[Top 5] CS:GO Best Crosshair Colors Used By The Pros

So many colors to choose from...

Find some of the most common and uncommon crosshair colors pros use. From green to pink, we’ve got your back. As for the best color, it’s ultimately a matter of personal preference, but green is arguably the most popular among users and pros alike. Also, take into consideration your crosshair shape, settings, maps played on, preferred brightness level, color intensity, and so on.

If you plan to copy and paste the settings, you might have to make two trips as the developer's console can't always fit all of it at once.

Lastly, keep in mind that a player's crosshair and their respective colors change from time to time.

That said, here’s our top 5 list.

5. Twistzz (Pink; former color)

Appears as pink or white depending on the background. Neon pink may stand out more.

Two colors for the price of one. Pink, especially neon, (Twistzz seemed to use the latter, to be fair) not only stands out because of its brightness, but also because many players don’t use it. It’s especially useful for a smaller crosshair.

The fact that it “transforms” into white using a darker background (or close to; Dust 2 tunnels for example) is pretty cool too. Remember, if your screen tends to be dim or lackluster than usual, a white/pink/bright crosshair provides a sharp and effective contrast. Otherwise, feel free to use a darker color.

In some parts of the world, the color pink represents joy, love, and mildness. And as I’ve mentioned before, it's fairly uncommon compared to other colors, not only in the game but in other areas, such as clothing and furniture (depending also on gender to be fair). When’s the last time you saw a pink suit? Or a pink ring? Or perhaps a pink sofa? Nothing wrong with these, but rather, I’m pointing out that they tend to stand out more since they are seen less often in everyday objects, or at least objects you would not expect them to be in (e.g. pink cotton candy vs. pink apple).

Like with any color, not only should we take into account its appearance, but connotative association as well, depending on personal preferences, cultural and social influences, etc. Nevertheless, for personal use or something like a crosshair, feel free to pick any color you want.

So if you want something fairly uncommon and bright, try a pink crosshair. A neon pink color could work too, especially against darker backgrounds. Sometimes, it might even shift to white depending on the shade of pink and environment.

Lastly, I should also mention that his current crosshair is up to date, but white (up to this point). He did, however, use a neon pink crosshair in 2021 (same size, for the most part).

Twistzz’s Background

Twistzz is a Canadian CS:GO rifler for FaZe. He is well known for his excellent aim and headshot prowess. In fact, he currently ranks as 7th best for the highest headshot percentage, sitting at ~62%. In 2022, FaZe defeated G2 3:0 for 1st place in the Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Katowice ($400,000/$1,000,000).

4. HObbit (Yellow)

Arguably the brightest color in the visible light spectrum.

A fairly common and effective color to use. It’s arguably the brightest color because of our sensitivity to it; namely the red and green cones from our eyes. Plus, yellow is a fairly common color in objects, such as traffic lights, light bulbs, food, and so on.

In other words, it’s not as alarming or threatening compared to other colors such as black or red. All in all, though, I suggest you use whatever color you want here, regardless of the connotative association.

When you look at it in-game, it should be fairly visible as well. That is, if your screen isn’t too bright, depending on your display and in-game settings.

In most Western and Eastern Cultures, yellow has positive connotations such as warmth, optimism, and/or happiness. In some cultures, however, the color is associated with mourning and moreover, death.

Since this is just for a crosshair, we don’t have to think about “yellow” as dying (at least not from our own in-game deaths). Instead, think of it as a bright color that’s easy to spot/track so as long as your screen isn’t very bright.

HObbit’s Background

HObbit is one of the most consistent riflers in today’s game. With a KDR and OKR above 1, and a 1v1 clutch rate close to 63%, one could see why. So far in 2022, he’s had plenty of impact frags and kills with an IPR of 1.20 and .74 KPR (close to getting a kill 75% of the time, per round). As for his personality, HObbit seems to be a fairly calm and collected player.

In 2021, Gambit defeated NAVI 2:0 in the Blast Premier Spring Finals ($225,000/$425,000). As of now though, he plays for Cloud9.

3. b1t (Cyan)

A light, but bright crosshair that's fairly uncommon.

Cyan is a mixture of green and light blue. Many think of it as a lagoon or tropical beach. In various parts of the world, it symbolizes relaxation and calmness. Aside from that, most everyday objects are not cyan, making it stand out even more. For example, you’re more likely to see a brown or black couch in someone’s living room compared to a cyan couch. You might, however, see someone’s walls painted cyan over black or brown. Interestingly, if overused, it can create feelings of coldness rather than tranquility.

So if you want a bright and mellow color that’s fairly uncommon (or at least in this game), give cyan a shot.

b1t’s Background

b1t is a Ukrainian CS:GO rifler for NAVI. As a 19-year-old, he currently holds the highest headshot percentage overall, sitting at ~68.5%. This year, it’s at ~61%, but he still owns a modest 1.15 KDR so far. Out of 15 current 1v1 attempts, he’s also won 13 so far. Incredible! In 2021, he was ranked as the 9th best player according to HLTV. During the same year, NAVI defeated Gambit 2:1 in the Blast Premier World Final ($500,000/$1,000,000).

2. jks (White; former crosshair)

Highly visible against darker backgrounds or dim displays.

Highly recommended if your computer screen isn’t too bright or if you prefer a slightly dim display. After all, to see objects clearly in-game (and your opponents), you wouldn’t want your screen on either end of the spectrum. White becomes even more transparent on top of shadows, or inside underground passages, such as the tunnels on Dust 2 or Overpass. I’d also argue that it’s a fairly neutral color compared to red or orange, which may invoke more powerful emotions or simply stand out too much for some. You can also use a draw outline to increase its transparency.

In some cultures, white is seen as a blank slate, or as a way to clear your mind. Too much white, however, can cause anxiety for some, as there is no color or “life” to it. It can also invoke a sense of emptiness. Moreover, think of how you felt the last time you spilled wine or soda on your white collared shirt. Now, look at your white walls. You may start to worry about any little stain on your wall compared to using another color, for example.

In Western Cultures, white symbolizes purity, innocence, light, and goodness. In many Asian cultures, however, white symbolizes death, mourning, unhappiness, and misfortune.

For a crosshair, however, as I’ve mentioned before, feel free to use whatever color you want.

That said, if your screen is moderately bright or slightly dim (or if you can adjust it that way) and you want something clear/transparent with no fuss, or perhaps wish for a more “neutral color,” a white crosshair is a good way to go.

jks’s Background

jks is an Australian CS:GO rifler for Complexity (benched). He previously played for FaZe (subbing temporarily for ropz and rain; for health reasons) and Renegades. As a player, he’s offers sneakily good aim, with a ~53% hs overall and a good 1v1 clutch rate close to ~63%. This year, he helped propel FaZe’s victory over G2 in the Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Katowice Finals 3:0 ($400,000/$1,000,000).

1. Floppy (Green)

One of the most versatile crosshair colors.

A color that’s not too bright or dark. Like cyan, it’s pretty easy on the eyes as well. For this particular shade of green, it contrasts smoothly with the background thanks to its vibrant color. If you ask me it looks like neon green, which often stands out in dim areas or against dim objects.

Green can mean a variety of things in Western cultures such as good luck, progress, environmental awareness, and even jealousy (e.g. money or wealth). In some Eastern cultures, the color represents nature, fertility, youth, and even luck as well.

All in all, a green crosshair is a solid choice thanks to its vibrancy, regularity, and strong contrast against darker backgrounds in-game.

Floppy’s Background

Floppy is an American CS:GO rifler for Complexity. Prior to that, he played Valorant for Cloud9. This year, he owns a KDR of 1.1, an ADR of 82, and a 1v1 clutch rate close to 80% thus far (albeit only 15 opportunities). As for the team’s performance, Complexity won 40 points (or 3rd to 4th place) in the ESL Challenger 48, but were eliminated by VP ($10,000/$100,000).

Additional Crosshair Colors

Other crosshair colors not listed, but noteworthy include red, dark blue, orange, black and so on. All in all, these are some suggestions, but feel free to use whatever color you want!
