Ganter
From a young age, Tom Ganter was playing videogames. His gameboy accompanied him through grade school, and his PC has been a dear friend throughout his life. The Hiigaran ships of Homeworld, the haunted ruins of Dark Souls, the server lists in arena shooters, and the rest of the worlds gaming presented were a second home to Tom at various points in his life. Games accompanied his education throughout its length, keeping his sanity through harsh fieldwork internships and grueling paperwork, up until he graduated with a Biology degree in 2017, with his name on a number of published studies. As an expert in scientific and historical writing, Tom Ganter explores the narratives, aesthetics, creature designs, and all manner of details surrounding the construction of games' worlds with a critical eye, with the goal of understanding their real-world inspirations. Exploring these worlds and grasping the points where mechanics and design meet for a fun experience are his favorite moments, so role-playing games and historical settings are a natural fit. However, there's something to be said for the white-knuckled intensity of a match in an online shooter, or the carefully planned tactics of turn-based combat, all of which serve to create fantastic stories worth remembering.
