Mortal Kombat 11’s DLC came with some fan favorites and heavy hitters like Joker and Terminator, but the true question is: Which DLC character is the best of them all? We’re taking a look at the top ten DLC characters and explaining why these warriors are must-play for any MK fan.
10) Sindel
Like the other females in Mortal Kombat, Sindel’s beauty (zombified or not) masks the true power of the ruthless Edenian. Whether you choose “Splitting Hairs” or “Loud and Clear” then you’re guaranteed to whoop some serious ass thanks to her awesome and unique combos that both provide. “Splitting Hairs takes advantage of Sindel’s gorgeous locks that can kill you in a heartbeat; “Loud and Clear” relies on her signature scream to great effect. Add in the various customizations that help boost the former ruler of Edenia’s attacks and you essentially control God at your fingertips. Well, unless you choose any of the other characters above.
· Killer combos in both “Splitting Hairs” and “Loud and Clear” fighting styles
· Easy-to-learn advanced combinations
· Awesome x-ray and fatalities
9) Joker
The clown prince of darkness made his grand return to the world of Mortal Kombat and this incarnation of the legendary DC character put a smile on plenty of faces. Ed Boon and the other creators got down Joker’s mannerisms perfectly, whether it’s his funny one-liners, his playful (but sinister) moveset, and his love/hate for Batman, Joker is nearly flawless in MK 11. Of course, the most important aspect is the gameplay and the devastating combos have made him a force to be reckoned with. Joker isn’t a powerhouse like Terminator or Sheeva, but his swift attacks make for easy and smooth transitions that lead to fire combinations.
· The mannerisms and persona captures the DC villain perfectly
· Joker’s twisted, but funny moveset and dialogue
· Awesome fatalities and brutalities
8) Fuijin
The Elder Gods would be so proud. The younger brother of Raiden made fans miss the ass-kicking Wind God thanks to his unique ability that equates to fun and easy to pull off attacks. To nail close-ranged moves like whirlwind spin and dive kick can cause a massive amount of damage when put in correctly. Thanks to Fuijin’s speed, enemies that prefer long distance attacks can be stopped due to his ability to control the wind. Like Sindel or Joker (or just anyone on this list), adding customizations can boost select attacks, creating opportunities for Fuijin to score one-hit kills.
· The wind-based attacks are easy to pull off
· Speed and Fuijin’s ability to stop long distance opponents
· Fuijin’s ability to score one-hit kills after customizations
7) Robocop
The loveable, yet murderous cyborg entered the Mortal Kombat Universe for the first time and Robocop fits into the world like a glove. Robocop has a total of six weapons (Auto 9 Handgun, Terminal Strip, Cobra Assault Cannon, Cybernetic Weapons, Wrist Rocket Launcher, and Wrist Flamethrower) and none of these items ever slow him down. The fact that Robocop can pull out a handgun, flamethrower, and rocket launcher with ease makes him a very deadly opponent for both close- or long-range enemies. Combine that with the fact that the awesome Peter Weller voices the legendary character and this DLC fighter does the Robocop name proud in MK 11.
· Robocop’s six weapons (Auto 9 Handgun, Terminal Strip, Cobra Assault Cannon, Cybernetic Weapons, Wrist Rocket Launcher, and Wrist Flamethrower)
· Robocop’s speed despite being a well…robot
· The ability to pull off both close- and long-range attacks seamlessly
6) Spawn
The classic anti-hero is simply not the man (or demon) to fuck with. Spawn’s attacks and combos are best served when he’s kicking ass at close range, with special moves like necro blast and fatal phantasm that cause severe damage. This doesn’t mean that Spawn has a weakness when he’s far away from his opponent, as his trusty Machine Guns can blast a hole in any bastard who dares to play the long-range game. Spawn can cause up to 227.5% damage thanks to customization and his combinations are extremely hard for any opponent to get out of. Learning Spawn’s advanced moveset does take some practicing; however, it shouldn’t take long for any player to master the comic book hero.
· Spawn’s variety of attacks and combos
· Spawn being able to cause up to 227.5% more damage following customization
· Great short- and long-range attacks
5) Rambo
The war veteran may not be a superhero or machine like Spawn and Robocop, but Rambo can stand toe-to-toe with any MK warrior. The different array of weapons (M60 Light Machine Gun, Bow, and Arrow, Bowie Knife, Grenades, Traps, Claymore Mines) create a unique gameplay experience that doesn’t just rely on mindless button mashing. Once you master Rambo’s combinations then the endless sequence of attacks can throw your opponent off as you kick ass with the iconic character. Add in the glorious 80’s hair and sick fatalities and Rambo is a great reward for any patient player who values strategy in the legendary fighting game.
· Different array of weapons (M60 Light Machine Gun, Bow, and Arrow, Bowie Knife, Grenades, Traps, Claymore Mines)
· Endless sequences and combos can be learned easily
· Badass brutalities and fatalities
4) Mileena
Everyone’s favorite genetic experiment made her grand return to Mortal Kombat and the upgrades from her MK X counterpart are huge. While Mileena’s moveset isn’t too different from the last generation, the lethal combinations added to her arsenal have made the Outworlder one of the strongest fighters in MK 11. The slick transitions from teleport kick, ground roll, and sai blasts help for both long and close-ranged opponents. Throw in the speed and elegance of Mileena’s vicious attacks and the original MK fighter came back into the fold with vengeance.
· Upgraded moveset
· Slick transitions from aerial and ground attacks
· Grotesque brutalities and fatalities
3) Rain
The master of water’s use of the special element makes for a strong array of moves and combinations that can cause up to 61% damage. Of course, that comes after some adjustment thanks to customization but the potential ass-kicking power with Rain can be insane if done right. Rain is arguably one of the cooler DLC characters to come along; While he doesn’t have funny one-liners like Johnny Cage or the nostalgia factor like Terminator, his water moveset is a pretty sight to behold, though I’m sure your opponent will think differently as he’s getting his butt whooped by the prince of Edenia.
· Customizations that can increase damage by up to 61%
· Water-based moves that are for both short- and long-range attacks
· Smooth transitions between various moves
2) Shang Tsung
Your soul is mine! Never thought these words would sound like music to the ears, but the return of the original Mortal Kombat villain was a treat that nobody expected. The shape-shifting master came with a few new tricks in his arsenal that elevated his overall gameplay; Tsung’s ability to temporarily transform into his opponent and use their moveset is a flawless transition that can throw off any player. The soul-stealing sorcerer has the power to dish out 134% of extra damage if you input the right combinations, making this lethal MK warrior one of the top characters that beginners can easily pick up and play.
· Shang Tsung’s ability to shift into his/her opponent temporarily
· Has the power to deal out an extra 134% damage due to customization
· His ability to morph into Ermac, Smoke, Rain, or Reptile
1) Terminator
The cyborg assassin finally arrived in Mortal Kombat and there’s no doubt that the Terminator is the strongest DLC competitor thus far. Just like Jason Voorhees in MKX, the movie icon has incredible strength and power, though Terminator’s speed is his biggest weakness overall. What makes The Terminator such a dominant force within the game is his terminate ability, which allows him to be an invincible beast for a short time. This ability can be abused to great effect and with customization and practice, the insane combos that can be pulled off could do some critical damage to your opponent before the ability wears off. While it sucks that the man behind the glasses and sawed-off shotgun couldn’t voice the legendary character, Ed Boon and company did justice to the Terminator name.
· Terminate ability
· Terminator’s unmatched power and strength
· Terminator’s “Target Terminated” fatality
