"A strong man doesn’t need to read the future. He makes his own"

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has finally been released, and by the looks of it, it's gonna have a great run.
Rumor has it that it's selling like crazy in Tokyo, sales started out like something out of a Fast & Furious movie on the first day, high sales going strong on the second day, selling numerous PS4 versions and even a lot of PS3's on the third day.  The PS4 version of the game seems to be beating the PS3 version by quite a lot. Apparently, there's a large number of shops that have completely sold out the PS3 and PS4 game.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain had a monstrous $80 Million development budget, the game needing to sell around 5 or 6 million copies in order to break even. The game has already sold 3 million copies within it's first five days of release, so by the looks of it, breaking even really shouldn't be a problem. The predecessor of MGS5, Metal gear solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, sold roughly the same amount in it's first week, however, it was exclusive to one platform, while The Phantom Pain was released on several. The Phantom Pain was critically acclaimed upon release, with it's gameplay being the subject of praise for featuring a large variety of mechanics and interconnected systems with allow a high degree of player freedom. The story drew criticism from a few reviewers for it's lack of focus, but most of the reviews are positive, acknowledging the emotional power and the exploration of mature themes that the game is powerful in. The game received amazing review scores from several large publications, such as Famitsu, Gamespot and IGN, some even went as far as describing it as the greatest game in the MGS series.

The developers sum up the plot of the game in a much simpler way:

"The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan has brought a new edge to the Cold War, and in 1984, a one-eyed man with a prosthetic arm appears in the country."

All of this sums up to one badass game that I'm pretty sure most people would enjoy playing.
