Drawbacks: To upgrade your players, you should receive a one-time prize or box of cards as your league advances; otherwise, it takes an eternity to do so, and it then takes an equally long time to become competitive in higher leagues.

 It becomes impossible to win when you fast advance through the leagues since your guys quickly fall behind and wind up being 3-5 levels below everyone else's players.
