In Prison Architect, you build and run a maximum security prison. Thing is, it’s not as simple as keeping prisoners behind bars. You’ll need to feed them, keep them healthy, as well as make sure there are enough guards to prevent and control criminal shenanigans. The plumbing needs to work, too. Or maybe you’ll need an exercise area or an execution chamber. So you’ll need to keep maintaining and upgrading those facilities, as more and more prisoners get jailed. The game also has a Story Mode, which follows the tale of a man on death row, and Escape Mode, which puts you in the shoes of a prisoner trying to escape prison by any means necessary, such as starting a riot or digging an underground tunnel. A strategy and management game unlike any other!

14. Cities: Skylines

In Cities: Skylines, one of the best PC games of 2015, you’re tasked with developing a small settlement into a bustling metropolis. But it’s not as easy as it sounds! There are numerous considerations to take into account, such as road placement, taxes, and the happiness and health of your citizens. Too much pollution, and people will be blowing factory smoke out their noses. Not enough jobs, and you’ll have people sharing their meals with rats and cockroaches. Cities: Skylines is open-ended, so you can build for as long as you want. What better way to spend all those sleepless nights?

13. Rocket League

What’s the best way to play soccer? Behind the wheel of a car, of course! Rocket League is a sports game in which teams of cars battle to score goals with a ball. But there’s more to this game than just its absurd gimmick. Insane physics, in combination with rocket boosters, allows players to perform high-flying, gravity-defying stunts for maximum insanity. Boasts tons of unlockable vehicles and items, and supports local and online multiplayer, and even cross-platform play. Once of the most surprising hits of 2015!

12. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1

Control three beautiful warriors (and three support characters) as they battle onscreen, explore dungeons, and collect all sorts of items in Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1. Available for the PlayStation Vita and PC, this game is a vastly improved remake of the 2010 console turn-based RPG, Hyperdimension Neptunia. Its whole concept is a play on the game industry. The story revolves around the “Console War,” which takes place in a world called Gamindustri. The title itself refers to the abandoned Sega Neptune project. An excellent game for JRPG and anime fans!
