If you’re going to areas that are infested with robots, you gotta bring some suitable weapons with you - you SHOULDN’T go to the Sonorous Dark with katanas or any sort of weapon that deals primarily cutting damage - you should prioritize blunt damage, otherwise, you’ll just be dealing 0 to 5 damage per hit and eventually get put on a skin peeler. It’s even better if your weapons have buffs that benefit you during combat with robots and such! Anyways, let’s start with…

10. Heavy Polearm

No debuffs against robots, so hey…

You usually expect farmers to use these sorts of weapons but you know, they are usually effective. Heavy polearms usually don’t have any negative penalties against robots and they deal a great chunk of blunt damage - because of their reach and attack animations, they can hit multiple targets at once, with impressive speed as well.

Why this weapon is great against robots:

  • An extra +30% armor penetration bonus
  •  A good chunk of blunt damage
  •  Great reach

9. Eagle’s Cross

A crossbow?!

I was wondering whether to implement a crossbow in this article but after +500 hours of playing Kenshi, I can tell you that a squad of 5 with masterwork Eagle’s Crosses will definitely put down a Cleanser Unit in the Ashlands in no time. These things can deal from 70-130 damage per hit and depending on your skills, the reload speed can take between 4 to 8 seconds. Packs a punch!

Why this crossbow is awesome:

  •  Decent amount of damage, especially when using multiple of those
  •  A squad of 5 can easily dispose of Cleanser Units with these crossbows
  •  Incredible range

8. Foreign Sabre

They’ve got curved swords.

This weapon has a hefty defense bonus and great reach, besides those 2 important things, they also deal a great chunk of cutting and blunt damage, which might come in handy while dismembering skeletons hiding in Wend.

You COULD try going against more spooky robots, like cleanser units or robot spiders and this weapon should be effective against them but I believe that it’s more suited against skeletons with heavy armor.

Why this weapon is great:

  •  Offers a splash of blunt damage
  •  Good for dismemberment
  •  +8 defense bonus

7. Spiked Club

Oga-boga, me kill skeleton!

Spiked Clubs. They ain’t that good against animals but they’re pretty good against skeletons and robots due to their decent blunt damage and armor penetration. They are usually being carried by slavers in The Great Desert, weapon shops are also always stacked with them. Good against skeletons and robots, not that good against animals!

Why this weapon is great:

  •  Can deal up to 2.00x blunt damage
  •  30% armor penetration
  •  A small amount of cutting damage can result in dismemberment

6. Fragment Axe

Good god.

This thing is awesome for 2 things - dismembering humans, skeletons, annihilating legions of samurais or paladins and getting tired really quickly. This weapon is probably the most powerful weapon in the game but at the same time, it requires a lot of strength in order to be used effectively. If you have prosthetic arms that buff your strength and your overall strength is at a high level, then this thing is most definitely for you - Mad Cat-Lon will most definitely meet a quick demise!

Why this weapon is great:

  •  Highest amount of blunt damage
  •  Possible 1-shots
  •  Impresses Shek ladies

5. Topper

A katana?!

Katanas SUCK against robots. They deal -40% less damage to them and will deal 1-5 damage per hit - pathetic. The topper is different though, it doesn’t have a penalty against robots and has the same attack animations as a standard katana, with a slight splash of blunt damage.

Unlike other weapons, the Topper weighs only 8 kilograms, which means that you can keep swinging this thing with blood gushing out of your chest!

Why this weapon is great:

  •  Double attack animation=more damage
  •  No penalties against robots
  •  Doesn’t require too much strength

4. Falling Sun

Skeleton limbs all around.

I remember going single-handedly against Mad Cat-Lon and his legion, of course, I didn’t win but managed to kill at least 20 of his goons and almost kill Mad Catty. This weapon is pretty insane, does a great job against pretty much everyone but keep in mind that this is a heavy weapon - it requires a lot of strength to carry and eventually, this weapon will become ineffective if you become weaker during fights.

Why this weapon is great:

  •  Massive amount of cutting/blunt damage
  •  No debuffs against robots
  •  The best heavy weapon IMO

3. Combat Cleaver

For dismembering skeletons.

These things deal equal amounts of cutting/blunt damage and have 25% bonus damage against robots. Even though cleavers are not that appealing in the early game and even mid-game, they become pretty OP in late-game when you finally decide to go to areas like Sonorous Dark or the Ashlands. Their armor penetration is excellent against skeleton legions patrolling the Ashlands and pretty much everyone who thinks that armor is going to protect them!

Why this weapon is awesome:

  •  30% armor penetration
  •  +25% bonus against robots
  •  One of the lightest cleavers

2. Mercenary Club

A two-handed club.

These weapons deal a lot of blunt damage and will sooner knock out your targets than kill them. It’s perfect if you want to RECRUIT skeletons instead of KILLING THEM. They also have high buffs against skeletons and heavily-armored personnel, the reach is decent and allows you to hit multiple targets at once.

It also doesn’t make your targets bleed at all, so you don’t have to worry about them bleeding to death. It will most definitely leave them with crippled limbs, though…

Why this weapon is great:

  •  Decent buffs against robots
  •  Hellton of blunt damage
  •  Cripples your targets effectively

1. Paladin's Cross

Body Image

The doom of skeletons.

This weapon was purposefully designed to destroy skeletons and robots. It has a MASSIVE bonus against robots and deals primarily blunt damage. If you happen to be a human, you can visit places like Stoat, Blister Hill, or Bad Teeth and buy yourself a copy of this weapon.

Just make sure to not use it against animals - it’s so goddamn terrible, it will take you at least a century to kill a Bonedog. Have fun with this beast weapon!

Why this weapon is the best:

  •  50% more damage against skeletons
  •  Despite it being useful against skeletons, it can be used against anything that’s heavily armored(30% armor penetration)
  •  Decent reach(23 units)
