What is Vsync? Vsync stands for Vertical Synchronization. When this setting is on, you get aligned frames, without any sync problems. However, when it’s off, you get unlimited frames per second. Of course, with the risk of tearing the screen. Just pay attention to the game settings and compatibility and everything should be alright. If you feel like trying this out, there are some simple steps to follow. Keep in mind that the action itself only consists in modifying some code, but you’ll have to access many files first.

How it works:

  • Open the game and then go to my computer, program files. Open the Steam folder, then Steamapps. Click on “common” and then on the Ark folder.
  • Open the ShooterGame folder
  • Click on “Saved”, then “Configuration” and finally open “WindowsNoEditor”
  • Access the GameUserSetting.ini file. If your game is not on, the file will not appear
  • A notepad document will open
  • Search for the text: “bUserVsync=True”. If Vsync is on, it will equal True. If you want to disable it, all you have to do is replace the word “True” with the word “False”
  • Start the game and you are done
