giant swords or giant Snakes? The gameplaygame play is far better though, much smoother, and with a more enjoyable engagement.

Top 3 Things That Make This Game Great:

  • Great controls that make fighting smooth and comfortable. That’s important when you are fighting 20ft tall monks and swamp like giants.
  • Great storytellingstory telling. Yes, the story does matter as you slice and dice your foes.
  • The boss gallery will keep you engaged, and no two bosses are the same so there will never been a feeling of repetition.

Stealth is your greatest asset.

I know he looks open for the kill but he really isn't.

3. The Outer Worlds

The wild west meets space is what we are dropped into when we play The Outer Worlds. It is an FPS that has you trying to figure out where your decade has gone after crash landing on the furthest colony of space. In a world ruled by corporations which have their grubby hands in everything, your character is one who has decisions to make with every interaction, play the hero. Play the Villain. Or do whatever the hell you want. The choice is yours.

Top 3 Things That Make This Game Great:

  • An intelligent game that is a living universe with every planet unique and part of the function of everything.
  • A masterpiece of pieces that come together, after many deaths, but satisfyingly so. You won’t mind being burned alive as you return to continue the knowledge from your pastlast lives.
  • An overall fun challenge that will not disappoint, unless you hate puzzles.

Who brings a sword to a futuristic gun fight?!

Gotta love a mutliple choice response system.

2. Death Stranding

Imagine a world where social media and the barrage of life exposure didn’t exist. Man has become an island to himself as mankind becomes more disjointed. Theis world ins Death Stranding is one that has been disconnected from itself, one where cities are isolated existences and where there are those who wish to keep this separation, even as otherworldly creatures stalk the planet.

I will not water down the complexities and many possible meanings that can be explored in this game that aims to connect players across the world in one of the most ambitious ways ever attempted. There is an intricate story told that is aided in its development with the acting of Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen.

Top 3 Things That Make This Game Great:

  • How can you ignore the great actors involved? Having top performers be part of this game as main characters is already a leg up.
  • A complex and engaging story that grips you as soon as the game starts. There is something to be said for a game that pulls you in with every minute.
  • A stunning world and character design that adds emotion to every session.

This villain shot is enough to spark imagination. Cool belly button too.

One ugly hydra.

1. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Strap on your best Empire butt kicking face and dive into the role of an unknown Jedi dodging Siths and saving Wookie’s. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Hero, picks up after Revenge of the Sith in a time where Jedi’s have been wiped out, so we thought. You play a young Jedi hiding out in the open until an emergencya emergency use of the force draws undesirable attention.

The world is a beautiful portrait of a Lucas Films landscape and does not disappoint with its cadre of alien creatures. The gameplay looks like a great mix of lightsaber slashing and force moves that send stormtroopers flying to their demise. This latest Star Wars game just continues the great experience we have had from the previous ones and will surely be a fun play.

Top 3 Things That Make This Game Great:

  • Is wielding a lightsaber not enough?!
  • A genuine Star Wars feel, even though it is separate from the canon it continues the story in its own way.
  • Did I mention you get to use the force? No? Oh, so yeah, you get to force throw Storm Troopers like a 2-year-old throwing a tantrum.

Who doesn't like tossing around enemies with the wave of the hand?

Ability to use Jedi skills outside of force attacks.
