[Top 10] Clash Royale Best Decks
Whilst Clash Royale seems like an easy action card game, knowing which decks to create can make or break your chance of winning. Luckily, this post is here to help by showing you the top 10 best decks available! It’s important to note that although the decks below all have great combinations and strategies, that alone won’t guarantee a win. Sometimes cards will be paired against ones that counter it perfectly or need to be played a certain way. Practicing in 1V1 showdowns or against clan mates whilst trying these strategies will ensure that you get the most out of playing!
10. ELECTRO GIANT
Strong, mean, and electric, this deck takes out enemy towers whilst giving the best defensive angle possible.
- Average elixir cost: 4.1
- Win condition of Electro Giant
- Dark Prince good against high-cost units
How to optimise this deck:
- Tornado makes enemies vulnerable to areas of effect damage like Giant’s electric field or Fireball.
- Keep the Giant healed and remember that he only targets towers, building cards will distract him!
- Use Dark Prince as a response to opponents playing large units at the back.
- Small enemies can be pulled with a Tornado towards your king tower to activate it, good for extra defence!
- If an opponent plays a building, the Fireball is good against it.
- Air troops can be attacked with both dragons.
9. LUMBERLOON DRAGONS
Although the balloon has a lower damage now, its hit speed has been increased, making it stronger when stuck by a tower.
- Average elixir cost: 4.0
- Balloon win condition
- Freeze opponent’s towers
How to optimise this deck:
- Pair the Balloon with the Lumberjack for bonus speed, freeze enemy towers.
- Inferno Dragon and Bowler perfect for defence.
- Tornado paired with Electric Dragon.
- Barbarian Barrel is perfect against Goblins and Skeleton Armies and acts as a mini tank in front of Balloon.
8. GOBLIN BARREL BAIT
A classic but a risk if dealing with heavy players, better for arenas such as 8-10.
- Average elixir cost: 3.3
- Princess acts as the ‘bait’
- Goblin Gang cheap swarm
How to optimise this deck:
- Wait until the opponent has gotten rid of the Princess, most likely through a Log or Barbarian Barrel and then you can throw Goblin Barrel.
- Make sure your Goblin Barrel is directly over the tower, so the Goblins split up, that way if they use a card it takes longer to kill all three.
- If they have a good solution to your Barrel, try throwing it further into the corner or right at the back to trick opponents.
- Inferno Tower and Knight are for defence but Rocket works too if needed.
7. GIANT GRAVEYARD
This season the Giant is the one to watch!
- Average elixir cost: 4.1
- Perfect for defence
- Best versatility
How to optimise this deck:
- Giant is the win condition and Dark Prince can act as tank or defend.
- Witch and Inferno Dragon are best for attacking buildings or air.
- Be wary! There are no buildings so use Skeleton army and Fireball against quick troops like Hog Rider.
- Mini Pekka is a good substitute for Dark Prince if used for defence.
6. BANDIT BRIDGE
With Bandit’s brains and Pekka’s Brawn, this is one deadly match!
- Average elixir cost: 3.8
- Battle Ram win condition
- Most cards can be dropped at bridge or placed at the back
How to optimise this deck:
- If they have Inferno Tower or Inferno Dragon be sure to add Electro Wizard to interrupt them.
- Send Bandit to push forward and Battle Ram straight after as it ignores troops.
- As there are no buildings, be sure to have Minions on standby against air and spells can help them.
5. LAVALOON
A deadlier Lumberloon if used correctly.
- Average elixir cost: 4.0
- Focuses on aerial assault
- Lava hound tank
How to optimise this deck:
- Be wary of not spending too much elixir, Lava Hound and Balloon cost a lot!
- Minions are great at countering swarms and can support pushes. Mega Minion is great at striking down ground troops like Wizard or Musketeer and can defend against buildings like Cannon or X-Bow.
4. MINER MEGA
Chipping away to victory with a little bit of patience.
- Average elixir cost: 3.5
- Perfect for defending
- Very strong when locked on
How to optimise this deck:
- Use the Miner as the first move! Save the Mega Knight for defending and then bring the Witch with it as a counterattack.
- Zap is good against Inferno Towers or Inferno Dragons that may lock onto your Mega Knight.
- Goblins, Bats and Bomber are perfect for hoards or for smaller cards that may be used to distract Mega Knight from reaching a tower.
3. META MINI PEKKA
With an upgraded hit speed following the new changes, what better time for the Mini Pekka to shine!
- Average elixir cost: 3.4
- Like Graveyard Giant, except with a stronger defence
- Great synergy
How to optimise this deck:
- The Giant is the win condition so it is better if Giant is placed at the back and supported by other troops, only when he is near the towers should the rage spell be used.
- Lumberjack is a good alternative for a Rage spell if he sticks close to the Giant!
- Dark Prince can now jump over the bridge making him a good asset to place near the bridge.
2. COVER ALL BASES
It does what it says on the tin, an answer to almost every card, basic but useful.
- Average elixir cost: 4.0
- Has everything except a spell
- Everything can be replaced
How to optimise this deck:
- Firstly, Barbarian Barrel can be swapped with Log. Electric Wizard with Zap and Mega Knight with any fighting tank such as Dark Prince. Making this an easy deck to play around with and see what you like.
- Inferno Dragon can target opposing Pekkas or Mega Knights that may attack your Mega Knight – which should be used defensively or for counter pushes – and bats can support it and target other air cards.
- Be sure to use Goblin Barrel AFTER a log card has been used or wait until the opponent has spent elixir trying to tackle your other cards, that way the Goblins manage to get hits on the tower.
1. HIGH SKILL HIGH REWARD
Not for the faint hearted but with practice it is a deadly combination.
- Average elixir cost: 3.3
- Cycle, cycle, cycle!
- It has everything you need
How to utilise this deck:
- The main way to win is for the Miner and Balloon to be the main cards causing damage on the towers.
- If you are against heavy air decks save the Musketeer (and arrows if desperate) for them by cycling as there are no other air attacking cards.
- If you are against bait decks use your Valkyrie and Barbarian Barrel!
- If they get rid of your Balloon be sure to have the Miner nearby to maintain chipping away at the tower.
- When you are up against big tanks, use Skeleton to bait them into the middle of your two towers to ensure both princess towers are hitting it. Bomb Tower can do the same!
Most importantly, have fun! At the end of the day this is a game to be enjoyed and there are pros and cons to every deck you use.
