Which is the best team in Fifa 19?

To choose the right formation is almost like finding the right recipe from the ingredients you have: you need balance. Misplace or use the wrong player is like doing a mistake with ingredients or proportions: you cannot salt your chocolate muffin. You have to be accurate and think about your style of playing.   

Here’s my list of the 10 best teams in Fifa 19, and the most problematic to play against. I’ll add a helpful amount of information about each team’s squad that may help your choice before the next friendly match, and lead you to victory.

10. Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham has a great attack, and a pair of wonderful midfielders

Tottenham was along with Ajax the real outsider team during the last Champions League. They eliminated the most quoted rivals of Manchester City and the magnific Ajax in two epic matches that will survive in the memory of many football passionates for a long time. In Fifa 19 Tottenham has to be considered one of the top clubs in the game.

Why Tottenham is a great team:

• Kane is a top striker: finishing skill of 94, he’s as cynical as merciless. No way to stop his shoots for any goalkeeper. Paired with him, there’s Son, the best Asian player of the game: 5/5 on the weak foot, extremely dangerous from distance (90 long shots), chilled when he has to finish, quick and able to dribbling. 
• Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers you can find. And they’re really tough in defence: Alderweireld and Vertonghen are really efficient stoppers. 
• Skilled midfield, with Eriksen and Dele Alli as crown jewels: the first magical with his right foot, master of passing and free kicks; the second really good in penetration and positioning, headers and finishing.

9. Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid is a harsh team, really difficult to affront

Atletico Madrid is the kind of team that doesn’t play for mere entertainment. The final result is the only goal, and nothing else matters. Atletico Madrid (along with his coach, Simeone) is well known and feared for his cynical approach, his ability to convert the game into a physical fight (in which they are predominant) and in using “catenaccio” – or rather playing a highly defensive game. 

But the heart of these players is unquestionable, as the ability of Simeone to turn them into lions, able to compete for first positions in La Liga with the two extraterrestrial squads of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

What makes Atletico Madrid great:

• For the incredible harshness of his defenders. Godin and Gimenez are super aggressive (89 each) and really skilled in marking (90 – 89), while Arias and Filipe Luiz are really good tacklers. Be sure of you play against them you have no player that gets easily injured.
• Even if you find a hole, you have to beat the best goalkeeper in Fifa 19: 
• The counter-attack: Diego Costa and Morata are really effective strikers able to get the team up, and Griezmann combined with the talented midfielders Atletico has (Saul especially) creates a frightening weapon.

 

8. Chelsea

Chelsea in 2018-19 season with Hazard and Higuain as strikers has a wonderful team

Chelsea has a balanced team, with good players in each part of the field: cruel and big defenders, excellent midfielders and really quick and technical offensive players, with the help of a technical player as Higuain (or Giroud) acting as a strong advanced striker in the middle of the attack. No doubt you’ll enjoy your time if you choose Chelsea as your team.

What makes Chelsea great:

• Eden Hazard is one of the best players in Fifa 19: when is free to move on the flank he can be a real nightmare. Incredible dribbling (95 dribblings, 94 ball control), able with both feet, Hazard is also extremely efficient due to his 91 in composure. Add 95 in agility, 94 in balance and 94 in acceleration and you’ll have a real complete attacking monster.
• Higuain is one of the most cynical strikers in Fifa 19: 90 skill points in attack position and finishing, while Pedro is clever as a fox: the 3 of them form a devastating attack if properly used 
• Kanté is considered worldwide the best defensive midfielder since the miraculous season with Leicester. No wonder why: these are an alien’s statistics. 97 in stamina, 93 reactions and 92 in interceptions, 90 in marking and stand tackle.. these are only a bunch of his outstanding skills 

 

7. Liverpool

Liverpool starting team was almost untouchable the last year

Liverpool’s players during these years showed an incredible solidity. His teamwork has been outstanding, and his efficacy outrageous, able to change the Hispanic physiognomy of modern football, and achieve incredible records, while shocking the entire world. Liverpool is probably the best team in Fifa 19 when it comes to counter-attack using the depth.

What makes Liverpool great:

• One of the best attack in the game, second maybe only to PSG or Juventus: Firmino Salah and Mané fit together perfectly, forming a constant threat from all the perspectives: the 3 are able in counter-attacking, able in dribbling, skilled in passing, with really good stamina and high mental skills.
• Big and skilled defensive players: Allison is a gate, while Van Djik, perhaps the best defender of the game, dominates as a mountain among the hills in the backsides and is a real threat offensively in corners.
• Good midfield, with jolly players as Wijnaldum and Shaquiri, and tireless fighters as Fabinho and Milner

6. Bayern München

Bayern is always a certainty: there's no player that isn't good

Bayern Munchen is a mangy team to affront. They have technical players everywhere, and that allows the entire team to play simple yet elegant football. As many top teams they use the 4 - 3 - 3 formation, attacking a lot with the wings and the external players. Many elders are still in the squad, ensuring experience and concreteness.

What makes Bayern München great:

• Difficult to score against such a monstrous defence: Hummels is thick as a wall and cruel as a hawk; Kimmich and Alaba are really good in the flank, mixing quantity and quality; Neuer even in Fifa 19 is the one we all know, a sealed gate 
• Lewandowski is a deadly beast: he’s able to score in any possible way. He’s intelligent, fast, cynical and tall. 
• Müller and Thiago are great offensive midfielders: the first a monster in mental skills, cynical and fierce; the second highly technical. And you have plenty of really good alternatives from the bench: James Rodriguez, Ribery, Goretzka… 

 

5. Manchester City

Citizens have one of the most offensive playings in the game

Manchester City has the most powerful midfielder of Fifa 19. This squad is able to play at incredible rhythms, due to the afford of Pep Guardiola, that was able to inject the Tiki-Taka mode into the walls of Emirates Stadium. Obviously he was also highly helped by the huge amount of money the executives were able to put in the market periods. Anyways, the Citizens are quite an amazing team.

What makes Manchester City great:

• Looking at the bench can be a tough decision. Too many good players even there: Leeroy Sané is one of my favourites (he has a 92 OVR, just if you’re playing career mode!), but also Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus are really talented, creating some problems while deciding the starting Team
• Deadly attack: Sterling is faster than light, Aguero shows no mercy, Bernardo Silva is as tricky as a wizard
• Incredibly good midfield: De Bruyne is probably the best midfielder in the game, a real complete individual. He is tricky, able to score, create assist, while David Silva is fast a thunder with decisions and mentally impeccable, and Fernandinho is one of the greatest in absorbing the dangers coming from the centre. 

 

4. Real Madrid

The formation of Real seems offensive but has crucial players in the midfield balancing it

Real Madrid has always to be feared. There’s no season in the memory of any football supporter where this team hasn’t been hazardous and problematic when encountered. Able to put a spoke in anyone’s wheel, the most titled European team has to be considered for sure among the top-class clubs, even if after Cristiano Ronaldo’s adieu they lost some points, especially in the attack.

What makes Real Madrid great:

• They’re called galacticos for some reason. Real Madrid has a complete midfield, one of the best in Fifa 19. The passing skills owned by Modric and Kross, mixed with the tackles of Casemiro can really cancel any other midfield you put them in front 
• Fifa 19 puts Vinicius on the starting team, that has a low overall initially (78) but a promising overall (90). If you are using them for one match you always can change him with Bale, or Isco: talking about newbies…
• Varane and Sergio Ramos are two villains. Bone crushing bloody brigands, this couple may be the most powerful central defence in all the game: 90 overall for Ramos, a 91 potential for Varane. 

 

3. Juventus

Incredibly strong defence, and the most skilled attacking pack: Juventus is a steamroller

Juventus by now turned Serie A into the most predictable competition. They’ve been dominating in Italy for 9 years, but since 1997 the hands of a Juventus player aren’t able to lift the Champions League. These years the management has raised the quotes of the team, especially after Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer. Tough team to beat, with the highest attack average in the game.

What makes Juventus a great team:

• With Ronaldo and Dybala playing as winds, a storm will fall above any defence. They’re just too good, and Dybala can reach a 92 of overall 
• Szczęsny, Chiellini and Bonucci: a perfect clean-sheet defence pack. You can be much more chilled in defending, concentrating all in the attack actions
• Balanced midfield, with a highly skilled playmaker (Pjanic) and really good mercenaries with more than decent technique (Matuidi, Khedira, Can)
• Really good players available from the bench: Diego Costa, Cuadrado, Bernardeschi are jolly players that any big team would appreciat

 

2. Paris Saint Germain

PSG has probably the most terrific attack in Fifa 19

The most unbalanced team in this list, but probably the deadliest attack in all Fifa 19. The four in front are worse than a nightmare if you’re playing against them. Mbappé is the most talented young striker in the game, 20 years old but yet destructive. Along with him, you have Neymar, Cavani and Di Maria, three beasts able to turn the meaning of the match at any moment.

If used the only problem can be counter attacks. But just or the fact that you can score at any moment, it won’t be a frequent concern.

What makes PSG great:

• PSG has the most offensive starting block. If you like to dominate the game playing in the opposite midfield during most of the time, PSG is surely the perfect team for you. 
• Thiago Silva is a beast protecting the net. And if you feel insecure, you can also opt for Buffon between the posts: could be old, but in Fifa 19 you won’t even notice.
• The great abilities from both central midfielders can break the pressing at any time. Verratti is a top player and his playmaking is breathtaking. Even if he’s small, has great balance and strength. Marquinhos is an excellent and complete midfielder, able with the feet but also in marking and tackles

 

1. Barcelona

If you love champagne football there's no formation better than Barcelona's

Barcelona is still the most fearsome and formidable opponent you can find in the game. Too good in all the part of his formation, and with a full stock of wonderful players always ready to replace their teammates more than worthily. Messi’s still the best, and Suarez is not that far. Busquets is with Kante probably the best holding midfielder you can have. And Pique, Jordi Alba, Ter Stegen are names that will help you sleep soundly.

What makes Barcelona a great team: 

• Messi and Suarez are just too good. Able to score from any position, in any possible way, they’re a constant annihilating threat. Not so funny play against them. 
• If you place Umtiti with Pique as a central defender, you have one incredibly powerful pair of central defenders: strong, skilled, and enormous. Not many players will be able to move if marked by one of them. 
• Ter Stegen is one of the best goalkeepers in the game, 2nd only to Oblak and maybe De Gea
• Busquets works as a dam in front of the defence. And if you are in war mood, Arturo Vidal will be ready to put off his tuxedo
