Apex Legends is a popular first-person shooter Battle Royale; finding the best settings is always something to tinker with, especially for incoming players. Audio settings are necessary throughout Multiplayer, and throughout this article, we will be discussing the top ten best audio settings that give you an advantage.

10. Audio: Master Volume

The overall game volume affects Voice Chat and Advance audio settings in Apex Legends. While players may have already adjusted their advance settings, the Master Volume may affect them.

How adjusting the Master Volume fixes the problem:

  • Finding the medium in the Master Volume first will help players determine how they want to adjust their advanced settings.
  • The Master Volume may change all the audio, increasing or decreasing the setting. Players preferably keep it at 100%.

How to apply setting:

  • Open Apex Legends settings.
  • Click on the Audio tab.
  • Locate “Master Volume.”
  • Select 100%

9. Audio: Voice Chat Record Mode

The setting allows players to connect their microphones with an Open Mic or a Push to Talk key during multiplayer games. An Open Mic can create background noise or feedback to their teammates, which can be distracting.

How Push to Talk fixes the problem:

  • There will be no background or feedback noise for other teammates.
  • Binding Push to Talk can give players the option to voice without interrupting teammates sporadically.

How to apply setting:

  • Open Apex Legends settings.
  • Click on the Audio tab.
  • Locate “Voice Chat Record Mode.”
  • Select “Push to Talk.”

8. Audio: Open Mic Threshold

Players who either choose the option Open Mic or Push to Talk can adjust the voice volume that is being projected. Lowering the threshold becomes more sensitive while increasing it requires speaking louder.

How adjusting the Open Mic Threshold fixes the problem:

  • Lowering the threshold bar can help others comprehend information.
  • Increasing the threshold bar will make require speaking louder but becomes sensitive for others.

How to apply setting:

  • Open Apex Legends settings.
  • Click on the Audio tab.
  • Locate “Open Mic Record Threshold.”
  • Adjust the threshold lower to the suggested line 1320.

7. Audio: Sound Effects Volume

The setting allows players to adjust the sound effects during Multiplayer games. Having the setting on low will drastically affect gameplay if players are not able to hear.

How increasing Sound Effects Volume fixes the problem:

  • Footsteps, environment, and gunshots are increased, helping players to hear gameplay.
  • Maximizing the volume can give players the full hearing of sound effects.

How to apply setting:

  • Open Apex Legends settings.
  • Click on the Audio tab.
  • Locate “Sound Effects Volume.”
  • Maximize setting to 100%

6. Audio: Music Volume

While skydiving onto Apex Legends maps, players will hear their choice of music during Multiplayer. The setting too high can be challenging for players to listen to their teammates making callouts looking at the map.

How decreasing Music Volume fixes the problem:

  • Players will be able to hear their teammates effectively in the dropship.

How to apply setting

  • Open Apex Legends settings.
  • Click on the Audio tab.
  • Locate “Music Volume.”
  • Decrease the setting to 0%

5. Audio: Sound In Background

The setting allows game sound to play even if it's not an active application. Personal computer players could use alt-tab to look at YouTube or Twitch on their monitor or side monitor. However, if this setting is disabled, the game audio will not be available during the match.

How applying Sound In Background fixes the problem:

  • Turning on the setting will make sure players can still hear the game in the background.
  • Players hearing the game in the background will comprehend what is happening during the game while being tabbed out.

How to apply settings:

  • Open Apex Legends settings.
  • Click on the Audio tab.
  • Locate “Sound In Background.”
  • Select “On.”

4. Play Incoming Text Chat as Speech

Players may communicate with their teammates using Push to Talk, Open Mic, or Text Chat. While some players may not have microphones and access to communicating besides Text Chat, there is an option that may distract players in the middle of a battle. The setting allows the chat to be voiced out loud, which can be noise disturbing.

How disabling Incoming Text Chat as Speech fixes the problem:

  • Disabling the setting will not distract teammates.
  • Disabling the setting will help teammates focus.

How to apply setting:

  • Open Apex Legends settings.
  • Click on the Audio tab.
  • Locate “Play Incoming Text Chat as Speech.”
  • Select “Off.”

3. Audio: Convert Incoming Voice to Chat Text

When players are communicating with one another in Multiplayer, their words will convert into Chat Text. The setting can be distracting during the middle of a fight covering a portion of the player’s screen.

How disabling Convert Incoming Voice to Chat Text fixes the problem:

  • The player's screen will not be overwhelmed with chat messages from communicating teammates.
  • Players will be able to hear their teammates without any distractions or unnecessary enabled settings.

How to apply setting:

  • Open Apex Legends settings.
  • Click on the Audio tab.
  • Locate “Convert Incoming Voice to Chat Text.”
  • Select “Off.”

2. Audio: Incoming Voice Chat Volume

The setting allows players to adjust their teammate's voice during Multiplayer. The default setting is maxed to 100%, preferable; lowering the volume can help players focus during the game.

How lowering Incoming Voice Chat Volume fixes the problem:

  • Reducing the volume can help players improve their surrounding hearing.
  • Increasing the volume may help players hear their teammates but minimize their surrounding sounds.

How to apply setting:

  • Open Apex Legends settings.
  • Click on the Audio tab.
  • Locate “Incoming Voice Chat Volume.”
  • Lower the volume to 50% to hear surroundings better.
  • Increase the volume to 100% to hear teammates better.

1. Audio: Dialogue Volume

The setting is the volume in Multiplayer when Legends are pinging, making commands, and speaking lore lines. The chatter can be loud and disturbing for a team fight or during a map rotation. Players may use the setting to their advantage or disadvantage for communication or personal one-on-one battles.

How adjusting the Dialogue Volume fixes the problem:

  • Lowering the volume will cut the chatter out.
  • Players will be able to hear footsteps or surrounding settings.

How to apply setting

  • Open Apex Legends settings.
  • Click on the Audio tab.
  • Locate “Dialogue Volume.”
  • Decrease the volume to zero.
