Where to Hide
#10: King of the (Rock) World
(Start at 2:00)
Larger boulders are located in the forest areas on each map. Most players use these rocks by standing at the top of them when Jason is approaching. Specifically, there is a spot located on Higgins Haven near the boat ramp which houses a sizable rock that many Jasons overlook. The large rock is located near the toolshed by the ramp and can be properly utilized by running directly towards the rock, thus reaching the top. This spot works perfectly to confuse Jason since he won’t know exactly where you’ve gone to. Even if he happens to spot you, the chances of him figuring out how to climb up there are slim to none.
#9: Dining Room Shenanigans
(Start at 0:33)
This spot can be found inside any cabin that has a long dining room table. When you enter through the front door, you’ll notice a long table in the middle of the room. If you head towards the back of the table, there is a white cabinet to the right that has a small gap beside it. All that’s left to do is push yourself up against the wall and crouch down. While this spot might seem like it’s easily noticeable, many Jasons overlook this section when they enter the house and instead charge to the rooms to search beds and wardrobes. This spot works even better if Jason has cut the electricity off, making this entire section pitch black and perfect for hiding.
#8: Shower Time
(Start at 5:15)
A popular hiding spot would be located in the counselors’ bathroom on several maps. Inside of the bathroom is a lineup of shower stalls, some of them draped with curtains. Many players take advantage of this hiding spot as there are many stalls to hide in, which can leave Jason helpless at times. This hiding spot only increases in opportunity if the electricity has been cut off, meaning counselors (especially those wearing all-black clothing) have a great chance of not being seen. This is a helpful hiding spot in times where there are only a few minutes left in the match. Find a stall, crouch into a corner, and pray the lights are off.
#7: Bookcase Bravery
(Start at 0:44)
This spot, located in the upstairs bathroom in the Higgins Haven house, has gained increased popularity based on its general accuracy. The basis of the spot is quite simple, seeing as you just enter the bathroom and walk to where the two bookcases are. All that’s left to do is squeeze yourself between the two and you’ll be in a position where Jason will open the door to check the bathroom and not see anyone in there. Like many other spots, the overall potential improves when the lights have been cut out. This is a great place to hide if you spawn immediately in the Main House and hear Jason’s music approaching.
#6: Closet Space
(Start at 1:41)
If you haven’t figured it out by now, Higgins Haven provides a healthy amount of hiding spot goodies. Adding on to this collection is the upstairs closet, located at the end of the short hallway. The instructions for this hiding spot are fairly simple. Enter through the door, close the door behind you, and stealthily hide on the right side of the room. When Jason arrives to check the closet, the door will swing open and essentially prevent him from seeing you due to the blocking of the door. A piece of advice for this spot is only to close the door instead of fully locking it. Locking it will notify Jason that someone is inside, which will ruin your chances of hiding successfully.
#5: Packanack Squeeze
(Start at 3:40)
The trick to most successful hiding spots is ultimately fooling Jason with stealthy tactics. This spot is located around the side of the Main House at Packanack Lodge. Tucking yourself behind the chimney near the kitchen window will give a false impression to Jason that you’re inside of the house. In actuality, you’re positioned on the side of the house, though the entire lodge will light up red, thus tricking Jason’s Sense ability. Sit back and watch as he then tears apart every wardrobe in the house. Jason will likely end up leaving the area to go and search for other players, which in turn will give you more time to search for items and plan an escape.
#4: Tommy's Room
(Start at 4:29)
On the Jarvis House map, heading upstairs will give you several places to hide. One of the most popular is Tommy Jarvis’ room, where entering and going to the back of the room will take you to a dresser. Crouching down behind the side of the dresser will provide a great place to hide while Jason is searching through the house. Most Jasons simply take a small look inside the room once they open the door. If they don’t immediately see a counselor, they usually leave to search elsewhere. Jason isn’t likely to find you in this spot unless he searches the entire room, which is a real waste of time.
#3: Kitchen Retreat
(Start at 7:03)
Small kitchens can be found in a few cabins on each map. To utilize this spot, players must locate the refrigerator and the small basket next to it. This sort of hiding spot takes dedication and determination and can be time-consuming in retrospect. Spamming to run and crouch at the same time in a constant process should eventually trigger the game to allow the counselor to step upwards on the basket and pile of newspapers. This spot is crucial when it comes to successful hiding and is typically overlooked by most Jasons. Again, the only way Jason would detect you is if he searched through the entire room.
#2: Higgins Hideaway
(Start at 5:20)
Another Higgins Haven gem is located in the upstairs bedroom to the left of the hallway closet. Upon entering this room, there is an accordion-style partition on the right side of the room that has a small space behind it, which is good enough for staying hidden. This is best utilized as a temporary hiding spot for when Jason is near and frantically searching the rest of the Main House. It’s another spot where Jason would have to search the entirety of the room to even see you. This is a great distraction to slither away while Jason is busy ripping apart wardrobes and beds. In a case where the lights are out, this spot is an absolute goldmine.
#1: Bathroom Bliss
(Start at 6:12)
While this is possibly the most difficult of the hiding spots in the game, it has been proven to be extremely effective. Finding a larger cabin with a small bathroom is essential here, as the bathroom shelters a great place to hide. Upon entering the bathroom, align yourself between the toilet and the small table while spamming crouch and running. This process can take some time but it certainly is worth the effort once you’re up on top of the toilet. Turn to the left and proceed over to the corner of the room which will put you on the sink. This spot is a perfect place to hide since Jason can’t see you from outside of the bathroom. The door provides a nice barrier that will trick him into thinking the bathroom is empty.
