For Honor employs a prestige level up system for each of their heroes. Playing online game modes will allow you to gain “Rep” and the more rep you get will increase the overall rank of your hero. You start at rep 1 and go all the way to 20, once you reach 20 you prestige your character by one rank and then the rep begins again at 1.
There are definitely solid strategies to speed leveling your heroes so I will go over my top three favorite ways to collect that rep.
Use Rep Boosters
Rep Boosters also boost your teammates so be a bro!
Remember that the best overall way to raise the amount of rep you get is to use your rep boosters often. You get these as rewards in battle passes, raiding the battlefield, and random reward gifts. Use these whenever you have them, but do not waste them on anything other than Breach or Dominion. If you are straight up going for rep points and trying to level your character do not waste your time with any other game modes. You will spend too much time in long queues or simply not get even half the points you would for playing the other two.
Play Breach
Storm the castle if you want the prestige.
The Breach game mode shells out the most rep points to go towards upgrading your heroes. However, this is a fairly even tradeoff considering each game mode takes anywhere from 20-25 minutes. However, I have found that I can earn more rep from a round of breach than 3 rounds of Dominion which equates to the same amount of playtime.
If you have a few hours to kill and you are wanting to focus on raising an individual hero's rep then just play Breach over and over. This game mode also offers some variability between switching your role as the attacker or the defender. This will help keep the game play a bit more fresh than playing the same Dominions rounds over and over again.
Play Dominion
That Warlord is done for...
The most popular gamemode in For Honor is Dominion and because it gives the second most rep per game. These games typically don’t last too long but can still give you quite a bit of rep. In order to compete a bit with the Breach method make sure to use your rep boosters multiple times a day. Of course you will want to do this no matter what, but if you do not have the boosters on hand they can start to cost a lot of steel. The good thing about Dominion is that you will be able to play multiple rounds at a time and if you get put in some lame lobbies you aren’t stuck playing a game mode for 20 more minutes.
Kill Pikemen
Crush them like the ants they are!
There is more to winning your fights and executing enemy players to succeeding in the aforementioned game modes. Both of these games scale points on how successful you are at playing the mode. Killing the npc Pikemen will give you a lot more points than you would expect. Each one you kill gives you more points during the match and also helps you end ranked higher in your team. Obviously the higher you rank among your teammates will affect your rep pulled in.
Capture Objectives
Finally, make sure you do things like take bases, sit in bases, and collect the shields in Breach. These things will help your overall score and help you collect the most rep possible each round.

Following these tips and playing these game modes will be the most effective ways to help you rank up your favorite hero. Breach is definitely the best way to achieve this, but if you dislike the gamemode or do not have the time Dominion is a solid second option.
