Whether you are a peasant searching for your true cause, a gang member trying to rise through the ranks, or a warrior looking to face great evils in order to save the land, a great RPG lets you play the parts in great detail and tremendous fashion. 

You become engulfed within a story that plays out like a movie and you truly feel like what you do matters. RPGs have always been around, but here’s a list of 15 of them worth playing in 2018 through 2019.

6. Tom Clancy's The Division 2

Set in a true scaled representation of Washington DC, protect the survivors of a virus outbreak in a post pandemic world while banding together against the many other factions that are trying to claim the city for themselves. Customize your load-out with a huge variety of guns and skills to outgun your opponents no matter where they are. More realistic A.I. means the enemies will be hiding, sniping and flanking you while you duck and hide under cover of heavy gunfire from a wide range of foes. PvP has also been overhauled for a more improved system than the original game.

The Division 2 has been increased into a full scale 1:1 version of Washington DC. See the sites of the capital. Just try not to get shot.

There is every bit of care put into detail of Washington DC’s map as there was in the first game’s New York City.

5. Divinity Original Sin 2

There are many main characters with a great deal of detail. They all have unique story lines of their own.

Fort Joy is where you are imprisoned. It is also where you will make your escape by any means necessary.

4. Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition

3. Wasteland 3

This isometric RPG has an involved and improved turn based combat system where you can use vehicles and the environment around you.

The world in Anthem has breathtaking detail. You’ll find yourself so busy admiring the details that you won’t notice how hostile it is until it’s too late.

This “Shaper Storm” is a world changing event that will offer up new quests and areas to explore.

Set in a colonial 17th century fantasy, travel to a remote island in search of the answer to an incurable disease that is killing the people of the Old World. Whether it’s melee or magic, create your own play style using an advanced system that isn’t based on classes. Build your reputation by choosing whether you progress by blood or diplomacy, where your decisions will affect your companions and the factions that control the island.

The island may be home to riches and possibly a cure for the plague, but it is also home to mythical creatures and monsters.

The island is also home to other factions that may or may not want you there.
