[Top 5] Need for Speed: Underground Best Starting Cars That Are Excellent.

Get ready for a hot list of starter cars and why you should pick them.

In my opinion, first impressions ARE everything! And after that awesome intro movie to get your blood rushing, how else does one present a taste of what your gaming experience may offer in the future other than the first lineup of cars to choose from? Here is my list of top gunners to start your career with on Need for Speed: Underground!

5. 2003 Volkswagen Golf GTI | $24 000

Among being of the most stylish hot hatches of its era, the GTI is available for purchase at only 8000 credits making it the lowest cost car of the game.

While not being the top dog in terms of performance, the Golf balances out with its handling points.

If you have done as I have, completed the game and explored the later, more challenging races with one of your favorite cars (The Golf GTI), then you’ll know that when it’s fully upgraded, it comes very close to being one of the best all-round performance vehicles of the game.

4. 2003 Peugeot 206 | $5 000

Having pretty high handling points in the starter car line-up, it is not a terrible choice as a first car to start racking up your street cred.

This best-selling Peugeot model of all time comes in at number 4, being an easy car to negotiate with on the bends and doesn’t fare so badly on price, leaving you some cash for sick visual upgrades to look the part as well as performance mods to up your game.

3: 1999 Dodge Neon | $14 000

Jokes aside, if you are a true petrol head and speed in your vice, there is no other competitor than the Dodge Neon.

The Neon is not badly priced, coming in at 8500 credits, it does you well on the pocket.

In the long run, this cool cat is a stiff competitor to some of the later unlocked cars in the game.

2: 2000 Honda Civic | $16 000

Status is prominent as you break the bank purchasing this car spending 10000 credits, but… you look cool doing it!

On the upper hand, it's a very well-averaged car that does its part in most of the event types, including drag races and sprints.

A 2000 Honda Civic with that mad VTEC stuff going on is in my ‘top 5 list of Great cars to own in real life so why would I not want to PIMP the hell out of it on Need for Speed: Underground with its endless visual mods?

1: 1999 Mazda Miati | $27 000

For all reasons under the sun, or in this instance, under the moon… a rear-wheel-driven car is great for many things and an obvious choice as a sports vehicle.

Allowing its impressive specs to sway you, its power output is nothing less than courageous!

This beaut stands out when it comes to trying to get through the drift challenges with a stock car,  whereas all the other cars are FWD and you struggle through yanking on your handbrake as you enter each corner to get sideways.

If you eat your breakfast slow and sideways or, fast and straight down the line, Need for Speed: Underground has a supercar lineup for you to lay it all down on the blacktop. And in the end, it all comes down to how you feel when you stand by your ride. How do you feel when you 'roll up' in your prized possession? That my friend will be your deciding factor, and it won't be a conscious decision… no, it will be a feeling from deep within your soul. Long live our purest Need for Speed!!
