10. SOMA

Descend into the perilous depths of the ocean in SOMA. And to top it all off, the whole thing is shrouded in a mystery that will make you question the very nature of consciousness itself. Journey through dark, dank corridors as you attempt to piece together clues about the events that led to your stranding in your underwater prison. Interface with computer systems to learn more about the facility's secret projects. Just don’t forget to watch your back, because the shadows hide unspeakable horrors that don’t take too kindly to sharing their space with you. One of the best PC games of 2015.

9. Tales from the Borderlands

Who’d have thought an interactive drama based on the Borderlands series would turn out so great? Tales from the Borderlands is a five-part game about Rhys, a man who wishes to become Hyperion’s Handsome Jack replacement, and Fiona, a con-artist aiming to make the big bucks on Pandora. Together they explore a wasteland populated with bandits, murderers, gangsters, and an assortment of other psychopathic crazies, many of whom will shoot you between the eyes as soon as look at you. And because this is Borderlands, expect robots, guns, blood, and of course, the Vault Hunters themselves. One of the best PC games of 2015!

8. Ori and the Blind Forest

A forlorn creature finds comfort in a strange luminous being called Ori. Then tragedy strikes, and the forest in which they live descends into darkness and decay. What follows is a tale of loss, suffering, and ultimately, hope. In this stunningly animated side-scrolling platformer, Ori plunges into a labyrinthine world fraught with danger. Well-crafted environmental puzzles will challenge your mind, while monsters and traps will test your reflexes and skill. Among the best PC games of 2015.

7. Life is Strange

Max saves a friend from certain death by using the power to rewind time. As Max struggles with her ability, the two friends learn a dark secret about their town, and they find themselves having to work together to solve the mystery behind the vanishing of a schoolmate. Life is Strange is a revolutionary adventure game in which time travel can drastically alter the direction the story goes. Spread across five episodes, you’ll enjoy wonderfully written characters and gorgeous visuals, and immerse yourself in a world that is both fascinating and nostalgic.

6. Crypt of the Necrodancer

This multi-award-winning indie combines pulse-pounding action, robust RPG elements, and… wait for it… music! Crypt of the Necrodancer is not only one of the best PC games of 2015, it is also one of the most innovative. You play as an adventurer who’s been trapped in a dungeon by the Necrodancer. To survive its dangers and defeat the evil wizard, you’ll have to move to the beat of the music (composed by the talented Daniel Baranowsky). As a rhythm game, you can play using the usual mouse and keyboard, a gamepad, or, for complete musical immersion, a USB dance pad. Groove to glorious melodies as you explore procedurally generated realms, battle grotesque monsters, collect gear and precious treasures, and more in Crypt of the Necrodancer!
