World of Tanks Blitz vs World of Tanks: Top 10 Differences
People often wonder about the difference between World of Tank: PC and World of Tank: Blitz. I was one of those wonderers as well. To seek the answer to my question I went through a painful journey full of torture and torment, otherwise known as “Research.” The answer to the question is that there are slight but considerable differences between these two games. The differences between these two games are:
1. The Basic Definition of WOT PC and WOT Blitz:
World of Tanks is a massively multiplayer online game developed by Wargaming, featuring 20th-century era combat vehicles. The game is free-to-play and is played on PC, but participants also can pay a fee for use of "premium" features.
On the other hand, World of Tanks Blitz is the pocket version of World of Tanks (WOT) and is accessible on Android and IOS. This game features a more limited set of tanks but still maintains a large catalog of vehicles. Blitz also focuses on delivering a more high-octane game style. The difference in the Number of Players in a Battle:
2. Total Numbers of Players in a Battle
In World of Tanks: PC there are 15 people in one team and a total of 30 players in the whole game, while there are only 14 players in the whole game in World of Tanks: Blitz and a total number of 7 players in one team. This shows that World of Tanks: Blitz is the pocket version of the game World of Tanks: PC.
3. Total Number of Tanks by Comparison:
The game World of Tanks: PC currently includes over 600 armored vehicles from Britain, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Poland, the Soviet Union, Sweden, and the United States. Each nation has a tech tree with at least one branch of vehicles ranging from tier I (lowest) to tier X; players progress by playing games in the vehicles in a branch.
At the time of launch, World of Tanks Blitz offered players only 90 historical vehicles from 3 countries. Now, the game's roster includes over 370 armored vehicles from 8 nations.
4. Kinds of Tanks and their Properties:
In World of Tanks, there are five vehicle types.
Light tanks. Maneuverable vehicles with compact dimensions, good concealment, and view range, but with poor armoring and firepower.
Medium tanks. Versatile units, quite maneuverable, with considerable firepower and armor, and often with an excellent view range.
Heavy tanks. Vehicles with low maneuverability, but decent armor and a powerful gun that can endure and cause considerable damage.
Tank destroyers. As a rule, weakly armored vehicles with a fully accurate long-range gun. Such vehicles are characterized by good concealment and can fire for effect from ambush.
Self-propelled guns are also known as Artilleries. Slow and poorly armored assault guns with High-Explosive shells firing at long distances can stun or cause damage to several vehicles at once.
While in World of Tanks: Blitz, there are only 4 types of vehicles
Light tanks. Maneuverable vehicles with compact dimensions, good concealment, and view range, but with poor armoring and firepower.
Medium tanks. Versatile units, quite maneuverable, with considerable firepower and armor, and often with a perfect view range.
Heavy tanks. Vehicles with low maneuverability, but decent armor and a powerful gun that can endure and cause considerable damage.
Tank destroyers. As a rule, weakly armored vehicles with an extremely accurate long-range gun. Such vehicles are characterized by good concealment and can fire for effect from ambush.
5. Total Number of Downloads and Players:
World of Tanks has been around for over a decade, but the free-to-play military MMO is still a favorite among fans. Not only does the game have over 160 million players roaming its battlefields, but it also receives regular updates that keep it feeling as fresh as it did ten years ago.
Released on iOS originally, World of Tanks Blitz later expanded to four other platforms: Android, MacOSmacOS, Steam, and Windows 10. With this expansion, the game has more than 120 million downloads worldwide and a daily active audience of more than 1.5 million.
6. Size of the Maps:
Now, this should not come as a surprise to any of you as you already know that the number of players in the PC version is twice as much as the number of players on the mobile version and that is why the maps are like 4 times bigger in the PC version compared to the maps in the Blitz version.
7. Shell Loading Mechanism:
One of the key features in the game, be it World of Tanks Pc or World of Tanks: Blitz, is the shell loading mechanism and it defines the experience you have in the game. Still, the Shell loading mechanism is different in the two games, in World of Tanks: Pc, you will have to reload the whole shell if you want to load some other shell except the one already loaded. In Blitz, you can easily load Premium. Say, if you are in an Fv215b 183, you would have to wait 18 seconds to change your whole shell. So, yes, it is an incredibly significant difference in both the games, which can truly change your experience and performance in a match.
8. Armor Profiles:
Another key difference between both games is the way that they handle the Armor Profiles, the World of Tanks PC does not display tank flaws or weak spots. There is no way for us to know where to shoot the tank if it is the Turret or the top of the tank. So, that is another thing World of Tanks PC lacks, but I am down for this as it becomes quite easy for the blitz players to detect the weak spots and just aim for them. If you are a beginner, however, you can get help from pro players in boosting your account.
9. Time Taken to Play a Single Battle:
Blitz matches only last 7 minutes (about 4 on average) and is made to be played on PC and even phones. The graphics are not as good, and the maps are smaller than World of Tanks: PC. But since there are more players and bigger maps in World of Tanks: PC an average battle usually takes 5 to 15 minutes. In the Standard Battle mode and Encounter Battle mode, if at the end of 15 minutes there are tanks of both teams on the battlefield or neither of the bases has been captured, a tie is declared.
10. Which game should you play?
These are just a few of the many differences that both titles have but it all comes down to player preference as to decide which one is better than the other. I am going to preface this by saying this is not a "Hurr de Hurr World of Tanks is better than Blitz new Faggs" or vice versa, because to be perfectly honest they are geared towards distinct types of players. What I WILL do is point out some things I have noticed that they do that give them an edge over the other.
1. Tank movement: Tanks feel like they move a lot faster in WOT compared to Blitz, that does not mean they ARE faster, they just feel more responsive and quicker. Dodging a shot feels a lot easier in full WOT than Blitz
2. Shooting: Blitz is more fun to shoot on, mostly because you do not have to worry about the shell dropping as much. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to score a shot on a moving target at distance and having RNG [edited] you harder than an angry goat. Blitz is not at the point where it feels like you will score a hit just having your turret pointed in their general direction, but it does make the gameplay more fun when you are not whiffing shells 10 meters over someone because the dispersion decided that is how it works.
3. Tanks: WOT has more tanks, so that is more fun because you can try driving and playing with several types of tanks as much as you want. The inclusion of more nations and more tank variants helps to ensure gameplay is diverse at all tiers. That keeps it interesting and keeps it partially balanced.
4. Credits and XP: Blitz has the system down pat. Credits are much easier to earn in Blitz, as is XP. Not having to buy modules after researching them makes the game feel more rewarding and less grindy.
So, if you want more vehicles and a larger player-base give WOT a shot. If you enjoy playing something quick, fun, and fast, go with Blitz.
