The game is about a plague that has hit the world and turned most humans into zombies. Your mission is to build up your community, scavenge for supplies, help neighbors and recruit new people to your community.

There are new threats in this sequel, including Plague zombies that you can make a cure out of their tissue but killing them without getting infected is a bit tricky.

Fight or Run: This juggernaut will total anything in its way. The trick to defeating him is using a vehicle and keep pinning him against something or hitting him.  Or just run if you are ill-equipped.

Alien lifeform: Plague hearts hard to destroy but you can get tissue faster.

#10. 7 Days to Die

7 days to die is a survival horror zombie game that gives you 7 days to build up a base and get prepared for the blood moon hordes.

The default setting is a blood moon horde every 7 days hence the name. You have to find or build a base, scavenge for supplies, mine and cut down trees to get the items needed for crafting.

ONLY 7 days to do it, after each blood moon you have to fix the base, upgrade it, and prepare for the next one. Each blood moon gets harder, with more zombies, and different points of impact.

Nightmare: This lovely creature is one of the nightmare zombies that come out during higher stage blood moons. He is quick and deadly and also stays around mine zone in early game stages. Consistent with higher blood moons and in multiples.

Adult movie: well a cop and nurse in front of the adult movie theatre and a torch for light.

#9. Dead Matter

Dead Matter is a zombie survival mode where you can barricade yourself in a base and live off the land.

You can also go and loot weapons, vehicles, food, and stuff. It is multiplayer available or you can solo play.

You have your own electricity and sewer system that are useable to keep your house operating smoothly.

Zombie Apocalypse: What can you do? Survive, fight or flight? Come find out the answer.

Isolation: alone on the streets, where are the zombies? Should you be scared of a massive horde attack or take a bit of a breather.

#8. SCUM

In Scum, it is open world survival where knowledge and skills are your best weapons for long term survival.

Zombies and humans will create hardcore intense life or death fights.

Nothing can prepare you for this new open world game. You are on a private island fighting for life.

Prisoner: what did he kill to survive? How far are you willing to go to live?

Batters up: not sure if it is a zombie or just a sickly looking person.

#7. Dying Light 2

Dying Light is a zombie survival game where parkour is a major factor in staying alive. Customizable weapons, and items to help you survive longer. You have people vs people or you vs zombies. It is a battle for survival from both sides.

When night comes you have to find a safe house unless you want to deal with viral and nightmare creatures from every direction. You have skills you can level up to make your character stronger, faster, and have more protection.

Flying: Can he fly? Dying light 2 survive people vs people or people vs zombies.

Weapons: crossbow, nailed baseball bat, oh the horror these can inflict. Looks like target practice to me.

#6 Project Zomboid

Zomboid is an RPG survival game. You must learn to defend and adapt to survive. The best idea is to flee from hordes as it is a sandbox survival where you need to find food, craft items and fight against inevitable death.

You have skills you get throughout play time and you can fend off depression, boredom, and addictions.

Oh, zomboid:  Need to go to that apartment, well this zombie swarm stands in your way. What do you do? Sneak around back or go all in through the horde?

HUH: Minecraft meets the walking dead.  The only thing missing is the zombies.

#5. Unturned

The challenge to stay alive and unbitten in Unturned, the environment is even against you aside from zombies. To survive you need to forage wild vegetables and fruit and take shelter from the winter blizzards.

Scavenge for items and food, as well as hunting animals for hides to stay warm or meat, be warned in some areas you become the prey.

Also available is planting crops and ensuring it gets rain. Multiple vehicle options and player interactions available.

Lego meets Minecraft:  explosive death from a gun, clear sunny day, what more can you want.

Blockcopter: Green helo that looks more blockish and unflyable.

#4. Survarium

Survarium is a survival FPS game that offers multiple playthrough options. Some include solo or squad killing, and all the basic survival features.

There are many strange places around and death is always lurking around every corner or step. In turn, search for valuable artifacts that make you stronger and other artifacts that can give you a passive or active bonus.

You get experience to level up from battle, the skills available to level up are physical abilities, shooting skills, and protect from all the anomalies to name a few.

Semi-auto or fully auto:  Ready to have a war of being able to live another day. Think we are ready, guns check,  ready to survive.

Run: looks like the hunter became the hunted. Wolves are hungry too.

#3. Metro Exodus

A nuclear war broke out and you are one of the survivors but now you have to learn to survive poisoned elements, mutant beast and paranormal horrors that are daily.

Lead a group of survivors east through Russia to find a new life somewhere else. Scavenge and crafting while you are on the go comes in handy to survive the harsh environment. Your choices, however, determine the people you are leading fate so not all of your party will survive as your choices have dire consequences.

Crossbow: One of the weapons available and pretty evil looking. Deserted land and harsh climates to journey through with this trusty weapon.

Frozen: Well hopefully you dressed warm, looks like it is going to be a cold one.

#2. The Forest

The forest is a first-person survival horror after a crash landing from a plane. You must find your missing son before it's too late.

To survive every tree and plant can be used. Explore everywhere as there are caves and underground lakes around.

You must scavenge for food or risk dying from starvation, chop down the trees for fire and camp building. Lay traps to keep your shelter safe from what is in the forest, explore during the daylight because at night you have to defend your base.

The mutant enemies that almost human-like appearance will attack you at night.

Fight or evade them and do not get captured.

Humans: Mutant cult has driven human-like creatures to kill, capture and sacrifice survivors.  Goal Survive the night.

Fortress: Think it is hard to get in? Think again they will find a way in. Guard and defend at night.

#1. Miscreated

Miscreated is an online multiplayer survival game in a post-apocalyptic open world after a final war.

The war leads the world and humanity to its knees and you need to survive as the world around you is infested by a mutated plague. You have mutants, hostile animals, other survivors, and elements all trying to kill you.

You have 15 drivable vehicles available to use if repaired, and so many places to explore from a forest, hidden caves, sewers, bunkers, and more.

Mutants: Created or miscreated from the final war that crippled the world. All aim at killing you.

Res evil meets Fluffy: parking garage zombies, a mutant beast, and a two-headed zombie dog? Well, time to go back to bed and try again.
