15. Dragon Knight Baran
Dragon Knight Baran is a collaborative unit from the Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. He was recently released not too long ago. Baran was a unit that you wanted on your team for Lightning damage.
Baran’s ability, Crest Beam, does Lighting magic damage. It also decreases Lightning resistance by 120%, while dealing 90x damage when fully awakened. His LB does 200x lighting magic damage to one enemy while decreasing their SPR by 85% and Lightning resistance by 130% for 3 turns.
His TMR and STMR give him a static stat boost in ATK and Magic, along with his vision card, can reach 10k. However, his abilities only do magic damage.Baran is a unit to pull for, if you haven’t done so, otherwise you may have missed out on a very powerful unit. This is because he’s time limited unfortunately.

14. Tide Breaker Kaito
Kaito finally gets a NV version of himself. He is a physical attacker and support unit. Just like his counterpart, Kaito deals water damage.
Tide Breaker Kaito’s TMR, STMR, and vision card greatly boost his ATK. In his brave shift form, Kaito can lower enemies stats for 3 turns. But, in his basic form, he can lower an enemy’s DEF. His cooldown skills grant your team a barrier and add Water element damage to your team.
His ability to add Water damage to your team is a great skill to have if you don’t have any Water element units. Also, you can switch between his basic and brave shift form, should you need to lower your opponents’ stats. Tide Breaker Kaito is a unit you want on your team.

13. Roberta & Ignitos
Roberta got a NV version of herself and her partner. This dragoon mage deals magical damage and buffs your party. The duo inflicts Fire damage to your opponents.
The duo have a STMR that increases their static ATK and MAG. Roberta & Ignitos can add Fire damage to your team for 5 turns. They can remove status effects from allies and recover HP for the whole entire team. They also can remove status effects from enemies and recover MP for your party.
Roberta & Ignitos would be a great addition to your team. Since they can add the Fire element for damage for your team, Roberta & Ignitos can recover HP and MP for everyone. Not to mention, they can also increase 400 % damage for a lot of turns against stone, insect, aquatic, and dragon enemies, while increasing their own ATK, MAG, SPR, and DEF.

12. Storm Seeker Esther
Storm Seeker Esther is very similar to her original counterpart since they both deal Lightning damage. The only difference between this NV unit, is that Storm Seeker Esther has a CG LB and does more damage.
Her STMR increases her static ATK. Esther does Lightning physical damage. She can lower one enemy’s DEF by 87% for 5 turns while dealing piercing damage.This unit is worth getting, since Esther has the ability to chain Lightning damage, as well as grant anyone on the team to chain the same element. Her cooldown skill buffs your team’s stats for 5 turns, along with increasing physical damage against demons, machina, stone, and reaper by 120%.

11. Olivera
Olivera is NV magic, moral-based mage. He deals Dark magical damage.His brave shift form, with his twin sister deals magical damage, based on his MP stat.
His vision card boosts MAG for him or any unit. However, his STMR does increase his MAG a lot and helps boost damage range too. His brave shift form does magical damage based on his MP stat.
He can grant Barrier to your whole entire team for 5 turns. Olivera can cure stat breaks to your party, along with healing stop and charm in his brave shift form. This unit is great to have for dark magical damage.

10. Divine Beast Chow
Final Fantasy’s answer to Scooby Doo and Krypto The Dog. Just like his counterpart, Divine Beast Chow is a magical tank. However, in his brave shift form, he can deal magical damage based on his SPR stat. He is a Light elemental, magic tank.
Chow’s TMR, STMR, and vision card greatly boost his SPR. He can cure stat breaks and status ailments to your party. He can also grant Barrier to your team for 4 turns. Chow also can heal HP to your party or revive allies.
Chow’s brave shift form allows him to be a magic attacker. Should you need a magic tank and another attacking unit, Divine Beast Chow would be the one you would want to use. He is a great asset to your team.

9. Super Being Hadlar
Another time-limited unit from the Dragon Quest series. Super Being Hadlar is a fire element mage. His high MAG stat puts him on this list.
His TMR and vision card help boost his static stats. However, you can equip any of the Dragon Quest vision cards to any of the units of the same series. This would definitely give this unit a huge stat boost.
Hadlar is a strong magical unit. In terms of skills, he can only do Fire damage and has the ability to inflict Stop to one enemy. His high MAG stat and LB can do massive damage as long as he is equipped with the best items.

8. Ricard & Wyvern

Hyunkel’s TMR and STMR give him a static stat boost. He has some elemental resistances to most elements except lighting. He has a confuse resistance.
He can decrease ATK and DEF of all enemies. Hyunkel has a chance of defending his allies from any attacks.

Some of his abilities will either do both physical or magical damage, which is great considering the fact that he gets a huge stat boost from his equipment.He can recover 8% MP. His LB gauge increases by 12 per turn. Dai has increased damage against fairies, beasts, reapers, stones, dragons, and demons by 200%.

He has access to Fire, Ice, and Earth attacks as well as a non-elemental skill. Popp has a large MP stat along with a low cost of abilities. This can benefit him since you don’t need to spend a lot of time recovering his MP.
However, due to his low skill set and damage range for most abilities, Popp’s MAG stat is really high. With proper equipment, Popp can dish out massive magical damage.

This antagonist made it on the list. Vlad took control of Rain’s body in an alternate timeline. His high MAG stat with his STMR and vision card greatly boost this parameter make him powerful. Dark Rain just focuses on Dark magical attacks.
His LB does massive damage. Be sure to equip both of his STMR, for that huge MAG boost. It can reach to 9000.
Also, Dark Rain has a high MP stat, along with low cost skills. His skill lets him evade 5 physical attacks and recover 200 MP for 5 turns. His cooldown skill allows him to use 4 skills times in 1 turn for 4 turns.

1. Cloud - VII Remake
The Chris Evans of Final Fantasy is always on every list. Cloud is the first NV on the list and is still a good physical attacker. His brave shift form does Lighting damage.
His skills and LB do massive damage. Cloud gets a huge stat boost with Tifa Remake VII’s vision card and STMR, as well as Cetra Descendent Aerith’s STMR. You can equip both copies of the STMR for his accessories, which can bring his ATK to 8000.
You have the option to switch to his brave shift form for Lighting damage, if you need to target an enemy’s weakness. Otherwise, is standard form does non-elemental damage, for anyone that needs it for enemies with no elemental weakness.
