[Top 15] Nickelodeon Best Characters (Ranked)
[Top 15] Nickelodeon Best Characters (Ranked)

If there is one thing Nickelodeon guarantees its viewers, its got to be the array of hilarious  characters. Each show displays some pretty oddball characters with absolutely awesome personalities. You will definitely not be bored while submerging into the world of Nickelodeon. Lets meet some of these wild and whimsical beings, shall we?

15. Erwin Sikowitz (Victorious)

Sikowitz is one of Hollywood Arts’ acting teachers. Throughout Victorious he’s pretty much the only teacher we get up close and personal with. Other teachers make short appearances, but it's quite clear why this professor's class is the one that’s zoomed in on.

From the get go you can tell Mr. Sikowitz's whole heart is devoted to acting. During episodes, his lessons consist of bizarre acting techniques. He puts the Victorious gang through awkward, strange, and hilarious class sessions.

This hippie man puts the kids to the ultimate test. In one extremely odd episode, he invites the teens to his home where they must stay in character the entire night or be thrown out if they break. He’s one weird dude, but it’s easy to see how much he cares for the kids.

Eric Lange gets into the character of Sikowitz a little too much. Sometimes I wonder if he’s actually that odd in real life. When his bald head and bare feet walk into the picture, you better get your laugh box ready.

Any scene he appears in is bound to be filled with hilarious scripts that often don’t make a lot of sense. We can all learn from Sikowitz- be free, be yourself, and always drink your coconut water.

14. Danny Phantom

Ghost slayer, Danny Phantom is one heck of a hero. When he accidentally stepped into his scientist parents' ghost portal, he was transformed into a floating creature himself. Danny has no other option but to rid the city of evil villains and make a good name for himself. On top of his heroism, the poor fella must face the dreaded norms of teenage life.

Sometimes, things just happen. Maybe you wake up and you’re not having the best hair day. Or you’re late for the school bus. Well, stop being such a baby. Danny went and turned himself into a dang ghost.

I think he secretly loves it though. He’s not the most popular or well liked kid at school. By day, Phantom is a nerdy teen lad. Be ready to encounter a whole new side of him when he “goes ghost.” Once he’s undergone the awesome transformation, Danny victoriously pummels enemies and wins the hearts of the citizens.

It’s safe to say Danny was a big cartoon crush for a lot of young girls. After watching an episode, you’ll probably be searching your basement for a hidden ghost portal. What kid wouldn’t love the ability to morph into a ghost that can fly, fight, and be popular.

Although Danny is pretty much a rock star in the ghost world, he doesn’t let that change his human personality. To his friends he’s caring, understanding, and humble. Forced to keep his ghost identity a secret, Phantom really has no other choice but to lay low.

So, unless you’re secretly a crime fighting ghost hybrid, there’s no excuse to wear a big ego. Let’s take a moment of silence for our noble hero. We can all learn a thing or two about humility and compassion from our man Dan.

13. T-Bo (iCarly)

Terrence, if you will, is the manager at the Groovy Smoothie. He’s definitely groovy with his long dreadlocks and hippie way of speaking. T-Bo always has some refreshing quotes and one liners to draw his customers in. He’s not always the brightest when it comes to new ideas and recipes, but he’s definitely innovative.

T-Bo lives upstairs at the Groovy Smoothie. His little shop has vibrant retro colors and always has loads of customers sipping on his sweet creations. Honestly, you might be enraged when you walk into your local smoothie joint and don’t find it dressed with bright colors and quirky tables.

Apart from blending fruit for beverages, this man offers some other unique food options. Each time the iCarly squad visits the eatery, T-Bo has concocted a new food idea like tacos or pickles, but they’re skewered on a stick. It’s actually pretty impressive.

Carly and her friends are pretty close with T-Bo. They always offer him help when needed and go along with his wild food ideas. Shoot, he even stayed with Freddie after getting kicked out of his restaurant. That’s true friendship considering Freddie’s mom is an absolute maniac.

12. Gibby (iCarly)

Here’s a fun little weirdo that everyone knows. Gibby plays a good friend of Carly, Sam and Freddie’s on the show. Early on he’s kind of a side/main character. When the crew is at school he always makes his way on screen (usually shirtless) and adds to the chaotic iCarly world.

As the show progresses, Gibby makes more appearances. Quickly he becomes a very popular character. He’s overall a super good friend. Anytime someone has an issue, he always offers some way to help. Though, it’s usually pretty out there and doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

You can spot Gibby from afar by his exposed stomach as he usually rips off his shirt, but not in the “sexy” way. If you listen close you can hear “Gibbayyy,” as this is his wild call. Gibby is just a wonderful and upbeat character. He does and says what he wants completely carefree of what other humans thinks of him. Such an admirable trait.

11. Sheen Estevez (Jimmy Neutron)

If you enjoy sweet and soothing voices, Sheen is not the character to go to. He’s one of Jimmy Neutron's best friends and the complete opposite in terms of intelligence. Sheen is quite easily one of the loudest and most obnoxious characters on a T.V. show. That in no way stops you from adoring his carefree and wild personality.

Have you heard of Ultra Lord? No? Well, let me introduce you to Mr. Sheen and he will happily fill you in. He’s obsessed with this action hero and often carries an Ultra-Lord doll around with him. I wouldn’t say he’s the most reliable or smartest fish in the pond, but he’s definitely up for adventure!

More than not, Sheen tampers with Jimmy’s projects which gets him sucked into a boatload of trouble. Neutron needs to test his inventions and his dim-witted pal is always up for a trial! He has his moments where he offers helpful solutions to problems, but they’re short lived.

Nonetheless he has proved to be a worthy and loving human. Libby is the most beautiful girl in the world to him and he goes out of his way to protect her. He’s actually very sweet. His low attention span and hyperactivity steer him off track most of the time, but overall everyone’s got a soft spot for Sheen.

10. Tommy Pickles (Rugrats)

Sweet, stinky little Tommy Pickles. Tommy is the head baby in the Rugrats game. He usually leads their imaginative quests and is a bit wiser than his friends. Optimism and hope are his two key qualities that guide him and his gang out of trouble.

Tommy is responsible for nothing more than living his best baby life. From the start it is quite clear how much care and love he has for his friends and family. He conjures up all sorts of amazing imagination-based adventures for him, Chcukie, Phil, and Lil.

Tommy is usually the one to come up with solutions to resolve any turmoil they may come across. Chuckies negative attitude towards things is always shifted to a bright perspective, thanks to sweet Tommy. Through all the ups and downs of baby-hood, little Pickles chooses to see the good in everything.

Rugrats is such a simple and fun show. The most intuitive creatures on the planet are indeed babies and young kids. There’s no problem too big or too out of hand that can not be solved with friendship and positivity. Honestly, Tommy is more intelligent than half the adults in the world. The kid has a bright future.

9. Captain Man/ Ray (Henry Danger)

Hey look, it’s Captain Man! In the bright city of Swellview, the townspeople are protected by this legendary hero. Of course, no hero could possibly be completed without a sidekick. Ray recruits young Henry Hart as Kid Danger to assist him in his heroic conquests.

Captain Man has been the hero of the city for years. Over time, crime has become worse and the big bad hero admits he needs help. Henry Hart stumbles upon Junk n’ Stuff which is a store that hides the lair of Captain Man.

Ray is super powerful and indestructible. Nothing can kill him so he really has nothing to worry about. This speaks true to his character in the show. Ray hangs out with Henry and his two friends which for a grown man is a little weird.

He’s got some good looks and a charming personality, but lacks intelligence and common sense. Ray often creates more chaos which has to be fixed by his handy-man, Schwoz and Henry. The dude is loaded with insane strength and powers, but pretty empty in the head.

Despite all that, he’s quick to jump on crime-related tasks and holds up his title of superhero. Although it doesn’t seem like it, Captain Man has a whole lot of love for Henry and his friends. He often doesn’t display affection, but he has his moments where he breaks down. Ray is basically a big man child. Henry Danger piggybacks off older shows such as iCarly and Drake and Josh. The same type of comedy is implemented and it is downright hilarious.

It’s one of the best recent live action Nickelodeon shows. Ray’s character has no serious lines or scripting. There’s really no chill when it comes to the crude and promiscuous jokes the cast spews out. All in all, Captain Man majorly holds the show together with his dim-wits and brilliant expressions and one liners.

8. Carl Wheezer (Jimmy Neutron)

Get your inhalers out and ready for use! Wheezing Carl Wheezer is one of Jimmy's best friends. He’s got an undying love for llamas and ice cream. Out of the trio, Carl is the softest and most anxious. This is understandable as his family are a bunch of hypochondriacs who are convinced the world is a dangerous place.

With Jimmy as Carl’s best friend, danger is the one thing that’s guaranteed. Carl is always apprehensive before embarking on a mission or engaging in a crazy science experiment. We need more sensitive and emotional guys like Carl.

The kid is a bit strange though. In some episodes he seems to have some weird fascination with their teacher Ms. Fowl. No matter what he goes along with flow and joins in on the adventure. Carl consistently shows up for Jimmy even if it means putting himself in an unfavorable position.

I’ve got nothing but respect and admiration for Carl. He teaches us that things aren’t always as bad as they seem. He’s going to be a great dad someday. Why, there’s one treasured episode where Carl gets impregnated with an alien baby.

His fatherly instincts kick in when Jimmy tries to extract it and kill it, but Carl becomes protective and lets nature take the course. His kind actions back up his frantic and soft actions.

7. Josh Nichols (Drake and Josh)

Good ol’ Josh Nichols. I think his legacy will live on for many generations. John is the step-brother to Drake and Megan in Drake and Josh. He’s smart, organized, and tries his best to keep things in order. Living with a slob and a maniacal 11-year old presents its challenges to his level-headed character.

Josh is just such a delicious character. He’s a good boy who does his best to stay away from trouble. Drake on the other hand is the creator of tornadoes. Each episode Josh plays the good guy and must patch up Drake's mistakes.

He goes out of his way to do nice things for his parents. From whipping up delicious meals to setting up dates for his parents, Josh’s heart is as big as his head. Nichols takes pride in his schoolwork and academics.

The poor dude throws himself into his work and studies, but is usually interrupted by some crazy scheme Megan has planned. Together, Drake and Megan test Josh’s patience, sometimes getting the worst of him. Josh always gets the dull end of the stick, but does what he can with it.

Possibly the most well known quote in all of Nickelodeon history is his one line reply to Drake, “I ain’t callin’ you a truther!” Josh is spastic and frantic which makes him so dang entertaining and comical. Josh’s vibrant humor and intelligence nicely compliments Drake's stupidity.

6. Squidward (Spongebob Squarepants)

Clarinets, fancy living, and a love for music? What more could you want from a man? Squidward possesses all these lovely character traits. Unfortunately, most of his dreams for a simple, high quality life are dragged down by his obnoxious neighbors. Blue tentacled Squidward has been crowned the king of grumpiness.

Squidward just wants to live a peaceful life. Due to his uncanny housing and work situation, that ship was never able to set sail. Spongebob and Patrick are better known as dumb and dumber in Squid's eyes. His dream is to become a famous clarinet player and artist, but is cursed with horrible musical skills and an unsteady tentacle.

Whenever he attempts to progress in his art and music, Sponge and Pat always find a way to screw it up. Squidward is doomed to work as a cashier at the Krusty Krab alongside with fry cook, Spongebob. It’s kind of ironic how Spongebob outshines him in music and art in a few episodes.

Sometimes he sets Spongebob and Patrick up for failure, but it always backfires on him. His jabs and crude jokes to Spongebob are great and super witty. As the famous narrator of Spongebob says, “no one wants to be a squidward.” Always do your best to be a good person or else you’ll end up like our favorite undersea cephalopod.

5. Spencer Shay (iCarly)

Everyone loves a sweet and sensitive man who dabbles in art and culture. Spencer Shay is all of those things! If you’re okay with just a hint of spontaneity, unpredictability, and goofiness then you’ll love Mr. Shay.

Spencer is Carly's big brother and caretaker. He’s the adult of their apartment although his actions say otherwise. Creating extremely whimsical and oddball artwork for clients is how he reels in the dough.

He really just wants to provide Carly with the best life he can while their father is out at sea. Spencer doesn’t have any “adult” friends of his own, so he usually hangs out with Carly, Sam, and Freddie. Spencer means well, but often his sculptures and artwork create havoc. During Carly’s birthday, he crafted a rad gummy bear lamp. Apparently gummy bears are highly flammable and caught fire, destroying her room.

Carly’s web show features a lot of gross and weird stunts where Spencer volunteers willingly and unwillingly. Life would be extremely boring and gray without his brotherly presence in iCarly.

Jerry Springer plays the role of Spencer a little too well. I don’t have any doubts he’s just as funny and eccentric in real life. I sure wish I had a Spencer as a big brother growing up.

4. Hugh Neutron (Jimmy Neutron)

I would just like to know how an unintelligent, free spirited human can produce an offspring of such high IQ. Hugh Neutron is the dad of kid genius, Jimmy Neutron. He spends his days slaving over his duck collection and consuming homemade pies made by Mrs. Neutron.

What makes Hugh so wonderful is his true dad qualities. Although he majorly lacks power up in the old noggin, he makes up for it by always being there for his family. Hugh tries so hard to be a good dad to his son.

In one episode he takes the boys camping to prove his knowledge about the outdoors. Of course he runs into unpleasant situations and tries to fix them resulting in more chaos. Jimmy’s big brain fixes the problem quickly, making Hugh feel like a failure.

It’s the effort that counts, right? He’s always meddling in his son's projects which ends in a destructive, hectic adventure. Once, he accidentally sent Jim and his friends to the past. It worked out though because the boys had a lot of fun and got home safely.

Mr. Neutron is quite an atypical dad. Most dads are wise and protective. Hugh would rather play with his duck collection rather than take part in adult-like duties. It’s every kid's dream to have such a ditzy and easy going father.

3. Cosmo (The Fairly Oddparents)

Timmy is an average kid that no one understands. Luckily his fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda are there to hear him out. Well, at least Wanda is. Cosmo is more of a magical wish granting being with no concept of right and wrong. Timmy's stupid and outrageous wishes are usually granted by Cosmo which end in the universe in flames.

Cosmo is funny, moronic, and flat out oblivious to everything. He has no social cues or fairy instincts. Whatever he wants to do, he’s going to do it whether it’s bad or good. This is great for Timmy when Wanda doesn’t agree to grant a specific wish. It’s not so great for mankind, though.

Cosmo creates more trouble than he solves. He’s a great and fun companion for Timmy when embarking on dangerous and idiotic adventures. Cosmo is real,  raw, and lets it all hang loose, especially in the gastrointestinal area.

This empty headed fairy man is pure genius in the name of comedy. Hilarious “toot” and “brain fart” noises are added in to really grasp his essence. Everyone loves the silly, stupid characters. Sure, he almost aided Timmy in the destruction of planet Earth, but it was all in good fun!

2. Spongebob (Spongebob Squarepants)

You know the name and you quote the episodes, quit pretending you don’t. Spongebob is known worldwide for his big buck teeth and charming squishy personality. He’s the backbone of the Krusty Krab and loving pet owner to Gary the snail. Let’s dive into this icon.

Spongebob has three main goals in life: to be the best fry cook, friend, and to just spread happiness! Squarepants is such a lovable sponge. He faces challenges head on and with a smile.

All he wants is to provide love and sunshine for everyone. Sponge is the best friend ever to his pink pal, Patrick. He will drop his own needs to help out random strangers whether it be good or evil. He doesn’t know any better, Spongebob is just doing his job!

Krabby patties would be dry and tasteless if it weren’t for his chef-like touch. Despite his boss Mr. Krabs paying him jack-squat, he puts 100% in keeping the Krusty Krabs delectable reputation. How can one little sponge hold all that goodness and warmth in such a small frame? I guess he just “absorbs” the good in the world.

It’s hilarious how much he bothers Squidward unaware of his neighbors strong apathy towards him. No matter how mean anyone is towards him, he jumps to assist when they’re sad or in need.

He’s just such a rich and awesome character. We all need a friend and role model like Spongebob. He truly makes everything better. Had a rough day at work? Watch Spongebob. Feeling down and depressed? Watch Spongebob. Do you have a strong desire to punch someone in the face? Calm down, watch some Spongebob!

1. Patrick Star (Spongebob Squarepants)

Well, I guess we can see who the real “star” is here. Do you get my “point?” Behold, the wonderfully dumb and perfectly created, Patrick Star. Patrick is Spongebob's best friend in the show who resides under a rock. He’s a simple man who really only needs his shorts and some ice cream to stay happy.

Not the brightest crayon in the box, but Patrick is chalk- full of natural stupid humor and simplicity. He’s about as loyal as a friend can be, most of the time. Patrick really doesn’t have many obligations other than submerging himself in fantastic adventures with Spongebob.

He spends most of the day napping under his rock and inhaling Krabby Patties. When he’s not busy with that, he and Spongebob are utilizing their imaginations for play. Don’t be fooled by his lack of brain power, Pat has his moments of deep insight and advice. Though, he would much rather engage in nonsense and disturb neighbor Squidwards peace.

Patrick is classically stupid. In fact, he’s so dumb it’s funny. I say that in the highest respects possible to the pink sea star. His character doesn’t even have to try and be comical. This is what makes Mr. Star such a hoot. I’m sure we would all choose to have Patrick’s life in a heartbeat.

No one in their right mind would turn down a chance to have a life where ice cream sundaes and Krabby Patties are your only worries. All in all, Patrick would do anything for his buddies to the best of his ability. Patrick teaches us that even the dimmest stars can shine the brightest.
