What is the Best Business in GTA 5?
In GTA 5, building your own weed, cocaine, meth, or document forgery business can make you a lot of money.
5. GunrunningDestroy the competition.
Gunrunning is one of the businesses that you will need to spend your hard-earned money on in order to earn more. But one thing you should know before you venture into this business is that Gunrunning is not something that you should spend all your time doing. The most you can make from this business is between $60,000 to $75,000 per hour. That is if you play like a ghetto entrepreneur and go for the supplies acquired through stealing.
Gunrunning is similar to your Bikers business but operates on a larger scale in terms of investment and returns. Don’t expect to get large profits at first since most of the earnings you have will need to be spent on zipping through research.
GETTING INTO THE BUSINESSThe first thing you’ll need to do is buy a Bunker. To buy one, however, you’ll need to be either a VIP, CEO or Biker Club President.
Much like the warehouses, the bunkers are an expensive investment. The cheapest is going for a cool million and the most expensive is going for two million. You will need to do the math here and find the best value for your money, but buying the cheapest warehouse is the best way to go here. The bunker you purchase will be the base of your operations. There is a garage section for your Mobile Operations Center, an HQ section, a weapon workshop and an area for research and production. You can upgrade your bunker with accommodations, a shooting range, and a gun locker. You can also decorate your bunker using the different styles of interior designs available, but be aware this jacks up the cost.
Once you have your new bunker, get to it! Wait for the long cut scene to end and then hit the computer in the research area to start the setup mission. This mission is always the same. You reach the ammunition, steal a vehicle with crates full of supplies and take it to the bunker. With that done, you’re technically up and running.
You can tweak your business a little by upgrading the equipment. Doing this will speed up the production rate, improve the value of your weapons product and consume fewer supplies per stock produced. This upgrade also affects the look of the bunker’s interior. There is a staff upgrade option which gives you the same bonuses as the equipment upgrade. Once you’ve bought the new staff, they arrive in about 10 minutes. Another option is the security upgrade feature. This will only lower the likelihood of your bunker being attacked by enemies, but not remove the threat entirely. So, expect getting hit.
With the setup mission done and the upgrades are done, you still have something that you can change and that’s the staff. You can assign the staff to manufacture, which you will use to create products or you could assign them all to research. Completing the research, you’ll use suppliers to unlock the Mark II weapons attachments and vehicle modifications.
There are 45 items to unlock from research, from modifications of the weaponized vehicles to parts for the Mark II weapons.
HOW MUCH THE BUSINESS CAN COST YOU AND MAKE YOU: TIME REQUIRED FOR A SINGLE RESEARCH PROJECT50% STAFF | 100% STAFF | |

STAFF OR EQUIPMENT | 14 hours 10 minutes | 7 hours 5 minutes |
STAFF AND EQUIPMENT | 11 hours 40 minutes | 5 hours 50 minutes |
So according to this table, it takes you a total of 4 real days to unlock all the items.
But as I said earlier, you can always throw in money to research and speed up the process. This approach will cost you between $45,000 to $225,000 depending on how much the research bar needs to be filled to unlock a given object.
A bunker with all the upgrades and the staff dedicated completely to manufacturing will use an entire bar of supplies; thus creating exactly 20 crates of weapons.

Having a partner to watch your back is smart.
The Doomsday Heist gives you the chance to drive flying cars and infiltrate secret bases to save the world. Attempting the heist will cost you some change since you’ll need to have a couple of millions to invest in.
You’ll also need at least one friend to help you in carrying out missions. So, if you’ve got what it takes, you can earn over $400,000 as the heist leader.
HOW TO GET INTO THE BUSINESSYou will need at least one partner when you start. The more partners you get the more the cut will be split. You will need to unlock Doomsday Heist Facility and have $65,000 to begin Act 1 of the Heist. In total, there are 3 Acts in the heist.
These are the steps you should complete to successfully get a payday:
- Get an ambulance by calling 911 from your phone. Once it arrives, steal it and drive off and then call Lester to remove your wanted level.
- You will then need to travel to Fort Zancudo and enter the base. Download the Akula’s location and clear the room.
- Now, this step is a long and slow process. You will need to find four Deluxos. Their locations will be highlighted on the map.
- Next, your team will have to split into two: The paramedics who will equip Assault Shotguns and the Retrieval Team who will watch out for soldiers with deadly weapons.
- Get a Missile Launcher and get ready to destroy the choppers. This part is tricky because you’ll need to keep a steady aim as you fly through the air.
- The toughest part is this. But hey, don’t give up! You’re close to a big payday. Equip yourself with silenced rifles and use stealth to kill any guards you come around. Infiltrate the base, fight your way into the Server room and hack the servers. Then you’ll need to kill the enemies who flock in the room and find your way out of the facility using the escape vehicle. It is wise to use the Stealth Mode to easily escape your wanted level.
- You can finally enter the heist now. Set it to HARD for a big payout.
As the leader of the Heist you get a 60% cut and your partner will get a 40% cut. Now remember, the more partners you invite, the more you will have to split the cut. If you only bring two, the earnings will be $400,000+ for the leader and $300,000+ for your partner. So, as you can see, it’s not that bad.
3. Finance and FelonyOutrun the cops as they try to bring you down.
The new CEO privileges in this mode have enabled players to build a city-wide contraband distribution service. Now you are no longer a crook or a professional thug for hire. With the Finance and Felony update, you can become the CEO of your own enterprise, employ staff and destroy rivals across Los Santos and Blaine County.
GETTING INTO THE BUSINESSBefore you become a CEO, you need to buy an office and at least one warehouse to store your contraband. Once you get that sorted out, you can now start making money.
Although there's one CEO role, these missions are designed to be played as a team. Playing solo will be difficult shifting one crate at a time and the risks will get higher. A lot can go wrong with attacks from other players and police in Los Santos. But with teamwork and firepower, you'll be able to reduce the risk.
First, you're going to need an office. You can buy one from the Dynasty8 Executive website through your phone. By now I assume you have plenty of money saved up because you will need it. The office’s price ranges from $1 million to $4 million. Get the office you like and at this stage, you can customize your new office with a gun locker, safe and décor. You can also name your organization and hire an assistant to take care of some chores like calling Pegasus vehicles, calling you a lift, etc. As the CEO you also have the power to hire associates.
Once you are in your new office you'll see a 3D map on the boardroom showing you all the available warehouses to buy. These warehouses come in 3 categories: small which can hold 16 special cargo, medium holding 42 special cargo and large holding 11 special cargo crates. You can own up to only five warehouses where you can launch your missions, store special cargo and also upgrade vehicles with armor, speed, etc.
BUYING SPECIAL CARGOYou will need to buy the Special cargo from the SecuroServ computer in your office. It is important you have associates since there are multipart missions with scales of difficulty. There are 20 buy missions in total and you are paid for the number of crates delivered to your warehouse. Only one player can carry Special cargo crate at a time so you will need to split the team and deliver one item at a time. Don’t get cocky.
Once you have collected the cargo, other players in the map will be alerted. Make a run for it and make sure you are armed to the teeth.
As I told you earlier you have privileges as the CEO, so make sure you use them. Ghost organizations can hide you for three minutes, remove the feds and make the law look the other way. Welcome to the business!
MAKING THE MONEYNow you’ve got your warehouse fully stocked with goods, you’ll want to cash it all in. Get to your laptop in the warehouse and you'll see three offers on the table. You need to agree on a buyer and deliver the goods either on land, sea or air. You can sell 20%, 50% or the entire Special cargo.
HOW MUCH MONEY YOU SPENDCOSTS/MISSIONS | 1 CRATE OPTION ($2,000) | 2 CRATE OPTION ($8,000) | 3 CRATE OPTION ($18,000) |
---|---|---|---|
SMALL WAREHOUSE 16 CRATES | $32,000 16 missions | $64,000 8 missions | $92,000 5 missions |
MEDIUM WAREHOUSE 42 CRATES | $84,000 42 missions | $168,000 21 missions | $242,000 14 missions |
LARGE WAREHOUSE 111 CRATES | $22,222 111 missions | $442,000 55 missions +1(C) | $666,000 37 missions |
COSTS/MISSIONS | 1 CRATE OPTION PROFIT | 2 CRATE OPTION PROFIT | 3 CRATE OPTION PROFIT |
---|---|---|---|
SMALL WAREHOUSE SELL FOR $240,000 | $208,000 $13,000 each crate | $176,000 $11,000 each crate | $148,000 $9,875 each crate |
MEDIUM WAREHOUSE SELL FOR $735,000 | $84,000 42 missions | $567,000 $13,500 each crate | $483,000 $11,500 each crate |
LARGE WAREHOUSE SELL FOR $2,220,000 | $22,222 111 missions | $1,778,000 $16,000 each crate | $1,554,000 $14,000 each crate |
Now it is important to note that with all the money you have invested in your business, it is possible to lose it all. For example, when you’re making a delivery of your special cargo, you are given 30 seconds where no one can see you.
When the time is up you are at a risk of being attacked. If the attackers manage to steal your cargo, well that’s it, you’ve lost your investment. But if you successfully deliver your cargo, that’s when you make profit from this business.
2. Bikers Business
Recruit fellow bikers to beef up security.
For you to get started in this business you’ll need to first purchase at least one Mc Clubhouse from the Maze Bank Foreclosure. The prices start from $200,000 and go up to $495,000. While making a purchase of the clubhouse, you can add a few decorations. You can change the interior design and make it look fancy, but that’s not necessary when you’re first starting the business.
Now that you’ve made a purchase, it is time to decide which business you ultimately want to buy. Now I assume you’re going to have enough money to make all the transactions I’m going to tell you. If not, then you might want to pick one or two things I’ll talk about.
So, there are five different businesses:
- Cocaine Lockup
- Meth Lab
- Counterfeit Cash Facility
- Weed Farm
- Document Forgery
Here is when you need to make the top decision, which one of these businesses is the best. Prioritizing all five is a big mistake. Not only is it a waste of money but you’re going to be spreading yourself out too thin and it’s not going to be worth it. I’d recommend you really focus on one, but if you’re really dedicated to the bikers’ stuff, then focus on two.
By far, the Cocaine Lockup business is the best business when you’re starting. Personally, I’d suggest you start with this venture. It’s incredibly efficient and the best biker business. The Meth lab ranks slightly under the cocaine lab but is still really good. These two businesses are the best to focus on. You can do them solo or with other players.
All these Biker businesses are passive income, so there is nothing you can do to make the businesses produce any faster. Aside from having security upgrades, equipment upgrades and staff upgrade there is nothing else you can do.
You have two options when it comes to getting more supply into your business. You can either buy or you can steal. Buying is the best way to go. At first, it’s going to be a big hit, but it is going to save you so much time in the long run.
The stealing missions are incredibly difficult and tedious. They do not guarantee you a full supply of products in order to start making what you want. Be careful because these businesses are subject to a raid.
When it comes to selling your supply, you will have two options: closer to your business and further away. For example, if your weed farm is located in Los Santos, selling in Los Santos will be the cheaper option whereas selling it to Plito Bay will be an expensive option. Basically, the further away you go to sell your supply, the more money you’re going to make. The higher the risk, the higher the reward will be.

1. Import Export Services
Having nice cars don't mean anything if you get caught. Don't get caught.
In GTA online: Import/Export services is one of the lucrative businesses to venture in. In this business, you specialize in high-volume exotic car theft. You are the CEO of the organization and you’re introduced to a whole new series of criminal pursuits.
You will need talent, coordination and tactical use of the brand-new special vehicles to get the job done while staying a step ahead of the rivals and the police. But hey, at the end of every challenge is a worthwhile income.
HOW TO GET INTO THE BUSINESSThe first thing you need to get started is to have a couple million dollars. With the money in your account, pull up your phone and go to the internet and click Dynasty8. You will find some offices for sale starting from 1 million and the most going for 4 million dollars. Select which suits you the most and decorate it to your taste though you will incur some extra cost in decorating. After you purchase the office, drive over to your office building and walk straight in. And that is it; you are now a CEO.
Once you have become a CEO, you need to go to the computer terminal in the CEO office, log into the Secure Server Network and go to the Vehicle Cargo Option. You will find a load of different warehouses to purchase from different locations. They vary in prices, but there is no real difference between them all. They all hold 40 cars. So, you can go for the cheapest one and save yourself a bit of money. You can also choose a preset for interior design which will also cost you extra cash.
After purchasing the vehicle warehouse, you can now join the big boys club and start stealing cars. Select the source vehicle option which will bring up the mission where you have to steal a random car. You cannot choose a specific vehicle to steal. Once you steal a car, you have to deliver it successfully to the warehouse without any damages or scratches.
