Michael had his first writing published when he was only nine years old, and has been an avid and passionate gamer since he first experienced Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo Entertainment System back in the eighties. He has written a number of opinion pieces on games both old and new over the years, and is also a hobbyist game developer and digital artist. His favorite genres are RPGs (whether JRPG or Western-style, single-player or MMO), worldbuilders like Minecraft and Terraria, and MOBAs such as League of Legends, but he has also played and enjoyed everything from schmups to puzzle games. He is currently preparing to return to college to study digital media development in a more formal way, and working on his first platformer, Spellblade: Awakening.
