Piranhas are the creatures from your nightmares. They are so little, yet so feared, as they managed to make any new Ark player fear swimming in deep waters. Just when you thought you’ve found a peaceful river to pass, you found yourself attacked by these annoying demons. Piranhas deal 22 damage per attack and the best weapons against them are pikes or spears. The good news is that they can also be tamed and used as efficient combat creatures.

What makes Piranhas deadly:

  • They take you by surprise
  • Fast swimmers that easily confuse you during battle
  • Piranhas employ swarm tactics to kill their prey
  • They usually attack in groups

9. Kaprosuchus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piwkWMji_ew&ab_channel=PhlingerPhoo

This is a purple swamp terror with teeth big enough to instantly tear you apart. What makes this predator one of the most feared Ark creatures is its powerful attacks that drag you under the water and drain your stamina for good. It can snatch you right off your mount and its moves are tactically prepared so you won’t stand a chance. Luckily, there are always shields and armors available, as well as powerful melee weapons or guns to protect you.

What makes the Kaprosuchus deadly:

  • Powerful leap and grab attacks
  • It hides patiently under the water, then jumps laterally to drag you under the water
  • Attacks your vital areas in particular
  • Drains your stamina

8. Allosaurus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETm44R6x25E&ab_channel=PhlingerPhoo

This one is a classic pack-hunting theropod. With excellent, synchronized attacks, sharp teeth, and deadly bite, the Allosaurus is a dinosaur to play with. If you see a pack of these and you’re not well equipped, simply run and avoid contact. In packs, they are granted a damage boost of 50% and even take 25% less damage from their enemies. Even more, groups can use a special bleeding attack that will leave you drained and suffering to death.

What makes the Allosaurus deadly:

  • The Alpha Roar that freezes you
  • Gashed effect with 25 instant damage
  • The target bleeds out 5% max health every 10 seconds
  • The bite attack deals 35 damage
  • It runs 57% faster than a human

7. Carnotaurus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mO_Qzjq4evo&ab_channel=Tecorsuh

The Carnotaurus is a fast, deadly predator of medium dimensions. Luckily for us, it usually prefers solitude. It’s compared to the “cheetah” of the map, as the real thread this creature poses is its speed. Once it targeted you, there are only 2 options: kill it or die. Their headbutt attack can knock you unconscious and one of their bites deals 35 damage. Overall, you’d never expect a relatively small predator to be this powerful but never be fooled by its appearance.

What makes the Carnotaurus deadly:

  • It can’t be immobilized with a Bola
  • You can’t run from it
  • If found near a Yuttyranus, it deals 25% more damage and even gains damage resistance
  • It has an excellent base damage

6. Utahraptor

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egwSFIf0ePs&ab_channel=GojiFan2001

This fancy name refers to the classic Raptor. The Raptor is another example of a powerful, deadly, yet not so intimidating creature. Its size may fool you, but its intelligence and mobility will get you killed in no time. Raptors are night predators that attack in packs, so your survival chances are slim if you’re not equipped properly. The Alpha of the group can even use vocalization to give its pack a 45 seconds damage boost.

What makes the Raptor deadly:

  • Bonus damage for each pack member
  • It attacks from behind
  • Fast and agile predator
  • 20 damage Melee Pounce attack

5. Tusoteuthis

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcX2KmVGGpc&ab_channel=Tecorsuh

Now it’s time to move to the dangers that lie underwater. The Tusoteuthis is an extremely aggressive water predator that slowly crushes its prey while using its tentacle to suck its blood. It is exactly as evil as it sounds, so never underestimate this creature. And as this wasn’t enough, even with powerful weapons, killing the Tusoteuthis is not an easy job. When its health pool is low, it sprays blinding ink everywhere, covering its sneaky escape.

What makes the Tusoteuthis deadly:

  • Its crush deals 100 damage
  • 65 damage tentacle slap attack
  • Gran mechanism and incredible health pool
  • It deals a final attack using its blinding ink

4. T-Rex

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bcny2ws640&ab_channel=PhlingerPhoo

The T-Rex is the predator that dominates the island. This creature is a killing machine that shows no mercy. Even its roar can scare the hell out of you, literally having a petrifying effect. It can destroy trees as it walks and it has perfectly balanced stats that make its attacks lethal. On the other hand, if you manage to tame it, you get yourself the most fearless battle companion.

What makes the Tyrannosaurus deadly:

  • Menacing roar to frighten the enemy
  • Its bite deals 62 damage
  • Balanced amounts of primary stats
  • Even Flak armor isn’t efficient against it

3. Mosasaurus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvQuDnoLSOE&ab_channel=PhlingerPhoo

The Mosasaurus is the greatest ocean predator you’ll ever encounter in Ark. It can grow as large as 50 feet and it can be found in deep waters, so at least you’re safe from its attacks as a new player. It has a considerable aggro radius and will follow you long distances. The Mosasaurus has 100 base damage and possesses the second greatest health pool of all aquatic creatures. Imagine it is so strong that it takes just a few seconds for it to kill you if it catches you off guard.

What makes the Mosasaurus deadly:

  • Its dark color is incredibly efficient as a camouflage
  • Insane health pool
  • Deals 100 damage per attack
  • Enormous dimensions

2. DodoRex

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKB6oHyMnS4&ab_channel=Syntac

DodoRex firstly appeared in Genesis: Part 2 and changed Ark’s dynamics for good. Its frontal fire breath affects a 90+ degree area and can even damage metal structures. This dinosaur regenerates 250 hit points per second, so its health pool never seems to decrease. It needs several players and a great effort to take this one down. Also, its aspect suggests exactly its intentions. It looks like a feathered Tyrannosaurus with the head of a Dodo who’s going to tear you apart instantly.

What makes the DodoRex deadly:

  • Breaths flames that burn away 20% of the target's maximum health for 10 seconds
  • Deals 666 damage per melee attack
  • It’s immune to bleeding
  • It’s almost as large as a Giganotosaurus

1. Giganotosaurus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iu09v_oGVqc&t=8s&ab_channel=PhlingerPhoo

This one is probably the largest and most terrifying dinosaur of them all. It’s so large that it doesn’t even have to bother to attack you, it can simply step on you. Its rage grows rapidly after every hit, actually enhancing its stamina and becoming stronger and stronger with every attack you inflict on it. It’s the nightmare you want to avoid and it can barely control its temper even when it’s tamed. Its devastating attacks and unbelievably large health pool make it the most dangerous creature that’s out there.

What makes the Giganotosaurus deadly:

  • Menacing roar to frighten survivors
  • Every bite deals 500 damage
  • Boosted Gnash attack that inflicts 500 damage
  • Impressive dimensions
