[Top 15] Best Stealth Games That Are Excellent

You take the ones on the left..

The art of stealth is a dying one. Remember sneaking back home past curfew and being caught by your mum climbing your creaky stairs, the consequences were deadly. Here are some of the best stealth games for the year which do a better job of climbing those stairs and other obstacles.

15. Chernobylite | 2021 | The Farm 51 | PC, Xbox, PlayStation

Well, we had a great TV show recently then why not a survival game. Chernobylite is a very interesting take on the genre despite having a few beats from other games which become familiar after a few hours.

You play Igor who is searching for his wife Tatiana who has disappeared in the Chernobyl exclusion zone recently. The really interesting and different part of the game is actually when you die, you get taken to an alt zone which leads to you changing your decisions.

While it can be seen as ponderous and boring in places by some, the eerie backgrounds, violent monsters, and stalkers keep you on your toes while the interesting companions that join you can be charming and hilarious, not a bad game at all.

14. Shadow Tactics 2: Aiko’s Choice | 2021 | Mimi Games | PC

Respect the shoguns, the code, and respect the sword. Another interesting game that needs a little more attention in the stealth sector for the compelling story and much more.

You have a choice of 5 characters to chose from in this expansion game, all with a set of specialized moves which will all help you to complete your mission as quiet or as loud and bloody as you would like.

Commanding your team to perform various assassinations then hiding the evidence in one fair swoop, or going against complete fortresses gives you the power to feel like you can take on everyone but a weird camera issue can be frustrating though it doesn’t dampen the fun.

13. Perfect Heist 2 | 2021 | yeswecamp | PC, STEAM

Simple but effective can be just as likable as complex and difficult so why not both in good dosages. Cop and criminal games are a dime a dozen but what if you can decide to play as either one.

One team gets to play as the feds while the others play the criminals and it is really that simple, to be honest, nothing more, nothing less. Turn on your sirens get your mask on and decide which side best suits you or doesn’t.

The ability to hide and disguise yourself as a pedestrian is simple but effective while being a cop also certainly has its advantages. The characters can be very customized as is most of the games which is what makes it very addictive and hard to put down like a bag of jewels!

12. War Mongrels |2021 | Destructive games | PC, Playstation, X box S X, STEAM

The dark times of WW2 have produced many different types of games which tend to be FPS adventures but this one shows both the cruel nature which took place as well as some surprisingly black comedic moments which work despite the cruel backdrop.

This game has everything from firing squads to other disturbing moments which pull at your heartstrings while still managing to make sure you make those Nazi punks pay in the worst way possible.

While I am not the biggest fan of turn-based games in general you have to look in awe of the detail, real sound effects, and great narration from a man who used to work with the Reich back then certainly makes you appreciate the detail the makers put in this masterpiece.

11. Resident Evil Village | 2021 | Capcom | PC, PlayStation, Xbox S X

Another classic series of games that never seems to tire or get old. Though I’m not generally the biggest fan of 1st person games, this is the exception to the rule. This sequel feels more like in the vein of Resident Evil 4 than the more recent remake.

You play as Ethan Winters who is searching for his daughter while battling everything from the usual weird as resident creatures, dodgy people, and now bloody werewolves that are not from London.

Placing the game in a different location and a twisty story certain adds to the tension and the brilliant graphics. You can climb areas and there is consistently a more menacing tone running throughout this one. Much more action than horror but still a good addition.

10. Aragami 2 | 2021 | Lince Works | PC, PlayStation, Xbox S X

If you look up the ninja I’m sure you will see the phrase stealth beside it, it’s the law at this point, deal with it. Yep, I got another ninja game which I wanted to shed some light on it, or more like a bloody fog light!

You play as the assassin who is on a quest to protect his people from invaders who want to enslave kill and take over. You are of course gifted with shadow skills which do help you complete your missions and help assassinate these foes quietly & quicker than sonic on steroids.

The shadow skills are a big highlight of the game and help rather than hinder you on your very long mission which on many occasions you will have to go back to multiple times. Despite a few glitches here and there, this is another enjoyable ninja romp.

9. Metro exodus enhanced edition | 2021 | 4A Games | PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox SX. Steam

Nuclear war is always a great antidote for a survival FPS game and has returned great results in the past so why stop now? Metro Exodus continues the trend and puts our character in another war aftermath to gruesome effect.

Artyom and his wife are trying to just survive in a post-apocalyptic world using what they can to fix and update weapons food and many other items which could come in handy fighting off-radiated ghouls who just want a chunk of you.

The enhanced version makes the graphic pop even more than it already did and while the AI is still all over the place it makes up for it in the gameplay, battles, and decent story arc.

8. Far Cry 6 | 2021 | Ubisoft | PC, Xbox, PlayStation

Another long-running series that seems to be able to reinvent itself while keeping all the good things intact. The sixth sequel takes the game in a slightly different route but still puts you right up against it.

This time you play as Dani who is on a mission to topple the cruel dictator Anton Castillo the president of Yara who is teaching him to follow in his evil footsteps. It’s a lot more grounded from a lot of the other franchises and going after a heard of army soldiers can be just as fun.

With a great selection of weapons, real and over the top, a selection of great and almost transformer-like vehicles, and great voice performances from the characters this could be the best one of the series yet. Until 7 comes out of course.

7. Valheim | 2021 | Iron Gate | PC, PlayStation, Xbox

Valhallaaaaa! Oh, the Vikings are a rowdy lot but you would be too in those days I guess. Assassin creed recently dropped their version to good effect but this caper goes in a slightly different direction that’s not up Schits creek.

You are a warrior who has been taken to the Norse world where you will be able to work with up to 9 friends or alone. This is a pure survival game where the game even worries about your balanced diet. Weapon upgrades and much much more realistic parts.

Despite it coming across as a dreary open-world tale, the game is very fulfilling once you get to grips with it. The big bosses seem impossible at first and playing with mates makes it all the more worthwhile. The gods will be smiling at the heavens with this one.

6. Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut | Sucker Punch | PlayStation

While the world waits with bated breath for the sequel which surely must be a few years away (sadly) from being released, the gaming gods at sucker punch decided to give us something more to swing our swords at until that fateful day.

Yes, this is an expansion but it also offers more to an already brilliant game so who am I to say no to perfection. The mission now involves Jin traveling over to Iki island and dealing with the leader of the Mongolian Eagle tribe who is causing havoc over there.

Well, it’s more of the same with some different enemies who can do everything from changing their fighting styles to even increasing the stamina of other foes with them. You won’t hear me complaining while I’m ramming villains with my horse for taking a few more heads once again.

5. Crysis Remastered  | 2021 | Crytek | PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Steam

Well, there is nothing wrong with a good old remaster every now and again, when it’s a game that you were a big fan of it makes it all the more enjoyable to give it another go, unlike a cheating ex who feels like she can be good this time after being caught in the act.

You are a nomad a man who acquires a special nano suit which you will need to eliminate the alien threat and soldiers that are littered all over an island where an island structure has recently been discovered at.

While the first game is not my favorite of the franchise, it’s always a memorable honor to go back to where it all started and use the suit for the first time. Ray tracing has been added to the graphics and it does feel a lot smoother in parts but of course, I want the 4th sequel more.

 4. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 |CI Games | PC, Xbox, PlayStation.

We all love those scenes in war movies where a sniper is able to pull off a shot from an outrageous distance without breaking a sweat so, of course, a game that can give us that feeling is definitely a godsend.

You are Raven a man on a mission to assassinate, irritate, and multiple targets and as cool away as you choose. This one has a lot more thinking and planning than your average FPS game but you can still go in guns blazing and have some good close-range battles.

While the game doesn’t always explain the tasks you are given exactly to a t, the weapon upgrades flash gadgets plus intensity, when you are spotted, creates a decent fun shooter which you should definitely keep an eye on.

3. Little Nightmares 2 | 2021 | Tarsier Studios | Xbox, PC, PlayStation

Survival is a trait that everybody should possess but most of this generation couldn’t survive without their iPhones longer than 5 minutes let alone escape an area filled with weird monsters and weird-looking kids, To be honest, we all would be taken out pretty swiftly.

You are Mono a kid with a paper bag on your head who ends up helping the main character Six from the previous game in the pale city. They both will help each other will have to find new and interesting way’s to escape as quietly as possible.

This sequel finds a way to raise the stakes and also gives you a lot more help with Six, the ability to hold each other’s hands so you don’t get too ahead of each other is cute but once the story unfolds you can see why this will be in a lot of peoples best of 2021 list.

2. Deathloop | 2021 | Arkane | PlayStation, PC

Some loops are fun like hula hoops back in the day while other loops are just boring, doing the same thing over and over again. Can Death loop break the chain or just be another vicious circle of the fight, die than repeat every gamer experiences in every game?

Death loop breaks the loop more than it tramples on it to death (Ha) You play as Colt, a man who wakes up and is told in order for him to break a time loop he is stuck in, he must take out 8 targets. Yes, it’s easier said than done but it’s a hell of a good time trying again and again.

Everything about this game has clearly had a lot of thought around it. Simple things like studying a location and the enemies protecting this target give you hitman vibes at times, but that goes out the window when the bullets bodies and bad language fly’s everywhere.

1. Hitman 3 |2021 | IO Interactive | PC, Xbox, PlayStation

Except for James Bond, not many trained killers have withstood the test of time while having their characters in multimedia form, everything from comics, games, and movies based on them at once. Agent 47 is back with another banger for 2021.

Once again you are Agent 47 who aims to put an end to the partners once and for all. Like all Hitman games, this game has Agent going to multiple locations and taking out many targets and that’s the exact reason why we still like the franchise.

This version has a lot of world-building elements while continuing the running themes from the previous games. The mission in Berlin is definitely a big favorite and your lack of cover makes it an even more exhilarating task than usual.  The 3rd game is a worthy sequel in the franchise.
