[Top 10] CSGO Best Crosshairs For Headshots (Used By The Best Players In The World)

CSGO Best Crosshairs For Headshots
It all starts with your crosshair.

Crosshairs play an integral role in CS:GO. The ideal crosshair varies depending on the size, thickness, shape, personal preferences, and so on. As a result, crosshairs often have certain features that can contribute to your headshot percentage. And what better way to find some of the best crosshairs than by looking at what the pro’s use? That said, today we’ll be discussing some of the best crosshairs for headshots.

10. b0RUP

Fairly large, but effective nevertheless.

Here we see a highly transparent yellow crosshair with some thickness to it. As a result, you can track enemies with greater ease as you move about. And if you condition yourself to consistently maintain your crosshair at head level, that can lead to some pretty good results. At close ranges, the crosshair often covers the center of the head; at mid ranges, the crosshair often covers the head completely, and at long ranges, the head is often covered completely as well, but it sometimes overlaps to the player model’s shoulders and/or chest. Overall then, a crosshair like b0RUP’s can help increase your headshot percentage over time thanks to its high visibility along with good movement.

About b0RUP

Johannes Borup is a Danish CS:GO player for Heroic. His primary roles include rifler and support. His overall headshot percentage sits roughly at 64%. In 2020, he and team Heroic won first place in the Dreamhack Open Fall ($33,000/$115,000).

 What’s good about b0RUP’s Crosshair

  • Very transparent thanks to its size
  • Very transparent thanks to its color
  • If you can grow accustomed to the crosshair’s placement at head level (despite some overlap), headshots will naturally accumulate

b0RUP’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshaircolor 2; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshairgap -3; cl_crosshairsize 3; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairalpha 250; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 1; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshaircolor_r 255; cl_crosshaircolor_g 0; cl_crosshaircolor_b 255;

 9. YEKINDAR

A light and effective crosshair.

On a fairly dim or a darker screen, YEKINDAR’s crosshair is fairly visible. Thanks to its small size, the crosshair aligns exceptionally well with your opponent’s head. And although there is a gap, it looks complete from afar. At close range distances, the crosshair often covers the center of the head; at mid-range distances, the crosshair covers most of, if not, immerses completely with the head, and at long range distances, the crosshair completely aligns with the head, sometimes extending beyond it or overlapping to the chest.

About YEKINDAR

Mareks Galinskis is a Latvian CS:GO player for Virtus.pro. His primary roles include rifler, entry-fragger, and AWPer. His overall headshot percentage sits at ~59%. In 2021, he and Virtus.pro won 2nd place in the Intel Extreme Masters Season XV ($180,000/$1,000,000).

What’s Good About YEKINDAR’s Crosshair

  • Transparent color (green)
  • Small; close to the actual size of the player model’s head at various distances
  • For some players, the crosshair is not too heavy on the eyes

YEKINDAR’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshairalpha 255; cl_crosshaircolor 1; cl_crosshaircolor_b 165; cl_crosshaircolor_g 255; cl_crosshaircolor_r 0; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshairgap -3; cl_crosshairsize 2; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairthickness 0;

8. Chopper

A light, but transparent crosshair with a slight gap in the middle.

Chopper’s crosshair features a bold teal color with a gap in the middle. It’s fairly small, and similar in size with respect to YEKINDAR’s crosshair. The gap in the middle seems to be slightly stretched out compared to the other crosshairs. Moreover, some players prefer a wide gap on their crosshair as it allows them to see through a small portion of the head; perhaps as a way to, zone in, visually, and even mentally speaking. At close ranges, the crosshair covers the center or most of the head well; at mid-ranges, the crosshair usually covers all of the head (with the gap in the middle), and at long ranges, the crosshair usually will not only immerse with the head, but extend outside of it as well.

About Chopper

Leonid Vishnyakov is a Russian CS:GO player for team Spirit. His primary roles include rifler, support, and leader. His overall headshot percentage is ~58%, at the moment. In 2021, he and team Spirit won the DH Masters Spring ($35,000/$70,000).

What’s Good About Chopper’s Crosshair

  • Bold teal makes the small crosshair more visible
  • Aligns almost perfectly with the opponent’s head from mid to long-range distances
  • Gap in the middle may encourage better precision over time

chopper’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshairalpha 255; cl_crosshaircolor 4; cl_crosshaircolor_b 0; cl_crosshaircolor_g 255; cl_crosshaircolor_r 0; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshairgap -2; cl_crosshairgap_useweaponvalue 0; cl_crosshairsize 2; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairthickness 1; cl_crosshairusealpha 1;

7. JaCkz

A fairly thick crosshair with a gap in the middle.

Here we have a fairly “midsized” crosshair with a wide gap. As aforementioned, a crosshair with a gap may allow players to, “zone in” on their target. At close ranges, the crosshair often covers a big portion or most of the head; at mid-ranges, the crosshair usually covers all of the head and often extends outside of it (slightly), and at long ranges, the crosshair usually covers all of the head and extends outside of it. The wide gap in the middle seems to be most noticeable from mid-long ranges.

About JaCkz

Audric Jug is a French CS:GO player for G2 Esports. His primary role in-game is rifler. His overall headshot percentage is currently ~57%. In 2021, he and G2 ranked as the top 2 teams (based on total points) in Blast Premier Spring Showdown ($30,000/$162,500).

What’s Good About JaCkz’s Crosshair

  • Transparent thanks to the size, thickness, and color
  • The wide gap in the middle allows the player to, “see through the head”
  • Easy to track (as you move about)

JaCkz’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshairsize 3; cl_crosshairgap -1; cl_crosshairthickness 1; cl_crosshaircolor 2; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 1; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshaircolor_r 255; cl_crosshaircolor_g 255; cl_crosshaircolor_b 255;

6. Chelo

A thin, but large crosshair.

Although the crosshair is fairly large, its overall appearance is slimmed down. Often players want their crosshair to stand out in some way via color, size, or thickness but, may prefer to have only one or two of these qualities. The reason being is that so the crosshair is not as distracting. Here, for example, we see a bigger crosshair with a transparent green color, but it lacks thickness. At close ranges, the crosshair usually aligns with the center of the head; at mid-ranges, the crosshair usually aligns completely with the head, and at long ranges, the crosshair usually overlaps to the neck, chest, and moreover, extends outside of the head. Overall, it’s similar to JaCkz or b0RUP’s crosshair but not as thick; and it’s still effective for headshots thanks to its size mostly.

About Chelo

Marcelo Cespedes is a Brazilian CS:GO player for MIBR. His primary roles include rifler and entry fragger. His overall headshot percentage sits at ~62%. In 2017, he and Luminosity Gaming (former team) won first place in the World Cyber Arena NA (~$11,300/~$19,500).

What’s good about Chelo’s Crosshair

  • Thin, but fairly large
  • Transparent green color
  • Easy to track

Chelo’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshair_sniper_width "1.6"; cl_crosshairalpha "255"; cl_crosshaircolor "1"; cl_crosshaircolor_b "255"; cl_crosshaircolor_g "255"; cl_crosshaircolor_r "200"; cl_crosshairdot "0"; cl_crosshairgap "-3"; cl_crosshairscale "3"; cl_crosshairsize "3"; cl_crosshairstyle "4"; cl_crosshairthickness "0"; cl_crosshairusealpha "1";

5. STYKO

Sort of looks like a ninja star you’d throw at an enemy.

Unlike most crosshairs, the ends are thicker here and separated from the middle. The dot is fairly noticeable as well. This allows the user to sort of, “zone in” towards the center of the crosshair and go for the headshot. The color seems to be white; ideal for dimmer screens. At close ranges, the crosshair aligns with the center or large portion of the head; at mid-ranges, the crosshair covers most of the head, and at long ranges, the crosshair looks as if 4 arrows were pointing towards the head with a dot in the middle.

About STYKO

Martin Styk is a Slovak CS:GO player for FunPlus Phoenix. His primary roles include rifler and support. His overall headshot percentage is around 57%. In 2021, FunPlus Phoenix won first place in the Snow Sweet Snow Tournament ($40,000/$100,000).

What’s good about S

  • Unique t-shape
  • White is often a transparent shade/color for darker screens
  • From afar, the crosshair seems to be pointing towards the head

STYKO’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_fixedcrosshairgap -14; cl_crosshaircolor 4; cl_crosshairstyle 1; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; hud_showtargetid 1;

4. Magixx

Small and efficient.

Magixx’s crosshair is a bit smaller than YEKINDAR’s, but is still fairly visible thanks to its color. Smaller crosshairs often require pinpoint accuracy in exchange for some visibility. So instead of simply shooting your opponent’s head, you may have to focus on the center of it (less chance for overlap, and perhaps, less of a distraction). This often takes longer to adjust to, but it may also increase your precision over time. Plus, smaller crosshairs at long ranges align very well, if not perfectly with the head. Anyhow, at close ranges, the crosshair often covers a small portion of the head; at mid-ranges, the crosshair often covers the center of the head, and at long ranges, the crosshair covers all, if not most of the head, without any overlap whatsoever.

About Magixx

Boris Vorobiev is a Russian CS:GO Player for Spirit. He primarily serves as a rifler. His overall headshot percentage is roughly 57% at the moment. In the 2021 IEM Katowice, Team Spirit won 3rd/4th place (based on a points system; $80,000/$400,000).

What’s Good About Magixx’s Crosshair

  • Small; requires pinpoint accuracy
  • Transparent green color
  • From long-range distances, the crosshair aligns very well with the player model’s head

Magixx’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshairalpha 255; cl_crosshaircolor 5; cl_crosshaircolor_b 165; cl_crosshaircolor_g 255; cl_crosshaircolor_r 0; cl_crosshairdot 1; cl_crosshairgap -3; cl_crosshairsize 1; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairthickness 0;

3. TiziaN

The gap in the middle allows you to locate your opponent’s head with greater ease.

One of the largest crosshairs I’ve presented far. This time, it’s a bit thinner and spacious. Sometimes, by using a bigger crosshair you’ll be able to shoot targets with greater ease, but it may also overlap to the body, causing some distractions. Hence, the emphasis here might be on overall damage (body and head mostly) rather than just the head (or headshots). However, because the gap is so big, I’d argue that it gives ample space to spot a player’s head, and thus, is effective (in its own way) for getting headshots. At short ranges, the crosshair usually covers most of the head; at mid-ranges, the crosshair often covers all of the head (from the 4 ends that is) and may extend beyond, and at long ranges, the crosshair extends well beyond the head, but as aforementioned, the gap allows you to spot it more clearly.

About TiziaN

Tizian Feldbusch is a German CS:GO player for Big. His primary roles include rifler and support. His overall headshot percentage is about ~56%. In 2021, BIG ranked first (among 3 teams based on a points system) from the BLAST Premier: Spring Groups ($25,000/$150,000).

What’s Good About TiziaN’s Crosshair

  • Transparent thanks to its size and color
  • Big gap in the middle allows you to spot your opponent’s head more clearly
  • Fairly easy to track

TiziaN’s Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshairalpha 200;cl_crosshaircolor 1; cl_crosshaircolor_b 50; cl_crosshaircolor_r 250; cl_crosshaircolor_g 250; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshair_t 0; cl_crosshairgap 0; cl_crosshairsize 5; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 0.5; cl_fixedcrosshairgap 0; cl_crosshair_outlinethickness 0; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0;

2. ScreaM

The headshot machine.

While most crosshairs are t-shaped, few take the form of a small dot. Some players prefer this because it closely mimics the shape of the player’s model head; that is, it offers a high degree of parallelism and gets rid of any excess shapes or lines, so to speak. Scream’s crosshair may seem a bit small (you can also increase its size/thickness via console), but the point I’m trying to make is that dot crosshairs are highly effective for headshots as well. At close ranges, this dot covers a very small portion of the head; at mid ranges, the crosshair often covers a slightly bigger portion of the head, and at long ranges, the crosshair covers a large portion, if not all of the head. If you feel like you can adapt to this crosshair’s size over time or something similar, and work on your movement at head level, then you may eventually develop laser-like aim.

About ScreaM

Adil Benrlitom was a professional CS:GO player for various teams, including G2 Esports and Team Envy. His primary roles included rifler and entry fragger. Currently, he sits atop for the highest headshot percentage at ~68% (according to HLTV). In 2017, he and Team Envyus won first place in the DreamHack Open Atlanta ($50,000/$100,000).

What’s Good About ScreaM’s Crosshair

  • Similar shape as the player model’s head
  • Instead of a, “t” on top of a circle, you have a circle on top of a circle; offering some parallelism
  • Especially good at long range, and sometimes mid-range

ScreaM’s Crosshair  Settings

  • cl_crosshairalpha 255; cl_crosshaircolor 4; cl_crosshairdot 1; cl_crosshairgap -999; cl_crosshairsize 3; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairusealpha 1; cl_crosshairthickness 0.5; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 1; cl_crosshair_outlinethickness 1; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshairgap_useweaponvalue 0; cl_crosshaircolor_b 250; cl_crosshaircolor_r 250; cl_crosshaircolor_g 250;

1. Twistzz

A small crosshair with a unique bold color.

Twistzz’s crosshair offers a small pinpoint t-shape with a vibrant neon pink color. When you want a small crosshair, but need some transparency, adding a lively color along with some thickness may compensate. At close ranges, the crosshair immerses with a very small portion of the head; at mid-ranges, the crosshair immerses with most, if not all of the head, and at long ranges, the crosshair often aligns with the head perfectly. Hence, this type of crosshair is good for headshots at mid and long-range distances, proving to be very practical.

About Twistzz

Russel Van Dulken is a Canadian CS:GO player for FaZe. He serves primarily as a rifler. His overall headshot percentage is ~62%, at the moment. In 2019, he was ranked 9th best player by HLTV. He was also the MVP of the IEM Sydney in 2019 ($100,000/$250,000).

What’s Good About Twistzz Crosshair

  • Small, so it aligns well with your enemy’s head across various distances
  • Fairly thick for a small crosshair
  • Bold color (thanks to the thickness as well)

Twistzz Crosshair Settings

  • cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshairalpha 255; cl_crosshaircolor 5; cl_crosshaircolor_b 255; cl_crosshaircolor_g 0; cl_crosshaircolor_r 255; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshairgap -4.4; cl_crosshairgap_useweaponvalue 0; cl_crosshairsize 1.100000; cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshairthickness 0.8;
