Starting in on Season of the Worthy, make sure you're bringing the best Fusion Rifles you can to the battlefield.
Fusion rifles are a unique weapon to the Destiny franchise, offering the punch of a shotgun blast in a longer-ranged form. While previously these weapons had been limited by balance choices outside of a few unique options, with the latest patches fusion rifles are a valid choice for most activities. Here’s a list of the top seven fusion rifles you should be using in Season of Dawn.
7: One Thousand Voices (Exotic Fusion Rifle)
See One Thousand Voices in Action: www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7_1kCyayz8
The raid exotic from the amazing Last Wish raid, this weapon should give you a reason to kill Riven and start the curse in the Dreaming City if you haven’t already done so.
Why One Thousand Voices is good:
- Though you might get unlucky and not receive it for quite a few runs, the fact that 1k Voices is a raid exotic means there’s no need to farm for the perfect roll.
- The weapon fires a concentrated beam of energy that sticks to whatever it hits, then explodes after a few seconds, dealing massive damage to PVE enemies and killing guardians in PVP with only a touch of the beam.
- An exotic catalyst is available which increases its abilities even further
Stats:
- Impact: 100
- Range: 100
- Stability: 46
- Handling: 10
- Reload Speed: 37
- Charge Time: 1000
- Magazine: 4
How to get One Thousand Voices:
- Play through the Last Wish raid for the first time each week on a character, and after defeating Riven and destroying her heart at the climax, open a chest for a chance to receive it.

6. Merciless (Exotic Fusion Rifle)
See Merciless in Action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ6xMyMXwPg
Though nerfed like many other weapons with the changes in Shadowkeep to auto-reload abilities, Merciless is still useful for its ability to rapidly empty its entire mag into a boss.
Why Merciless is good:
- Merciless’ exotic ability lets it rapidly charge upon doing damage to an enemy but not killing it, meaning every shot you put into a boss increases the rate of fire of your weapon until you need to reload.
- An exotic catalyst is available which increases its abilities even further.
- Stats:
- Impact: 75
- Range: 45
- Stability: 39
- Handling: 47
- Reload Speed: 49
- Charge Time: 900
- Magazine: 8
How to get Merciless:
- Either hope Xur is selling it on any given week or get it from a random exotic world drop.

5. Jotunn (Exotic Fusion Rifle)
See Jotunn in Action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPmeLTW2E-0
Introduced with the Black Armory, Jotunn is likely the most powerful toaster in all of gaming, launching a heat-seeking projectile that will easily blow away powerful PVE enemies as well as guardians in a single shot.
Why Jotunn is good:
- Jotunn will give you close to the longest range available from a fusion rifle outside of 1k voices, its tracking projectiles tracking down Gambit Invaders or pesky snipers with ease.
- Its place as a special weapon as opposed to normal rocket launchers with tracking gives you much more ammo availability in PVP and PVE.
Stats:
- Impact: 100
- Range: 52
- Stability: 31
- Handling: 42
- Reload Speed: 31
- Charge Time: 860
- Magazine: 5
How to get it:

4. Tempered Dynamo (Precision Frame Fusion Rifle)
See Tempered Dynamo in Action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0cN9fmfuJw
A weapon available from the Scourge of the Past raid, Tempered Dynamo is another option for those who want a viable fusion rifle for PVE.
Why Tempered Dynamo is good:
- The curated roll for this weapon is exceptionally good with perks that synergize for great killing power.
- Backup plan means that as soon as you need to whip out Tempered Dynamo, it’ll be ready to charge, it’s delay reduced significantly, and rampage means after your first shot kills an enemy your second will do even more damage, and finally, particle repeater means that as you keep firing your recoil will be reduced.
Stats:
- Impact: 80
- Range: 57
- Stability: 52
- Handling: 35
- Reload Speed: 32

3. Telesto (Exotic Fusion Rifle)
See Telesto in Action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dQ1cLWpwoo
While possibly more famous for breaking the game nearly every time it’s updated, Telesto is also an exceptionally useful weapon in PVP, giving great utility with its deployable shots.
Why Telesto is good:
- While its projectiles now are affected by damage drop off, Telesto will still give you a powerful weapon that both has the damage of a fusion rifle up close and the utility of a mine when shot at the ground, turning the tide of your fights if placed correctly.
Stats:
- Impact: 85
- Range: 42
- Stability: 81
- Handling: 66
- Reload Speed: 82
- Charge Time: 780

How to get Telesto:
- Either hope Xur is selling it on any given week or get it from a random exotic world drop.

2. Loaded Question (High Impact Fusion Rifle)
See Loaded Question in Action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV1sh-J6Gk8
By far the best PVE fusion rifle in the game, Loaded Question doesn’t even take up an exotic slot, though despite its power is largely ignored.
Why Loaded Question is good:
- The unique pinnacle perk of the Loaded Question gives you something seen nowhere else in Destiny 2: a fusion rifle with firefly. Killing enemies with this fusion rifle causes them to explode and chain into other enemies.
- Additionally, your weapon has quickdraw and autoloading holster, meaning you can pull it out at a moment's notice and activate the perk on your first kill.
- Despite its power, it only takes up a legendary weapon slot, leaving your exotic slot open for anything else.
Stats:
- Impact: 95
- Range: 57
- Stability: 33
- Handling: 33
- Reload Speed: 27
- Charge Time: 860
- Magazine: 5
How to get Loaded Question:
- Pick up the titular quest “Loaded Question” from Zavala
- Get 500 fusion rifle kills in any strike or Nightfall, 1000 Arc kills in any strike or Nightfall, and 40 strike or Nightfall completions
- Return to Zavala and pick up your reward.

1. Erentil FR4 (High Impact Fusion Rifle)
See Erentil FR4 in Action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=539XTHi69Pg
Erentil FR4 is one of the most infamous weapons in PVP at any given time. Despite few seeming to use it due to the flashier nature of other meta weapons, Erentil is a great choice that packs a punch nothing can outclass.
Why Erentil is good:
- The correct combination of perks on Erentil FR4 makes it an extremely long-range one-hit-kill body shot weapon, great for shutting down shotguns before they can close the distance without needing an amazing aim.
- Due to the introduction of the Menagerie last year, you can now easily farm for the perfect Erentil roll without having to hoard gunsmith tokens.
Stats:
- Impact: 95
- Range: 59
- Stability: 30
- Handling: 26
- Reload Speed: 28
- Charge Time: 860
- Magazine: 5
How to get Erentil FR4:
- In your fully upgraded Menagerie Chalice, put a Rune of Excess in the top slot, any blue rune in the left slot, and any green rune in the right slot.
