The Survivalist is a class that specializes in mixing different perks from other classes. In summary, you can make a weird hybrid between a Support&Firebug, Gunslinger&Sharpshooter, and god knows what else!

But you’re probably wondering which weapons this class has to offer - don’t worry, we will get to the bottom of every worthy weapon and explain what they excel at. Now that we know what we will talk about, let’s roll with the first weapon!

6. Doshinegun

Blasting a Bloat’s head off with a stack of DOSH, cuz why not!

As the name suggests, this rifle deploys clips of DOSH at enemy targets. There are two fire modes, semi-auto and full-auto. Each stack of DOSH deals around 80 damage per hit, at a fire rate of 300 rounds per minute. Weird but it works…

The projectile speed is pretty slow, plus the DOSH that you shoot out has limited range, meaning that it will just fall to the ground after a few meters of flying.

5. HRG Locust

Zeds getting swarmed with bees. Nicolas Cage empathizes with the Zeds!

A pretty unique weapon that shoots missiles filled with some weird, robotic locusts. Upon impact, it creates a cloud that damages everything within the radius. Furthermore, the alternative fire lets you remotely control the rocket with a laser. A pretty good weapon for crowd control in the early game!

But that’s about it - HRG Locust falls off pretty badly in the late game and it should only be used for managing weaker groups of Zeds. Works great against weak/medium Zeds but that’s about it!

Why the HRG Locust is awesome:

  • Great for crowd control - create clouds, makes Zeds walk around aimlessly
  • The alternative fire mode lets you remotely control the rocket, guiding it with a laser
  • The cloud also causes poison&bleed damage

4. Freezethrower

Opposite of the flamethrower.

If you wanna be a useful asset to your teammates, you should consider getting the Freezethrower - it freezes enemy Zeds in place or slows them down. Performs surprisingly well against larger Zeds, such as the Scrakes or Fleshpounds and it should enable your team to score some easy headshots when they’re frozen. Also, the alternative fire mode works like a shotgun, it shoots 8 pellets and each one of them deals 35 damage per hit.

I don’t like the pellet spread, which makes this weapon not always reliable at medium distances. When it comes to this weapon, you either freeze or shoot your target, and both activities greatly consume your ammunition.

Why it’s awesome:

  • Useful against Scrakes/Fleshpounds(freezes them in place)
  • Somewhat good for crowd control - it freezes the ground, which slows down the Zeds
  • You’re also equipped with a shotgun with decent penetration power

3. Reducto Ray

Turns the Zeds from scary into cute!

Probably one of the weirdest weapons out there, it shoots energy instead of bullets and causes your target to shrink in size. The target affected by this weapon can even be 2 times smaller than previously and receive up to 100% additional damage from all sources. If you shrink a Zed too much, they’re just gonna die anyways…

This weapon doesn’t work on the Matriarch, plus every single boss won’t die from too much shrinking. In terms of damage, it’s pretty much nonexistent and you should only use this pistol while playing with your team.

Why this shrinker is awesome:

  • Greatly reduces the intimidating factor of Zeds
  • Shrinked Zeds become vulnerable to all types of damage, up to 100%
  • Can be used against bosses, although they will only receive extra damage

2. HRG Arc Generator

A ball of lighting traveling through a large horde of Zeds, zapping their asses and making them go to sleep!

If you ever played the Firebug, this weapon is quite similar to the Microwave gun - instead of cooking Zeds from inside out, you electrocute them and deal 21 damage per second. If that’s not interesting enough for you, there’s also an alternative fire mode that releases a massive EMP ball that deals 220 damage on impact, as well as disables enemy Zeds for a short period.

I think the primary issue with this weapon is its cost - 1500 DOSH, there’s also an upgrade that costs an additional 1500 DOSH. This weapon doesn’t deal huge amounts of damage immediately, plus the orb can be pretty slow at times and it’s not always reliable on longer distances.

What’s awesome about this sparky boy:

  • The orb moves through multiple Zeds, damaging everything it comes across
  • The primary fire is also pretty accurate
  • You can EMP blast multiple Zeds at once

1. Killerwatt

What the alternative fire mode does to a Gorefest!

Killerwatt lets out electric bolts in a semi-automatic or a fully-automatic manner at upcoming Zeds. Each bolt deals around 50 damage per hit and there’s also an alternative fire mode, which allows you to charge a powerful beam that deals damage based on the amount of time you've charged it.

The weapon offers no penetration at all, plus it costs 2000 DOSH, with no upgrades available. It might be effective but it’s also pretty boring after a while!

Why the Killerwatt is awesome:

  • Very high rate of fire, which is 700 RPM
  • Accurate, relatively good at all ranges
  • It’s also equipped with a cool, Sci-Fi scope that helps you with aiming
