Is the Avengers worth the full price? Or wait on sale? Or is it even worth it at all?
10. Loot based gameplay
If you’re into gameplay similar to Destiny 2 or other popular live-service games, then Marvel’s Avengers is for you. Marvel’s Avengers takes note of how loot functions in other games, and does their take on it but remains familiar enough to live-service players.
9. Play with friends
You got friends who want to scratch that superpowered itch? Then grab the game and your friends and experience what it feels like to be an Avenger. Play as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, or Black Panther, and team up with your friends to fight bad guys as a team.
8. Free characters
Even before the release of the game, Crystal Dynamics has promised free characters in the future. No character will have to be bought, and that enticed players to purchase the game. Now we have Kate Bishop, Hawkeye, Black Panther, and Spider-Man in the game, but there’s more coming.
With Jane Foster arriving on June 28, you can expect more in the future of Marvel’s Avengers, especially She-Hulk and The Winter Soldier.
7. Free content
Just like free characters, Marvel’s Avengers has promised free content as the game goes on. From story DLC to challenging endgame content, Crystal Dynamics continues to grant players free content as long as they continue support.
6. Cosmetic in-game purchases
While future content like characters and story DLC are free, Crystal Dynamics still needs to earn some profit from the game in order to continue it. The game only features cosmetic microtransactions in order to get said profit to support the game.
5. Different universe from the comics and movies
You may be wondering why you’re not seeing the beautiful face of Chris Evans as Captain America or the sarcastic voice of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. That’s because the cast of Marvel’s Avengers is completely different from the movies and comics.
The game is set in its own universe, where even Spider-Man isn’t the same Spider-Man from Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man game. You won’t see Hailee Steinfeld or Scarlett Johansson reprise their roles, and that’s okay.
4. Continuous story
The world of Marvel’s Avengers continues to evolve as new heroes and new characters come in. While it’s not on the same level of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans can appreciate the story that Crystal Dynamics is setting up here.
From the Kree Invasion to the Multiverse, you can expect Marvel’s Avengers to touch on subjects like this as the game goes on.
3. Weekly skin drops
Every week, Marvel’s Avengers drops a new skin to add to the game. While many would prefer content, you have to understand that this is their main source of revenue in order to make said content. One cannot co-exist without the other.
While you wait for new content to drop, you can expect to see a new skin every week until then ranging from designs based on the comics, the MCU, or even their own original designs.
2. Challenging endgame content
Marvel’s Avengers players can expect to have challenging content when accessing the endgame. You’ve maxed out your character, both level and gear, and are ready for more. Crystal Dynamics realizes that and wants their playerbase to challenge themselves by playing harder missions.
1. Will be supported for years to come
Crystal Dynamics promises to support the game for years. While some may say that the game is dying, the recent announcement of Jane Foster is proof that Marvel’s Avengers is going strong. The game still has a story to tell, and it will not stop until Marvel’s Avengers reaches its Endgame moment.
