The skills to win. The preparation to win. The will to win. Although most of us may never go pro, we can certainly train like them. From recoil maps to aim and movement guides, there are a ton of free resources out there to hone your skills. Play with friends, against bots, or versus real opponents. Regardless of your skill level, anyone can use these maps, and more importantly, get better over time.
10. Recoil Master by Mr. uLLetical/SOAPHY
No recoil or spray pattern is the same.
This map is the perfect way to isolate and learn spray patterns. You can try to learn it all at once, or break it down into groups, such as transitioning from the 3rd to 6th bullet. Ideally, we all want one taps or burst headshots, but learning and adapting to spray patterns is much more practical. In addition, this map offers a “ghost” dot that guides your spray. Remember, learning a ~30 clip spray takes time for everyone, including pros (at one point), so if you need to take it step by step, by all means, do so.
Why Recoil Master is Great For Training
- Learn spray patterns more efficiently by breaking them down
- Additional crosshair to help you
- Spray pattern available for most weapons

9. Bot_Training by ZIM
A simple map that forces you to defend yourself.
Bot_training essentially uses ambush tactics in a very small and secluded area. Shooting then requires consistency based on the incoming pressure from bots. Simply choose the weapon of your choice, select the number of bots, and you’re all set. Decor such as the tall thin trees, wooden benches, and mountain background are added to give the map some life. You may also consider timing yourself as a challenge or threshold; designed mostly for shooting enemies in one direction.
Why BT is Great For Training
- Small map
- Designed for shooting enemies who ambush you or come at you in one direction
- Easy to setup

8. Aim Lab by Statespace
Just Shoot the Dots. Simple, right?
Unlike most CS:GO workshop maps, Aim Lab focuses on shooting dots with just the click of a button. These are no ordinary dots, however, as often times they’ll be constantly moving and reappearing anywhere in the background. No spray is necessary, and you’re free to choose from a variety of weapons. At the end of the round, you’re given a score based on kill total, targets, kill time, kills per sec, and accuracy. You can also change various settings or gameplay that involves decision-making, strafing, moving targets, and so on; skills that affect your cognition, tracking, perception, flicking, speed, and precision.
Why Aim Lab is Great For Training
- Reaction, accuracy, crosshair placement, and other areas can improve over time
- Customized training allows you to analyze your strengths and weaknesses
- Currently free to play on Steam

Use the boxes for cover.
1v1’s are not only a great way to play against friends, but improve your aim in a realistic setting. Here, you’ll practice counter-strafing, movement, mid-long distance shooting, and spray control. Use the obstacles to your advantage or catch your enemy by surprise with an off-angle. Of course, this is not the only 1v1 map I recommend, but rather, one of many. Unlike many offline workshop maps, most 1v1 maps are played against real opponents.
Why Aim_Map is Great for Training
- Put yourself in a realistic 1v1 scenario/encounter
- Mid-long range encounters and counter-strafing practice
- Real opponents

6. Fast Aim Reflex Training by Yolokas
Bots will come at you from all directions.
Fast Aim is a great map because you’re forced to shoot from all angles, not just what’s in front of you. Feel free to roam about this mid-sized map or stay locked in the center, where bots constantly respawn just about everywhere. Be careful though, because bots can still damage you via knife. As a result, Fast Aim helps with accuracy and reflexes against moving targets in a slightly tense, but safe environment. Now, if only I could shoot as well as Scream on this map.
Why the Fast Aim Map is Great for Training
- Constantly moving and shooting; helps with aim, movement and strafing as well
- Bots are constantly moving and respawning throughout the map; helps with aim and movement
- Bots can damage you, pressuring you to be more accurate (at times)

5. Blast Performance by Blast
See how fast you can finish the map.
BP is another training map that tests your reflexes, accuracy, movement, and hearing. For example, some enemies are long-distance and therefore require burst shots with the AK-47, while other enemies are close-ranged and require a one tap with the Glock. Afterward, you’ll see a large circle that tests your spray accuracy within the parameter. Near the end of the map, you’ll have to shoot enemies through smoke using audio cues, as well as jump on obstacles to reach your destination. As a result, consistent practice with the map may help improve reflexes, accuracy, and movement.
Why BP is Great For Training
- Timed course
- “All in one course”- areas specifically designed for shooting, spraying, and movement
- Map is relatively short and can be repeated easily

4. training_aim_csgo2 by pizza and .kataS
Similar to Aim Labs, but distances vary.
Like Aim Labs, your job is to shoot various dots as they appear throughout the map. There are 5 training modes: 1) Classic requires you to shoot dots with little to no movement, 2) Angles and Sliding requires some movement as you shoot dots from the center and away, 3) Reflex training essentially measures your reaction time as the dot changes color, 4) Burst training measures how well your spray is within the dot’s parameters, and 5) is a much faster version of Classic. If you want to improve your aim in addition to deathmatch and possibly through Aim Labs, I’d recommend this map since it incorporates distance and shooting basics for most first-person shooters.
Why TMC2 is Great For Training
- Various modes may help with reflex training, reaction time, spray accuracy, etc.
- Similar to Aim Labs
- 4 different distances to train from

3. Beway Fall Games by Mr. uLLetical
Surfing and then some.
There are 4 modes in this map: 1) Jumping, 2) Nades, 3) Drones (AWP), and 4) Surfing. The jump mode simply measures how far you can jump (vertically) from point A to B, whereas the nade mode uses basketball hoops and goal posts to test accuracy. The third mode requires you to shoot moving drones of varying sizes with an AWP. Lastly, Surf mode is a timed course, as you navigate through obstacles and paths. These modes are useful because they can measure (to an extent) how well you jump, throw nades, shoot, and move in a single course.
Why BFG is Great For Training
- A quick, but efficient map to measure common and useful skills in CS:GO such as jumping and utility
- Surfing may help with a player’s movement through repetition and consistency (while running)
- Practice your timing with the AWP

2. Yprac Map Guides by Yesber
Learn more about utility usage and common angles for most competitive maps.
Yprac maps offer a comprehensive guide to movement, prefiring, peeking, utility, and holding sites. How so? Well, through 6 individual modes (3 for utility): defense, peek, and prefire practice. The defensive mode forces you to hold a site as you battle bots in close encounters. Peek and prefire modes give you common angles throughout the map. By getting used to a map’s layout and always checking angles (when possible) via practice, you’ll gain a huge advantage over your opponent, as it gradually increases your awareness and helps with your movement (at head level).
Why Yprac Maps are Great For Training
- Spot and prefire/fire at common or uncommon angles more accurately
- Practice from competitive maps
- Good movement training, as you’ll constantly move around bomb sites

1. Aim Botz by Mr. uLLetical
Botz Paradise.
These bots can stand, walk, run, stare, and so on. Thanks to the grand size of the arena, you’re free to run around or stay still, or if you feel the arena is too big, you can close it off using the buttons on the top. If that’s not enough, you can add obstacles such as boxes and walls. Personally, I like the fact that you can add up to 30 bots or so, unlike most workshop maps.
Why Aim Botz is Great For Training
- Constantly shooting; improving accuracy over time
- Bots are versatile
- Change the size of the map; training your accuracy over a range of distances
