First of all, let’s describe some useful terms, like Tether distance. This means you can invite your friends to play with you without going to the trouble of hosting a dedicated server. However, as you will all be on a non-dedicated server, your friends’ characters will be tethered to the host, and they won’t be able to go more than a specific distance. The good news is that this distance can be easily set from the game’s settings, by following some simple steps.
How it works:
- Open the game and click on Host/Local
- Find the “General” menu in the left part of the screen and scroll down
- Find the text “Non-Dedicated host tether distance”. Under this text, there will be a box with a random number
- Adjust that number to its highest value
