“Wonderkid” is a word that’s thrown around a lot in the football world, and sometimes it can feel overused and unjustified. However, today we have compiled the best of the best teenage prodigies in world football you MUST sign on Career Mode, who are also amazing, enjoyable players of FC24 career mode, and some tips and tricks to develop and maximise their full potential.

15. Guillaume Restes - 87 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KQt5L0Hzs8

First in our wonderkid list, and the one and only goalkeeper, is Toulouse’s Guillaume Restes. He’s 6’2 with 76 reflexes and 3* weak foot, only at 71 overall. The 18-year-old has a high ceiling with 87 base potential that can hike even further with EAFC’s dynamic growth. At his age, and goalkeepers’ tendency to decline slower than outfield players, if you sign him, you’ll have a top-quality goalkeeper all the way to the end of your save. Not bad for only £4 million.

14. Arthur Vermeeren - 87 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YOwoaZ9DMQ

Up next is Royal Antwerp’s midfield maestro. Vermeeren starts the game at a lovely 75 overall, with pleasant stats for a defensive midfielder at 18 years of age. 75 passing, 75 dribbling, 4* weak foot, 88 stamina and high/high work rates, he’s super technically gifted, while also being able to run the engine in midfield at the same time. A great pick-up for a team that needs to bolster up both star power and horsepower in the middle of the park.

13. Alejandro Garnacho - 87 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dRWu4f1RCc

At lucky number 13 is a familiar face for Premier League fans, as we have United winger, Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine is a rapid, smooth winger, and is extremely fun to play with on FC24. With his 84 pace, 87 agility, and 88 balance, alongside his 77 shot power and 4* weak foot, all at 74 overall, he’s quick, tricky, and unpredictable. To get the full potential out of him, you should look to upgrade his skill moves in development plans, to give an extra edge in 1v1 situations, making him a complete modern-day winger.

12. Paris Brunner - 87 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKVokLX1Rds

Next up is Dortmund’s up-and-coming talent Paris Brunner. The German has a base potential of 87, and the sky's the limit for him. His base stats might not look the best, but he only starts off the game at 65-rated, so he will be cheap and easy to snap up for one of the top teenage strikers in world football. Not to mention his base finishing is 72, no chance for the lower-league goalkeepers. One gargantuan positive is he starts with 4* weak foot without any training, so you have full control over his first development plan to fit your playstyle. One thing that can be upgraded is his medium attacking work rate. In spite of that, if you’re a player who knows how to use the L1/LB trigger, this is a relatively minor issue. Anyway you upgrade him, you’ll have a top top striker on your hands for a very long time.

11. Julian Duranville - 87 Potential.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzHg-IuenQE

From one Schwarzgelber to another, Duranville is a rapid and smooth winger who can play on both sides. He has 84 pace, 90 agility and 87 balance, and although his technical stats don't look the best, the 17-year-old starts at only 66 overall, and will be cheap to buy for lower-tier teams. He has 4* skills, which is very helpful, alongside his outside foot shot trait that will help out his 3* weak foot at the start, although it would be optimal to develop it to increase his unpredictability.

10. Antonio Nusa - 87 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggVNFHQ9wAw

First in the top 10 in Norwegian star Nusa, a pacey 18-year-old winger who can run riot on both sides. He begins the game at 71 rating, but with a rapid 86 pace, 90 agility, 86 balance, and 80 dribbling, perfect for FC24 players with his pace and how easy he will be to play with. One special thing about him is he already comes with 4*4*, which is very useful and quite rare in younger players, you will be able to get one of the most meta players in the game if you decide to snap him up. Certainly one of the best, and my personal favourite.

9. Youssoufa Moukoko - 87 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH7trzgmo0Y

At number 9 is probably one of the most familiar names among career mode players, Moukoko has turned 18 and starts the game at a saucy 77 overall. His base stats are also brilliant, with 80 pace, 79 finishing, 80 dribbling with 85 agility, and 4*4*, he is your man if you have the money to afford him. He also has a unique body type, which elevates his op-ness even further with his animations. 87 base potential + dynamic growth, Moukoko’s stellar reputation speaks for itself, and you know if you sign him, you’ve got a beast on your hands.

8. Antonio Silva - 88 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvkrsRRJ0vc

Benfica’s finest Antonio Silva is one of the most sought-after defenders in world football. Known as a club that produces many young talents, his potential is sky high. He has 88 potential from the 78 starting overall, and his stats are phenomenal. 77 pace, 80 defending, 82 strength 79 reactions and 77 composure. One disadvantage is his 2* weak foot, which will make it difficult to play out of the back from the start. Make sure to use the “Ball playing defender” development plan to upgrade his weaker foot, and you’ll have a superb defender in your hands.

7. Jorrel Hato - 88 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zMMpcp78_E&pp=ygULam9ycmVsIGhhdG8%3D

Up next is Dutch wonderkid Jorrel Hato, a rapid centre-back from Ajax. He starts the game at 73 overall and already has 85 pace, 71 dribbling and 86 jumping. The latter compensates for the fact that he’s only 5’11 tall, but we’ve seen evidence that it isn’t necessarily a problem, just look at Jules Kounde. He has a medium defensive work rate, so I recommend using one of the development plans that makes him high/medium. That way, he won’t be left out of position and will be more alert in defensive transitions.

6. Fabio Miretti - 88 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkDmyWjCC6g&pp=ygUHbWlyZXR0aQ%3D%3D

Juve’s Miretti is Italy’s new prodigy midfielder and he’s one of the best central midfielder wonderkids in the game. He starts with 4* weak foot, 78 dribbling, 77 pace, 75 passing, and 79 stamina are very good starting stats for a 75-rated player. He can also play CDM, and can easily be trained to a CDM. With Miretti, you have full freedom over what style of midfielder you need in your team, and he’ll seamlessly fill that gap for years to come.

5. Arda Guler - 88 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZrYitasApM&pp=ygUEYXJkYQ%3D%3D

Real Madrid’s new signing starts off our top 5. The 18-year-old has a base overall of 77, and his stats are absolutely brilliant. 81 dribbling and 80 passing already, combined with his lean body type will make him silky smooth on the ball. He comes with 4* skill moves and the swerve pass trait to add even more sauce to his game. His first development plan should be to increase his weak foot ability, and he will be dominating the midfield sooner rather than later.

4. Mathys Tel - 88 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLowpAEo3gA

In 4th is Bayern’s young star Mathys Tel. He has phenomenal stats for his starting overall of 73, with 77 pace, 76 shooting and 73 dribbling. Combined with his 4*4* and 82 shot power, you have the striker who can do it all with a rocket in his boost, all at just 18 years old. It’s very hard to nitpick any of his weaknesses other than stamina, which will keep increasing over time. So, if you decide to buy him, all I can say is, reap your rewards, you have the best young striker in FC24.

3. Alejandro Balde - 89 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xV36odO1h8&pp=ygUFYmFsZGU%3D

In 3rd is La Masia graduate and Barcelona left-back Alex Balde, who is the best wonderkid defender in the game. He comes in at a very hefty price, but with that comes a high rating as an established player. With his 81 overall comes his 91 pace, 78 dribbling and 75 defending. He also has 4* weak foot and can play on both sides, alongside 3* skills so he doesn’t feel clunky with basic attacking movements. You have many options with development plans for Balde, depending on your play style. I would personally recommend “wide back”, as it makes him high/high and bomb up and down the flank.

2. Gavi - 90 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laMFstuUpFk

Former Golden Boy Gavi falls just short of top spot in FC24. He’s the highest rated teenager and rightly so, given his pedigree at Barca, with his base potential also being in the 90s. He has 85 dribbling, 84 stamina, 85 aggression and nice passing stats, which covers the basis of his position. I would always recommend picking your own development plan for midfielders as we all have different play styles, and this is the case once again. Whatever you choose, you know you have a top midfielder on your hands.

1. Warren Zaire-Emery - 90 Potential

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRC-HYNMNCo&pp=ygUSd2FycmVuIHphaXJlIGVtZXJ5

In first place is PSG’s new starboy WZE. The Frenchman has 90 base potential and starts at 78 overall with good all-round stats, picks of the bunch being 81 stamina and 84 balance. He’s a very versatile midfielder who can become an absolute monster if you play your cards right because of dynamic potential, he can become a beast in every aspect of the game, and dominate the midfield at the highest stages.
