The Joker has become one of the most intriguing figures in not only comic book history but cinematic history as well. Given that the cinematic version of the character has grown so famous and multiple actors have won Oscars for portraying him. Here are the best movies with Joker in them!

10. Suicide Squad (2016)

Jared Leto's performance was controversial, which featured him frequently snarling and being covered with tattoos and a lip grill. Joker had a far more essential part in the movie, but studio intervention led to his being largely chopped out and what remains of the role appears extraneous. Despite being blasted by reviewers, the movie was a big smash and a Joker-less sequel, The Suicide Squad, is coming out shortly.

9. The Killing Joke (2016)

Based on one of the most famous Batman comic books of all time, The Killing Joke was the animated film version that included the voices of iconic Batman: The Animated Series actors Kevin Conroy as Batman and, of course, fan-favorite Mark Hamill as The Joker.

The classic narrative reveals The Joker's scheme to torture Commissioner Gordon, while also giving flashbacks to the villain's twisted background. The film garnered mixed reviews from reviewers and moviegoers who liked the voice acting but highly criticized the unneeded insertion of new plot aspects, notably in respect to Batgirl.

8. Zack Snyder's Justice League

Despite not being in the much-maligned theatrical edition of Justice League, Jared Leto had a shot at atonement when he took part in a new sequence for the 4-hour Justice League director's cut that mirrored Zack Snyder's actual vision.

Leto appears as The Joker in a single scene that takes place in a horrific apocalypse, sometimes termed the Knightmare Future, where Batman has really linked up with Joker for a scheme to redeem the chronology. Gone are the tattoos and mouth grill, as Batman and Joker face off in a particularly riveting dialogue that dives into their dark history together. Fans were substantially more receptive of Leto's performance this time around, with his presence being one of the greatest discussion topics relating to the widely-publicized film.

7. Batman (1966)

Cesar Romero's depiction of the Joker in the 1960s Adam West Batman television series was the only known live-action representation of the character before Jack Nicholson became the famous role. As with the rest of the show, his acting is exaggerated and campy, reflecting the comic's Golden Age nature. Infamously, Romero refused to cut his mustache, so spectators can see that his Joker makeup is put over it if they look attentively.

From 1966 through 1968, Romero portrayed the Joker in 22 episodes and repeated the character in the feature film. In the film, Joker joins forces with Penguin, Catwoman, and The Riddler in an attempt to destroy the United Nations Security Council. As this story summary implies, the film adheres closer to the campy tone of the television series and was a fan favorite.

6. The Batman

It seems quite unjust to put Barry Keoghan's interpretation of the Joker so low, particularly considering how little he appeared in The Batman. However, the deleted clip from the film reveals much more about what to anticipate from the Clown Prince of Crime in a prospective sequel.

Includes a bone-chilling chuckle and the ability to get under Bats' skin better than others. The judgment is still out on the appearance and lasting grin of Joker's deathly-white skin, but it provides a sturdy base. If Keoghan excels in a sequel, he will likely score quite high on this list. 5. Batman (1989)

Despite the awards garnered by Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix for their interpretations, Jack Nicholson's Joker is perhaps the most famous film depiction of the character. The picture stars Michael Keaton as Batman and covers the origin tale of the hero, but as spectators found upon seeing Jack Nicholson's name at the top of the opening credits, this is the Joker's film. Batman then attempts to prevent The Joker from poisoning Gotham City.

He is so dominant that he even overshadows the protagonist. Despite the fact that there have been and will continue to be several Jokers, fans will continue to adore Jack Nicholson's iconic portrayal of the Joker for years to come.

4. Birds Of Prey (2020)

Despite being dubbed Birds of Prey, this film concentrates mostly on Harley Quinn, with Margot Robbie demonstrating once again that she was destined to portray this character. In the film, Harley breaks up with The Joker and joins up with the Birds of Prey to take on a new villain, Black Mask, portrayed by Ewan McGregor, who is considered one of the finest villains in the DCEU to date.

Critics and moviegoers adored Margot Robbie's performance in Suicide Squad but disliked Jared Leto's portrayal of the Joker in that picture; so, although being a crucial part of this film's backstory, he is never heard and is only seen in one moment from behind. The producers seemed to distance themselves from Jared Leto's portrayal of the Joker until Justice League director Zack Snyder offered him a second opportunity.

3. Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, based on the immensely famous 1990s animated series, has Batman investigating a mystery vigilante who is killing mobsters. Joker enters the plot late in the film, when Batman deduces that he will be the vigilante's next target.

Warner Bros. opted to distribute it in cinemas, despite the fact that it was originally meant for direct-to-video distribution. However, reviewers and fans adored it, and many now consider it the finest of the theatrically released Batman films, praising its themes, soundtrack, performances by Conroy and Hamill, and portrayal of the Batman origin story.

2. Gotham

Never officially dubbed Joker, Mistah J's Gotham incarnation is, for all intents and purposes, the Clown Prince of Crime. Monaghan portrays the role in two incarnations. The original, Jerome, had unexpected tics and a shambling, aggressive energy that threatens to burst on-screen. Later, a monstrous Jeremiah is introduced, making for something incredibly unusual and unique, owing to the actor's prosthetics-laden Frankenstein's Monster-style performance. Monaghan masterfully and deftly juggles the two Jokers, one known and one unfamiliar.

1. Joker (2019)

After Heath Ledger's Oscar-winning performance as The Joker, Joaquin Phoenix earned his own Oscar for portraying the role, but in a very different way. Joker recounts the genesis of the Clown Prince of Crime, but does it in a more realistic manner. In lieu of adopting his comic book beginnings, Joker eschews the majority of the comic book components to develop its own tale.

In this rendition, the Waynes are regarded as elitists, while The Joker is often presented as a misunderstood outsider. Phillips definitely drew influence for the picture from Scorsese classics such as Taxi Driver and King of Comedy. Despite the far darker and more realistic subject matter than Batman fans are used to, the film was a huge box office success.

Conclusion

Unlike Batman's previous adversaries, the Clown Prince of Crime has been continuously reinvented on the big screen throughout the years, with each new actor who steps into the legendary villain's gigantic shoes putting a fresh twist on his signature style of combining punches with punchlines.
