2. Witch Hunter Captain

Guiding his allies to strike a common target, the Witch Hunter Captain bolsters the team with his leadership.

Talents

Level 5: Charmed Life (Increases dodge range by 20%)

Always nice to have some space between you and the opposition.

Level 10: Suffer No Heresy (Reduces damage taken while disabled by 50%)

It can’t be avoided forever, you’ll get caught by a packmaster or a gutter runner eventually, might as well mitigate the damage when you do get disabled.

Level 15: Wild Fervour (Grants the team an 8% increase in crit chance for 4 seconds when a tagged enemy dies.)

Many would consider the 2 temporary health talent, but that’s not a lot of health to be fair, so in my opinion, a crit focused build aided by wild fervour is better since crits are a good boost of damage that also stuns most enemies.

Level 20: Righteous Zeal (Kills grant 2 temporary health)

Level 25: Redoubled Purpose (Reduces the cooldown of Animosity by 30%)

Career skills that provide a stun that can save an ally are good to have ready, so recharging them quickly is always a good idea.

Weapons

Melee: Falchion/Flail/Rapier. Lot of options for melee weapons, even the rapier because the headshot from melee and the special attack can instantly kill man-sized enemies if it triggers a critical hit.

Ranged: Brace of Pistol/Crossbow. The brace of pistols works well with the Witch-Hunt ability and the crossbow is good against special enemies.

1. Zealot

The Zealot is efficient at slaughtering his enemies, when wounded, he becomes all the more dangerous.

Talents

Level 5: Saint of Battle (Increases critical hit chance by 5%).

Serves as a good companion to the Holy Crusader talent and even on its own it’s a decent (chance based) damage boost.

Level 10: Flagellant (Damage taken from one attack is reduced to 10 damage or half of its original value, whichever is highest)

This talent gives you a tremendous increase in durability, which will help to prevent your invincibility perk from triggering needlessly.

Level 15: Holy Crusader (Fiery Faith also increases power boost of critical hits by 10% per 25 health missing. This effect stacks up to 5 times)

When the Heart of Iron ability triggers, you don’t need to worry about defense since you cannot be killed for the effects duration. You should instead focus on killing as many enemies as you can. Score a crit while your health is low and you will obliterate anything that you hit.

Level 20: Righteous Zeal (Kills grant 2 temporary health)

Level 25: Pleasure from Pain (Holy Fervour causes Victor to restore 2 temporary health for each successful hit)

While I prefer the Blessed Frenzy talent, I think many players will favor the extra health. Temporary health does decrease your power boosting stacks, but the greater durability is more than a fair trade.

Weapons

Melee: Flail. The stun power of this weapon makes it one of the best melee weapons in the game. The only thing holding it back is that the windup leaves you open to being interrupted by incoming attacks. The Zealot leaves a much shorter window of time for a hit to stop his attack.

Ranged: Crossbow. Just like any other melee focused career, the Zealot would rather smack than shoot, unless it’s something important like a blightstormer. Therefore the crossbow is probably the best option.
