Ark’s maps are fascinating, so fascinating that it’s easy to get lost while enjoying the views, or while running for your life. Both are viable options. Either way, knowing how to use a map and find your current location are crucial skills if you want to advance in this complex game. There are two methods available. One requires you to simply learn how to read a map, as it has plenty of landmarks you can use to get a better idea of your location. At least one obelisk can be seen on any map. Moreover, the sun truly goes from east to west, and that’s even more useful than a compass. The other option is to always carry a sleeping bag with you. It’s indeed a lot easier.
How it works:
- Craft a sleeping bag
- If you don’t know how to read the map yet, carry the bag with you at all times
- Place it on the ground and check the map. It will now show your location and the places you can travel to if you have other sleeping bags available
