[Top 10] NBA 2k14 Best Teams That Are Excellent

Besides the obvious Mycareer mode, the most significant part of any 2k is all the Play now modes. Nothing beats being able to play together as your favorite team with everyone in sync, and like in real life, not all teams are equal in terms of skill, and that’s why I have made a list of some of the best in 2K14 (excluding Historic teams)

10. Cleveland Cavaliers

Don’t underrate these Cavs; they are way better than you think. 

We’re talking about a team with Kyrie Irving here, who is arguably the best guy to have for isolation scoring, the way he snatched ankles. This team is a balance of really low lows and extremely high highs. The selection of forwards is feeble, but the guards are A-tier.

What Makes the Cavaliers Awesome:

• Kyrie Irving is a top 5 point guard and arguable the best ball handler in the game
• Bynum has the rim protection and underrated inside game, especially when paired with Irving
• The frontcourt is loaded with Tristan Thompson, Bynum, Bennet and Varejao on the bench

9. New York Knicks

Yes, the Knicks are actually good this time.

Carmelo Anthony is a subpar defender at best, not precisely a playmaking beast, and has decent athleticism putting it nicely, but if there's one thing Melo can do, score. The rest of the team is backed up by Athletic scoring wings and big men who dominate the inside with offense and defense. The team’s main weakness, like Melo, is passing, with their best point guard being Raymond Felton’s old self.

What Makes the Knicks Awesome:

• Top 3 small forward and absolute Bucket Carmelo Anthony.
• Iman Shumpert is an excellent complimentary three and D player with Jr Smith as a backup and goated 6th man.
• The frontcourt has two of the best pick and roll guys in Amare Stoudemire, Tyson Chandler, and other big men who are good backups like stretch four Bargnani and Veteran Kenyon Martin.

8. Indiana Pacers

Defense wins championships; This team is defense incarnate.

The Pacers are a tough team, and there’s a reason they went toe to toe with Lebron’s Heat Irl. You have Paul George leading the charge as one of the best two-way players with defense and 3-level scoring. After PG, the roster has guys like 2nd option OId Danny Granger, 7’3 Hibbert Roaming the Paint, David West holding his own, steady point guard George Hill, and underrated 6th man Lance Stephenson. We also have notable skilled players deep in the roster, making this team deep. This team is slow, but it's still really effective.

What Makes the Pacers Awesome:

• Paul George is a defensive stopper AND has the offense with inside finishing and solid outside shooting.
• Some of the best big men when it comes to defense and steady scoring inside of open looks
• Not the fastest, but they are strong and can keep up with the best teams.

7.Houston Rockets

Not quite Shaq and Kobe, but pretty damn close.

The Rockets are an absolute beast of the team and have arguably one of the best duos with Harden and Dwight. Dwight is the best Center in the game, and Harden is arguably in the top 3. They are then surrounded by impressive Point guard depth with JLin, Aaron Brooks and Pat Beverley. This team is a nightmare, especially with the transition. However, they can get exposed on defense sometimes ( but Dwight is a good stopper on this end too.)

What Makes the Rockets  Awesome:

• Dwight is a Force on the inside in terms of offense and defense
• Harden is an Isolation goat scoring with ease almost every time.
• Point Guard rotation makes this team’s backup PG better than most starters, and Players like Parsons and Omer Asik support the team’s duo.

6.Los Angeles Clippers

Lob City both in the game and in real life.

The Clippers are just a star-studded team of players. We have arguably the best point guard in the game, CP3, and he has players to pass it to, like Redick and Dudley from 3-point range. We then have the best Bigman duo, Blake and Deandre, Both ready to catch CP3’s lobs and do everything else a big man should do. We then have their best weapon off the bench, Jamal Crawford being a one-man scoring machine and passing up the rock, with highlight-level streetball moves from the bench.

What Makes the Clippers Awesome:

• Star Players work super well with each other Chris Paul’s playmaking and ball-handling pair well with Griffin’s finishing inside
• Deandre Jordan is an excellent complimentary big man, and the rest of the starters keep up and compliment their stars well.
• The bench depth is solid with all sorts of defensive specialists, shooters and big men available

5. Chicago Bulls

No need to worry about Injuries here.

The Bulls are another defensive-minded team, just like the Pacers, except literally everyone is a defensive beast. Rose is an A-tier defender keeping up with his passing and athleticism. We have players like 6’8 Jimmy Butler in the shooting guard spot, Luol Deng playing defense both inside and out, Carlos boozer as a good help defender, and Joakim Noah letting no one in the paint. This team has Depth with players like Hinrich and Taj Gibson off the bench. This team is a lot like the Pacers, only even more stubborn on defense which is a scary thought.

What Makes the Bulls Awesome:

• Rose is an unstoppable force with inside scoring and transition dunks, good playmaking, and hyper athleticism.
• You have three starters with lockdown defender badges meaning any player can get the smoke and won't be scoring well.
• Noah and Deng aren't only excellent defenders and good scorers in their specific spots.

4. Golden State Warriors

Raining Threes with ease.

The warriors are way better than what their overall tells you. The Warriors are led by Steph Curry, an absolute bucket inside, from midrange, and especially from three. They are rounded out by a team of shooters, creating an incredibly efficient five-out offense, enough to rival even the best teams. We also have Klay with his 6’7 frame, Harrison Barnes being a two-way player, Igoudala Locking up the opposing team’s best player, and Bogut Locking up the paint. They also have some good players off the bench, like veteran Jermaine O’neal and David Lee.

What Makes the Warriors Awesome:

• Almost everyone can make an open 3 making this a team that can space out the defense.
• Players have the overalls and specialties to keep up with even the best teams.
• Curry is a lights-out shooter that can pass out once he gets double-teamed for open shots or easy drives inside.

3. San Antonio Spurs

Fundamentally sound basketball is the best basketball.

The Spurs are the ultimate example of team members being reliable contributors. This team has Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli, but they aren't what you expect a superstar trio to be like. They are a steady team that can defend all five positions super well and then score in various ways off of their fantastic passing. Duncan isn’t the fastest anymore but can still score inside and post up, and we also have Kawhi, who gives this team of veterans youthful energy of drives, open threes and lockdown defense on the other team’s best player.

What Makes the Spurs Awesome:

• The entire team is full of contributors, from the starters to the 12th man
• This team plays defense so well, with each player able to play defense and switch their matchup.
• This team has players that are so versatile that it can work for a fastbreak offense, a defensive-minded, grinded-out offense, and anything in between because of its players.

2.Oklahoma City Thunder

Demigods all over the roster.

The Thunder is a better team than the Spurs because they have the star power of Kevin Durant and Westbrook. Durant is without question the 2nd best small forward in the game and almost without question the greatest scorer in the game. Mid Range pull-ups, faceups, post-ups, drives, spot-up shooting, all while contested, and they'll still go in with ease because of how good Durant is. He’s paired with Westbrook's lightning-fast speed and athleticism, letting him play make and easily score inside. These players are paired up with Ibaka being a jack of all trades, Perkins down low, and Jeremy Lamb and Sefolosha for Kick-Outs.

What Makes the Thunder Awesome:

• Westbrook’s drives are unstoppable, and Kevin Durant generally is unstoppable.
• Ibaka is an excellent compliment to Russ and KD since he can post up, score inside block shots and take a mid-range if he’s open.
• The other players on the team are also really athletic to get straight inside shots.

1.Miami Heat

Lebron James. That’s the Intro and the answer.

The Miami Heat is the best team because Lebron is the best player. He is unstoppable inside and in any circumstance. A Lebron drive is a bucket no matter what. If you D up and overplay Lebron too much, he then passes to everyone else who gets wide open for an easy jumper or drive dunk. And if somehow you can even slow down Lebron, you have to deal with Dwade, Bosh and all the knock-down shooters on the roster.

What Makes the Heat Awesome:

• Lebron is the best player in the game, even against all-time teams.
• Dwayne Wade is still a top 3 SG and can quickly slash and score at the rim.
• Bosh is a great compliment as a small-ball center.
• Every other player on the roster is either a knock down 3 point shooter or can catch the inside lobs of LBJ and dunk inside
