It is difficult to say if a Killer is fun to go against. Some people might enjoy facing up against certain Killers that other people will despise. But ultimately there are still Killers that are generally fun to play against, some more so than others, but still fun. That being said, here are the top 10 most fun Killers to play against in Dead by Daylight.
10.) The Huntress
In the hands of a highly-skilled player, playing against The Huntress usually results in death, and so many people usually dislike playing against her. However, there are times when she can be a fun adversary. The Huntress’ power is her Hunting Hatchets which she can throw, making her a ranged killer. As a Survivor, being able to dodge the hatchets she throws just hits you with a wave of satisfaction and sweet sweet dopamine.
What makes The Huntress Fun to Play Against?
- Tall Russian lady
- She sings a nice lullaby while she kills you and your friends
- If you try hard enough you can Matrix dodge the hatchets
- The aforementioned lullaby is actually quite unsettling as you hear it resounding somewhere within the Trial
9.) The Deathslinger
The Deathslinger can be considerably annoying to face, largely due to the very sudden sound of a gunshot and then you’re just being reeled in, however when you successfully dodge one of his shots, you feel incredibly satisfied. Most would consider playing against him to be annoying and extremely painful, but it is the little moments that make him fun to play against. As you’ve probably guessed, his power centers around this speargun of his which is called “The Redeemer”. By firing the spear, it can lodge itself in survivors and Deathslinger can reel them in for a hit. The side effect of it is the deep wound status effect which can be quite troublesome if not dealt with almost immediately by performing the Mend action (similar to Legion’s power or the Survivor perk Borrowed Time). Survivors can avoid it if they crouch or move at the right time, or break the line of sight with tall objects. If the shot misses, Deathslinger has to reload before he can shoot again.
What Makes The Deathslinger Fun To Play Against?
- Dodge speargun = satisfaction
- Breaking the speargun’s chain can give you a sense of hope by buying yourself more time
8.) The Shape (Michael Myers)
The Shape is often a pain to play against, especially if they have the Tombstone add-on. But they can still be amusing and it’s pretty creepy to just see him looming in the distance, watching carefully, and then he just ends up behind you and catches you off guard. The Shape’s power is called Evil Within, the way it works is that it has 3 levels or tiers which ranks up by stalking survivors. At tier 1 Myers has the undetectable status effect but has a rather slow movement speed, at tier 2 he’s no longer undetectable but his movement speed is back to normal, and then at tier 3 his movement speed increases again and Survivors suffer from the Exposed status effect which means they can be downed by the Killer in 1 hit. Every time Evil Within levels up, an audio cue can be heard which sounds like the classic Halloween theme by John Carpenter. Seeing him in the distance can fill you with a sense of dread but, when you break the line of sight you know that you have bought yourself just a bit more time, or at least that’s what you think. But at every opportunity, you shoot a glance over your shoulder, expecting to see the pale mask, its lifeless eyes watching you from afar. But is it worse when you don’t see the Shape, or when you do? But chances are when you hear the iconic sound and see him, it’s already far too late.
What Makes The Shape Fun To Play Against?
- An iconic horror character
- It’s pretty funny when you get spooked by him, your screams can be heard throughout your house
- He looks pretty creepy when he’s stalking you in the distance
7.) The Onryo (Sadako Yamamura)
Taken straight from the Japanese horror film, Ringu (later adapted into a more western version titled “The Ring”), she is the definition of creepy. She comes and surprises you at any point in time, creating a truly horrifying experience. The Onryo’s power has numerous uses and/or functions. The Onryo’s power is called “Deluge of Fear”, and her power allows her to work similarly to Wraith and Freddy Krueger. Sadako can Demanifest, which makes her Undetectable and intermittently invisible, while in this state she can also teleport or project to TVs that are scattered around the map. Nothing is more fun than figuring out where she is and trying to navigate the map safely. The sounds of the Onryo’s projection can send shivers down your spine, unnerving you while you anxiously look around for the approaching small figure draped in dirt and ivory. Sometimes the fun in this game is the scare factor because let’s face it Dead by Daylight is still in essence a horror game. Jumping out of your skin can make the game go from suspenseful to exciting. Getting a quick scare is usually a fun experience that can turn into you laughing yourself silly.
What makes The Onryo Fun to Play Against?
- Sadako is the classic ghost girl who can still creep you out
- She can just appear and disappear easily during the game, creating unease and curiosity.
- Has a super cool Mori
- Turning off TVs right before you are fully condemned is satisfying
6.) The Nemesis
Nemesis is a terrifying killer, especially when used correctly he can be absolutely horrifying to go up against. Especially when you are jumpscared by a rogue zombie ready to infect you with the T-Virus while you are working on a generator. Nemesis’s power revolves around his charged whip attack which when hit deals the status effect of being infected by the T-Virus, but when you are hit again you go down a health state. This can be quite troublesome, especially if you are already infected and then a zombie hits you as well. Nemesis’s power increases the more he uses his ranged attack, from phase 1 to 3, each one making his attack stronger. The last one has more range and can even break pallets.
What makes The Nemesis Fun to Play Against?
- Running into zombies during chases can make the game more intense, seeing as they’ll limit the places you can go and the space you have to move around. They are a hazard, and while they might not seem particularly threatening on their own, they can become quite a nuisance in the right circumstances
- It is sometimes funny to see Nemesis running towards you or just run right past you
- Dodging the whip attacks can be insanely satisfying
5.) The Legion
The Legion is a group of 4 people, a gang of sorts, they are Soldiers of Mayhem. They relish in the thrilling freedom of living by their own rules. The Legion is excellent at dealing with Survivors when they are grouped together, therefore forcing the Survivors to split up and be isolated. Mixing things up with the right perks will make The Legion the most wonderfully chaotic force to face up against.
What Makes The Legion Fun To Play Against?
- The new chase music as of version 5.7.0 is really cool
- The intensity of the game ramps up when Legion is running towards grouped up Survivors, and the panic that follows is quite the experience
- The Legion forces Survivors to split up, making them easier to pick off at their leisure.
4.) The Demogorgon
The Demogorgon is a rare but welcome sight. They’re very fun to go up against because you don’t see many people playing as the Demogorgon. In addition, they can just appear out of nowhere and make you jump out of your skin. The Demogorgon’s power pertains to the Upside Down from Stranger Things, and so the Demogorgon is able to create portals that allow them to traverse the map through the Upside Down. The Demogorgon has one more ability, which is called Shred, which allows the Demogorgon to perform a ranged lunge attack. And it’s quite funny when they miss their Shred attack. This is because their attack is hard to hit, but it can give you a window of opportunity to escape. It’s also fun to destroy the portals because it inhibits the Killer’s map control and sometimes annoys them.
What Makes The Demogorgon Fun To Play Against?
- It’s fun to destroy the Upside Down portals
- Watching the Demogorgon fly past you with their shred attack is amusing, especially if you stun them with a pallet mid-lunge
- Has one of the best and most brutal Moris in the game
3.) The Twins
The Twins are a pair of conjoined siblings. The main twin that you play is called Charlotte, and then her twin brother Victor acts as the power. By pressing the power button, Victor will unbind himself from Charlotte and can run around and do other things, including lunging at Survivors. This is the first time where you basically get to kill the Killer. If Victor misses a lunge you can just walk right up to him and kick him and he dies on the spot. It is glorious. The only downside is that there are little to no people who still play the Twins nowadays.
What Makes The Twins Fun To Play Against?
- You can crush Victor.
- Watching Victor fly past you as he misses his lunge is an enjoyable experience.
- If the Killer is in control of Victor, Charlotte stands stationary and you can just run up to her and mess around until they switch back.
2.) The Pig (Amanda Young)
The Pig is from the iconic horror franchise Saw. Now one of the best things about The Pig in Dead by Daylight is that you can give her snoot boops. Yes, that’s right, You CAN BOOP THE SNOOT. When The Pig uses one of her abilities, which is a crouch, Survivors can walk up to her, crouch, and press the button for the pointing gesture and therefore give The Pig a nice boop on the snoot. But she’s also a fun Killer to play against because of the scare factor, you can just hear this roar nearby while you’re working on a generator and you’ll get a nice fright from the sudden swine speeding towards you.

- Friendly Pigs are fun to encounter
- You can give snoot boops
- She can jumpscare you with her Ambush ability, something that you never Saw coming. (I’ll let myself out now)
1.) The Ghost Face
There’s a shape in the shadows, there’s a chill in the air, he knows you’ll be rattled but you won’t know that he’s there, and there’s no way to run when you’re caught unaware. Ghost Face is probably the memeist Killer. One who can get up to crouching antics with Survivors, because Friendly Ghost Faces are great. Like a lot of the other killers, Ghost Face thrives off of the scare factor. As a stealth killer, Ghost Face is able to move around the environment undetected, stalk you from afar, and close in on you when you least expect it. If you’re not careful, Ghost Face can just wrench you straight from a generator, sling you over his shoulder, and head straight for a hook. Essentially, due to Ghost Face’s Night Shroud ability, he has great jumpscare potential.
What Makes The Ghost Face Fun To Play Against?
- Friendly Ghost Faces are the best.
- It’s creepy to just see the fleeting figure of Ghost Face in the distance, or the sight of his mask peering from somewhere nearby.
- Has one of the best Moris in the game.
Every Killer in the right circumstances has the potential to be fun to play against, and once again this is a topic that is primarily down to people’s opinions. This list is simply some of the ones that most people might find the most consistently fun to play against for various reasons.
