Based on the interactive online game, this card game adaptation pits you against even your best of friends. Every person gets a role and a secret goal to attempt to complete. Try not to be caught if you’re evil or act sus in the slightest or else you will be tried and hanged before the town. Build your mob, attack the coven, or thrive as a townsperson: either way, you’re in for a fun time.
If you enjoy the online game, you’ll enjoy this as well. It adds more of a personal flair that the PC game is lacking yet still brings the intrigue that it is known for. You might make some enemies, though, but that’s all the name of the game, right?

13. Eldrich Horror
Eldrich Horror: A board game of global mystery.
Just a group of buddies trying to kill a bunch of soulless demons. What could be more fun? This game is based on Arkham Horror, which is also based on H.P. Lovecraft’s stories. This particular game, though, involves the solving of three mystery cards that guide the game. You must work together with your buddies to complete all the quests and defeat all the demons.
If you love to be spooked and solve mysteries, then this is the perfect game for you. Each game is different as you run through the motions of “tests” that are based on your chosen character’s skill set. Don’t have anyone to play with? No problem because you can even play by yourself and still have all the fun with all the spooks.

A retro-inspired dungeon building game that is simple yet unique. You start the game with all players randomly choosing their own “boss monster”. The goal is to build a cave that will lure and therefore destroy any wandering adventurers. Whoever destroys the most heroes wins, and you will officially be the ultimate boss monster. What’s better than that?
This game is tons of fun and requires little set-up. There are not a ton of rules, so you can whip this game out with your friends and begin almost immediately. Each game lasts about an hour, so get started and get slaying!

10. Pandemic
Pandemic: Too Topical.
Topical, right? This has been declared as one of the Best Games of 2020, and its popularity is seriously rising fast. You play as elite members of the Center for Disease Control (or, as we are painfully aware, the CDC) and try your best to prevent the spread of four terrible diseases. To win, all you have to do is find the cures for each disease. Easy enough, right?
For as topical as this game currently is, it is still a whole bunch of fun. You work together yet it still gets competitive as the game goes on. You want to be the one who ends the horribly annoying pandemic and be the hero!

9. Mysterium
Mysterium: Seance for the Modern Age
You gather around with your friends to conduct a seance. One person acts as the “ghost” who is trying to give you clues about a recent murder. Images dance before you and you have to try to guess who the ghost is guiding you to, in what room this murder took place, and with what weapon. It’s like Clue, but if a ghost was the only one who had the answers.
This game is non-stop fun, especially when you work together to try to pull tiny symbols from the most opaque of images. The ghost, who acts almost as a narrator, definitely has the most fun, watching as everyone reads too much into the wrong clues.

8. Mansions of Madness: Second Edition
A game of exploration, mystery, and horror.
Another Lovecraft-inspired game where one player is in control of trying to keep the other players from conquering the evil that the former is havocking. “Investigators” work together to try to defeat any and all evil that comes their way while the “keeper” tries to foil all of their plans. Each game features a new mystery so you will never run out of scary stories to keep you coming back.
This game is an absolute blast and is a favorite among many horror board game regulars. The opportunities are endless, and each game is unique. So many mysteries to uncover and so many fun times to be had!

5. Psycho Raiders
They hunt, you die!
Want a real scare? This game follows a group of lost travelers who have come across the terrifying Psycho Raiders, a relentless team of killers whose goal is to kill all of the innocent travelers. The players are split up into teams: the travelers versus the Psycho Raiders.
This game is not for the faint of heart. With an 18+ age rating, you’re in for a real horror treat when you play this. The creators even advise against pregnant women and those with a “fragile or nervous deposition” playing the game at all! It is branded as a “horror simulation experience”, so you truly feel like you are in the game with all its gruesome twists and terrifying turns. Think you can handle it?

This game is psychopathic, but so much fun. You can bribe guests or kill them, even burying their bodies on the grounds of your inn. Just don’t get caught and be the best killer you can be.

The Blind Boardgame
One of the most unique games on the list, this one involves blindfolds and the inability to actually look at the board. One player is the hunter while the rest are the hunted, trying their best to get out of the forest in the pitch-black dark. They feel around the maze-like board to find a way out without actually being able to see where they are going. Meanwhile, the hunter sees perfectly fine and attempts to foil all the plans of the blind.
This is definitely one of the most creative and unique board games out there. The inability to see really takes the game to the next level and allows for genuine competitiveness when it comes to who will be the winner.

2. One Night Ultimate Werewolf

Then, suddenly, you or one of the other players will trigger a “haunt” which means that one of the people within the house has become a traitor and is using paranormal powers to kill you and your teammates. Your goal is to get out alive.
Each haunt is different from the last so you can play as many times as you want. Not only this, but the company has come out with expansions for more fun and more haunts. This is an immediate favorite and will give you the spooks while forcing you to think ahead and strategize your every move.
