5. Satori

Satori is the signature weapon of Soburo Arasaka. It's an antique, just like its owner.

Satori stats:

  • 57 Damage
  • 3.85 Attacks Per Second
  • +35-43 Physical Damage
  • +500% Crit Damage
  • +10% Bleeding Chance

“Property of Soburo Arasaka. An antique katana forged in the first half of the 20th century that hasn’t dulled a day.”

Satori is an iconic katana once owned by Soburo Arasaka. Its biggest advantage is its 500% increase to Crit Damage, which is balanced by the 20% decrease in base damage, but that large increase is definitely worth the small offset. Satori also has a melee mod slot for additional upgrades.

The increase to Crit Damage makes this weapon not only great for early game, but throughout the rest of Cyberpunk 2077 as well.

What Satori Excels In:

  • Notable increase to Crit Damage
  • Decent amount of Physical Damage inflicted on targets
  • Chance to inflict bleed to enemies which is a chance to do extra damage without additional hits

How To Get Satori:

Satori is found in Act 1 during The Heist quest inside Saburo Arasaka’s AV, which is parked on the rooftop landing pad.

4. Skippy

What could possibly be better than a talking gun with a mind of its own?

Skippy stats:

  • 36-44 Damage
  • 4.55 Attacks Per Second
  • 7-8 Chemical Damage
  • 4% Crit Damage
  • +6% Poison Chance
  • 150% Headshot Damage Multiplier

“A smartgun with a unique voice-user interface. Slightly unpredictable.”

Skippy is an iconic Smart Pistol with an interface that talks to you. Upon speaking to Skippy the first time, you’ll have the choice between 2 modes: Puppy-Loving Pacifist or Stone Cold Killer. Puppy-Loving Pacifist puts the gun in limbs-only mode, while Stone Cold Killer puts it in headshot-only mode. Skippy also has 2x mod slots for additional upgrades. While this is a great Smart Weapon, I also got a lot of enjoyment out of a talking gun that is sometimes a little unpredictable. The gun is known to shoot by itself on occasion, but that’s all part of the fun!

Smart weapons are great to start with since they hone in on enemies with their self-guided micro-projectiles, and the cyberware required to use them can beobtained from Wakako Okada very early on in the game.

What Skippy Excels In:

  • Has the choice to make it lethal or non-lethal
  • Since it’s a smart weapon, it hones in on its targets
  • Increases damage done from critical hits
  • Multiplies damage done from headshots

How To Get Skippy:

Skippy can be found in an alley in Vista del Rey, Heywood. If you fast travel to the College St. metro station, there will be a side mission question mark South of there on your map. Climb over the gate at the location and there will be a dead body next to an open briefcase containing Skippy.

3. Cottonmouth

Let's be honest, FIngers deserved to have this weapon stolen from him.

Cottonmouth stats:

  • 163 Damage
  • 2.48 Attacks Per Second
  • +34-42 Electrical Damage
  • +34-42 Chemical Damage
  • -4.50% Stamina Cost Reduction While Attacking
  • +10% Crit Damage
  • +25% Poison Chance
  • -10% Shock Chance

“Many are quick to underestimate people who use a cane. Use that.”

Cottonmouth is an iconic one-handed club that belongs to a ripperdoc on Jig Jig street named Fingers. It deals electrical and chemical damage, and also has a small chance to deal poison or shock to enemies. This weapon has unique aesthetics, being shaped like a walking cane with a snake’s head as the cane’s handle. Cottonmouth also includes a melee mod slot.

Cottonmouth has a 4.50% reduction to stamina cost while attacking, which is essential in early game when there hasn’t been as much time to level up V’s stamina. This weapon also does electrical and chemical damage, as well as a chance for poison and shock which can deal extra damage in addition to the original hit.

What Cottonmouth Excels In:

  • Cottonmouth is considered a Blunt Weapon, which is described as: “May not be lethal, but your enemies will wish it was.”
  • Reduces stamina cost while attacking by 4.50%
  • Chances to inflict poison or shock to enemies which is a chance to do extra damage without additional hits

How To Get Cottonmouth:

Cottonmouth can be found during The Space In Between quest, in the ripperdoc Fingers’ room on his coffee table.

2. Kongou

One of the few things Yorinobu Arasaka has going for him is his taste in weapons, as seen here with the Kongou.

Kongou stats:

  • 32-39 Damage
  • 3.56 Attacks Per Second
  • +150% Headshot Damage Multiplier

“The iron packed by Yorinobu Arasaka during his troubled youth. As beautiful as it is deadly.”

Kongou is an iconic power pistol owned by Yorinobu Arasaka. It’s a black and magenta engraved version of the Liberty, and can be obtained during The Heist quest. The main advantage to this weapon is giving the player the ability to use ricochet technology even without the required cyberware installed on V, but there’s also a significant multiplier to headshot damage. I didn’t stumble across this weapon until my second playthrough of Cyberpunk, because it’s easy to miss when you’re focused on the quest at hand. This is another one that has great aesthetics, but it also benefits from reduced recoil and an increased fire rate.

Kongou allows V to use ricochet tech without the Ballistic Coprocessor cyberware, which is  usually necessary for technology like this. This is helpful early in the game since by this point you may not have made enough money (or even leveled up enough) to purchase any additional cyberware. This gun also has a scope slot, muzzle slot, and mod slot for extra upgrades.

What Kongou Excels In:

  • Increased fire rate
  • Ability to use ricochet bullets without Ballistic Coprocessor cyberware
  • Multiplies damage done from headshots

How To Get Kongou:

Kongou can be found in Yorinobou’s room at Konpeki plaza on his bedside table during The Heist quest. It can first be spotted in Evelyn’s brain dance, and it will be in the same spot later  in the quest when you enter the room with Jackie.

1. Lizzie

Don't let it's pink color fool you; the Lizzie packs quite a punch.

Lizzie stats:

  • 12-15 Damage
  • 17.00 Attacks Per Second
  • +10-12 Thermal Damage
  • 1.80 Charge Time
  • 1.32 Charge Multiplier
  • +18% Burn Chance
  • 1.20 Headshot Damage Multiplier

“It may look like a toy, but it sure doesn't shoot like one.”

Lizzie is an iconic tech pistol that can be found during the Automatic Love quest. Not only is it an effective weapon for dealing damage, but it also has a fun aesthetic with its pink color and Mox sticker on the grip. There is also a scope slot and a mod slot, which allows for additional upgrades. The Lizzie has been one of my favorite guns since my very first playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077. I love the way it looks, but this little pistol also packs a punch.

Lizzie is a very useful weapon to have early on in Cyberpunk 2077. It fires an extra round every time you shoot, and when fully charged, increases the number of rounds fired per shot. There’s also a chance to burn your enemies if they are shot with Lizzie, as well as a headshot damage multiplier.

What Lizzie Excels In:

  • Fires an extra round per shot, doing more damage
  • Chance to inflict burn on enemies which is a chance to do extra damage without additional hits
  • Can be charged quickly to release a powerful shot
  • Multiplies damage done from headshots

How to get Lizzie:

The Lizzie pistol is found in Lizzie’s Bar after speaking to Judy during the Automatic Love quest. It will be lying on a table outside her room.
