If you’ve played any of the Kingdom Hearts games, you’re already familiar with the age-old rule for bosses: you have to use a finisher to deal the final blow (unless you use magic). This can be a pretty annoying rule sometimes, but don’t worry,we’ve got you covered! This Top 5 list will tell you which are the best finishers you should have equipped.
5. Speed Slash
At number 5, we have Speed Slash. The title implies that this finisher happens in a flash, but unfortunately, that’s not quite true. The attack is 3 slashes that happen consecutively, but the downside is that you can’t cancel it with Block if you need to, leaving Sora wide open for attacks. It’s for this reason that it remains at the bottom of our list.
Why Speed Slash is OK:
- 3 consecutive slashes can do some pretty solid damage
- Costs 3AP to equip, not too expensive
- Wide slash range can hit multiple enemeis
Speed Slash Full Details:
- Costs 3AP
- Deals 3 consecutive hits
- Takes priority when equipped with Triple Rush
4. Magic Flash
This finisher is flashy and pretty. It has a long animation because of that, but thankfully, it makes up for it because of its usefulness on not only bosses, but on mob fights as well! It has a pretty wide range that your enemies will struggle to get away from in time, which rightfully earns its spot just above the bottom, at number 4.
Why Magic Flash is Good:
- Hits a lot of enemies
- Bosses won't evade as long as you're close enough
- Has a wide range for dealing damage in a larger area
Magic Flash Full Details:
- 5AP to equip
- Damage is determined by Sora's Magic Stat
- Takes priority if equipped alongside Last Charge
3. Explosion
This finisher is familiar from Kingdom Hearts 2, with a new little flair in KH3. Explosion is a finisher that summons orbs around Sora, dealing damage in a large radius around him and stunning enemies in the process. The only downside is that Explosion is only available in Sora’s Second Form—so if you like this Finisher, make use of it! Not only is this finisher super satisfying, it’s also among the best, rightfully earning its spot in the middle of our list.
Why Explosion is Good:
- Satisfying visuals
- Stuns enemies, opening the door for doing more damage afterweards
- Deals damage in a huge area arouind Sora, covering all his bases
Explosion Full Details:
- Second Form has it by default
- Magic Stat determines damage
- Deals Neutral damage
- Has more vertical range than horizontal
2. Falling Slash
Falling Slash is technically classified as an Action skill… but when it’s used as a finisher, it can be absolutely deadly. Sora will slam his Keyblade down while in the air, creating a devastating shockwave around him. Using it as a finisher also increases Falling Slash’s damage output, making it an even more powerful skill to use to get rid of your enemies.
Why Falling Slash is Great:
- Can be used both as an action skill and as a Finisher
- Damage output is increased when utilized as a Finisher
- Deals shockwave damage when it's triggered in the air, dealing more damage to more enemies!
Falling Slash Full Details:
- Costs 2AP to equip
- Used in the air to deal more damahe
- Generates a shockwave when used as a Finisher
1. Last Charge
Similar to Falling Slash, Last Charge is an ability where Sora slams his keyblade into the ground, dealing shockwave damage in a small radius. The reason Last Charge is our number one Finisher ability is because of the sheer damage output this skill has. It’s a little pricey, coming in at 7AP, but all that devastating damage more than makes up for it.
Why Last Charge is the Best:
- Huge damage output
- Creates a column of magic in a radius in front of Sora, while doing damage all around
- Fast animation leaves little room for Sora to be attacked while in the animation
Last Charge Full Details:
- Costs 7AP to equip
- Quick animation
- Magic Stat determines damage
- Takes priority when equopped alongside Magic Flash
That wraps up this Top 5 list of finishers. You should have a lot more insight into which are the best abilities to utilize, whether to finish off boss fights or do some extra damage when fighting mobs, whether they’re in big or small groups. Based on the situation, you can pick which finisher fits your playstyle and flow the best!
