Who are the strongest kombatants in MK11?
MK11 is arguably the best installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise, and with the character roster continuing to grow over the next several months, it's likely that this game will only get better. Many players such as SonicFox and ForeverKing, have created tier lists, categorizing Outworlders and Earthrealmers alike in five or more classes with the 'S' class being the fiercest, apex predators of the roster. Ironically, the most common 2 fighters in this class are Erron Black, a trash-talking cowboy (quick with his gun and with his one-liners) and Sonya Blade, a military general voiced by an ex-UFC fighter. With a background as mythological as Mortal Kombat 11, one would expect a sorcerer or a resurrected ninja to be more commonplace at the top of these tiers, and this goes to show how much the game has truly evolved over the last almost 30 years.
Naturally, I had to jump onboard with the tier trend and create my own list of savage kontestants (names and power ratings) to dominate the tournament. If you’re looking to absolutely destroy your competition, look no further:
S-Tier Kombatants: These are the cream-of-the-crop, absolute boss S-tier fighters for Mortal Kombat 11. If you’re already pretty knowledgeable with their fighting styles and have a strong track record when fighting online, choosing and mastering any of these kombatants will pretty much guarantee a win every time:
- Erron Black 96/100
- Kitana 94/100
- Geras 95/100
- Jacqui Briggs 92/100
- Skarlet 90/100
A-Tier Kombatants: These fighters are for those who are not veterans of the tournament or for those who do not fight online very often. Learning the abilities and patterns for any of these guys may not guarantee a win every time, but you should at least win 70 to 80 percent of the time. Their moves are easy to learn, but still take some skill to absolutely master:
- Scorpion 89/100
- Sonya Blade 89/100
- Cetrion 86/100
- Cassie Cage 84/100
B-Tier Kombatants: This tier has kombatants who are definitely klassic, but take a little more time and skill to master and become truly effective to use. You'd have about a 60% chance of winning a match if you choose one of these guys without having used them for a while.
- Liu Kang 81/100
- Noob Saibot 80/100
- Shang Tsung 80/100
- Kabal 78/100
- Kung Lao 75/100
- Baraka 74/100
C-Tier Kombatants: These fighters look cool and have that good nostalgic feel to them, but they're not very effective in battle without hours and hours of practice.
- Sub Zero 72/100
- Jax 70/100
- Raiden 70/100
- Johnny Cage 68/100
- Jade 65/100
- Kano 62/100
D-Tier Kombatants: You don't stand a very goodbig chance of winning with any of these kombatants unless you quit your day job and devote most of your waking hours to mastering them.
- Shao Kahn 59/100
- D'Vorah 57/100
- Frost 56/100
- Kollector 55/100
- Kotal Kahn 53/100
S-Tier Kombatants In-Depth
Erron Black: 96/100 (S-Tier)
Erron Black aims his rifle in preparation to juggle his opponent ruthlessly.
A cowboy is the last type of character you would expect in any Mortal Kombat game, which makes Erron Black’s overall dominating performance that much more surprising. Geras: 95/100 (S-Tier)
Geras invites his opponent to kombat, already knowing the outcome.
Geras has witnessed all events in the MK universe thousands of times (I wonder what he thinks of Dan Forden’s “Toasty!”) and is a loyal servant to the game’s big bad boss, Kronika. He has the amazing ability to manipulate the sands of time both in the story mode and also in the actual game. Having lived and died an innumerable amount of times, nothing surprises him and he comes back stronger every time. He never forgets to wind his watch!
Geras’ Abilities:
- Quick Sand

Playing With THE BEST Character In MK11! - Mortal Kombat 11: "Geras" gameplayKitana: 94/100 (S-Tier)
Kitana throws her deadly bladed fan at her opponent.
Kitana Kahn is one of the most popular MK characters of all time, since her debut in MK2 back in 1993. Her clone/sister Mileena is absent from MK11 (so far), but Kitana did inherit Mileena’s Ssai and teleporting abilities. These new abilities, paired with her deadly blade-fans and ability to soar through the air, make her a very frustrating opponent and definitely deserving of the title ‘Kahn.’
Kitana’s Abilities:
- Fan Nado
- (Air) Piercing Dagger
- Upward Fan Toss
- Low Fan Toss
- Dancing Fans
- (Airs) Fan Flutter
- Retreating and Advancing Fan Flutter
- Edenian Twist
- Ground War
- Half-Blood Stance
- Edenian Fade
- Royal Protection
- Edenian Razors
Kitana's Fatalities:
Mortal Kombat 11 Kitana's Royal Execution Fatality (How To)
Why Kitana Is Overpowered:
- Her incredible list of built-in combos
- The ability to juggle (once she hits you with that upward fan toss, expect to be dominated for a good 6 second minimum)
- Her wide array of full-screen and close-up attack capabilities
Jacqui Briggs: 92/100 (S-Tier)
Jacqui Briggs smiles as she obliterates her opponent with her Spider Mines fatality.
Daughter of Jackson Briggs and best friend of Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs emulates her father’s cybernetic powerhouse abilities while bringing a whole new arsenal to the fight. Between her introduction in MKX to her return in MK11, she has demonstrated her abilities as her own and not just as a namesake to her well-known and respected father.
Jacqui’s Abilities:
- Prototype Rocket
- Grenade Launcher
- Hyper Knee
- Lethal Clinch
- (Air) Dive Bomb
- (Air) Grove Pound
- Enhanced Air Blast
- Tech-Dome
- Cybernetic Override
- Bionic Bounce
- Robo Grappler
Jacqui’s Fatalities:
Jacqui's "Spider Mines" fatality (MK11)
MK 11 Jacqui Briggs "Nothin But Neck" Fatality

- Her cyber-powered speed (the Grease Kick is a perfect example of just how fast she can dominate)
- Plenty of 50/50 ability with her wrist guns and robotic legs
- Her arsenal of projectiles and gap-closing dashes
Skarlet: 90/100 (S-Tier)
Skarlet draws the blood from her enemy into an orb projectile.
If there was ever a female character that could perfectly emulate the essence of MK, Skarlet is it. Not only is she a female ninja like the ever-popular Kitana, she has powers that are blood-based! MK is solely responsible for the rating system for console games because of the blood and gore in MK1, so Skarlet is a perfect representation of what this game is all about. With her ability to turn blood drawn from her enemies into blades and projectiles, she is a force to be reckoned with.
Skarlet’s Abilities:
- Dagger Dance
- Bloodsport
- Cell Siphon
- Boiling Point
- Retch-Rebution
- Killer Clot
- Blood Ritual
- Krimson Shield
- Red Mist
- Red rain
- Blood Flow

- The extended range of her melee attacks (namely the sickle attacks)
- Her projectile abilities paired with her teleporting abilities
- Her frustratingly effective Blood Tendril move
